Gwyndolin's crush

chapter 4

Gwyndolin's jaw practically hit the floor. "W-Wha?" He stammered out.

"I know it sounds crazy. He's a god after all, and I'm just a lowly undead." Arias acknowledged. Crazy? No, it was just bloody insane. Though you couldn't exactly say Gwyndolin was upset with the revelation, but it was surprising.

"N-no it's alright, go on." Gwyndolin encouraged him, very interested to hear what he had to say about him.

"Well I dunno what else to really say. Of course, as a knight I don't really see much of him. Though I do see him sitting with Gwyn and his other children in those meetings and celebrations. Where he usually looks just about as bored as I do. And sometimes I feel like he's even looking my way, though I can't really tell with his eyes hidden behind that crown of his. Yeah no I can't tell you exactly why I feel this way about him. There's just... something about him. He's so.. elegant, beautiful... Sorry I just can't really put it into words."

Gwyndolin usually hated these speeches about "O my love!" The amount of times he'd heard it from both siblings only for them to dump said lover like a few weeks later was astonishing. But he'd be lying if he said he didn't like this one, definitely not because it was all about him and he was basically just being indirectly confessed to.

He was trying his damn best to keep a gigantic smile off his face but in the end, he had to change the illusion ever so slightly, so Arias didn't look over and see his face gleaming, right after being rejected.

"Anyway. Sorry for leading you on like this. I guess I just wanted to see what it would actually be like to- Is that a snake?" Arias stopped and pointed beside Gwyndolin.

"Huh?" Gwyndolin looked to where Arias was pointing and there was in fact a snake peeking out from under his dress.

'oh dear' he thought to himself. Yes indeed this called for quick and careful action.

"AAAAHHH" Gwyndolin yelped. Jumping up from his spot on the floor and onto Arias' lap.

"Woah wai-" Was all that Arias managed to say before he landed on him. He didn't exactly catch him with elegance, in fact he fumbled so badly that they tumbled to the floor.

"I-Is it gone?" Gwyndolin sat up in panic. Arias grumbled as he sat himself up, looking around he didn't see it anymore.

"I think so. I guess you scared it off. You seem pretty good at that." He mumbled half-jokingly. Gwyndolin sighed in relief at an expertly executed plan that went without a hitch. He'd fixed the illusion spell in the confusion, so it looked like the snake had just slithered off.

"H-hehe... Sorry." He chuckled nervously. Then he stopped when he finally took in the surroundings and noticed that the sun had long since gone down.

"Oh my, the time. Apologies, I must get going now. 'Twas nice to talk to thee!" Was all he said before running off.

Arias just sat there, flabbergasted. He'd never met someone that... odd. It's like she was paranoid about something the whole time. Oh well, at least she wasn't too upset about him rejecting her.

Standing up, he dusted himself off though it seemed his surcoat had been stained by the grass and dirt. That was gonna be a pain to wash off. Oh well.

Hastily slithering through the now dim halls of Anor Londo, Gwyndolin was barely able to contain his excitement. Even the fact that he was definitely gonna get shouted at for being home late wasn't enough to take his mind from the memory of Arias telling 'Judith' how he felt about him.

Gwyndolin was truly ecstatic, at least until he bumped straight into his sister.

"Ohp! G-Gwyndolin? What art thou doing out here at such an hour?" She asked, shocked since she was unable to see him approach due to her immense height.

"Oh, uhm, nothing." He replied quietly, trying to let his excitement escape through his voice.

"Pardon? Thou knows thou must speak up otherwise I cannot hear thee clearly from down there." She yelled down to him. Although as usual she was speaking in a gentle tone, it felt more like she was bellowing at him because of her size.

"I WAS JUST GRABBING A GLASS OF WATER" Gwyndolin yelled at the top of his lungs. Even though he obviously didn't have a glass of water with him, there was no way for her to see from so high up.

"Ah alright. Well have a good evening dear brother." She cheerily responded, calmly strolling off afterwards, leaving only a few cracks on the tile floor.

"LIKEWISE." He shouted at her again, before slithering off to his room. Finally walking in, he closed the door behind him and flopped onto the bed, exhausted.

Though he couldn't stop himself from giggling giddily every few minutes thinking about what Arias had said. He had no idea how he could act on the feelings he now knew they shared, but he very was glad either way.

He laid comfortably on his soft bedsheets for a while before he heard a knock on the door.

"What is it!?"

"Hey, Gwyndolin?"

"Yes, what is it Faraam?"

"Dad said he wants to see you."

"..."

"Gwyndolin?"

"Oh fuck."

A/N Tried to get this chapter done quicker. As usual I gotta deal with life so I can't make them as fast as I'd like. Though there is something I'm working on as well in the background that I'll probably publish in a few months. As much as I try, ideas never seem to stop streaming from my head lol. Anyways see you soon.
