A/N: Very long time, no update. I know. I've been dealing with several different personal issues as of late and personal projects that have kept me away from projects on fanfiction…I do apologize and offer this small update as penance.
OOOOOOOOOOO
Sadie stood quietly at the window, arms wrapped around herself, eyes searching the landscape for anything that moved. She rarely spoke anymore and when she slept, she cried out because of the vampire tormenting her. That fucking Volturi that was hurting her from even a distance. Carlisle and Edward couldn't explain how Jane could be that powerful, could get into her head without knowing who exactly she was working with, but Sadie knew.
Rosalie had something to do with this.
Rosalie had been behind all of it from the very beginning.
Rosalie needed to die.
OOOOOOOOOOOOO
Emmett watched Sadie from across her room, saddened that he couldn't help her. Edward had told her that she was thinking about killing Rosalie more and more these days. Like that would magically solve all of their problems once and for all. As much as he wanted to make that blonde haired bitch pay for contacting the worst of the worst, he couldn't let Sadie become a murderer in the eyes of the Volturi. They would be justified then in putting her down like some kind of animal.
He had to reach out to her. Somehow.
"Sadie…"
The shifter remained silent, staring out at the world. The only sign that she had heard him was the slight shift in her weight.
"Sadie, you can talk to me you know…"
"There's nothing I can say. There's nothing you can say that will change any of this, Emmett." Sadie's voice was hollow. "They're coming because of her. She's brought the firing squad. She lost you, but she damn made sure that I paid. In the end, she wins."
Emmett pushed himself away from the far wall. "So you're giving it all up then? Giving in like some coward?"
Sadie's back didn't even stiffen at his words, her heart didn't speed up. "You told me that there's no use in fighting these people…"
"I didn't expect you to listen to me. I expected you to do what you always do and rebel." Emmett crossed the room and grabbed her by the shoulder, turning her to look up at him. "You are the most hardheaded person I know besides Edward and Bella. And you are standing here like you want everything in the world to just disappear."
Sadie looked up at him with eyes reddened with exhaustion. "Maybe I do."
When was the last time that I saw her smile? When was the last time I heard her laugh? When was the last time that we touched….just to express love?
Emmett banished the thoughts. He needed her to fight. Even if it was just him. This hollow Sadie wasn't his. This was a stranger. A shell of the woman that he had fallen in love with.
"What would Amanda think of you?" he questioned, his voice hard. "What would Felix and the others in your pack? Would they like how cowardly you've become or be proud of how you're just giving in because the idea of fighting against the odds seems so impossible?"
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sadie bristled at the mention of her sister and her packmates. "Don't talk about my sister, Emmett. Don't talk about my pack. You know nothing about them. You know nothing about what they would think of me, you oversized mosquito wannabe."
Emmett flicked her on the nose. "You don't know what I know about your sister and what I don't. And maybe I know that she'd think you're chicken shit for standing here, acting like some little crybaby." He poked her. "Are you a crybaby coward, Sadie?"
Sadie growled and swatted at his hand. "Don't touch me."
"What are you going to do about it?" Emmett taunted, touching her in various places with each word.
The wolf growled again and launched herself at him, knocking him to the ground, faster than he expected. They tumbled around on the floor, exchanging and blocking blows, tearing at each other. Sadie glowered as she ended up on the bottom of the pile several minutes later with Emmett's hand at her throat and her body on fire with heat underneath him.
Emmett pulled her to him and kissed her heatedly, a new kind of fight taking hold of them. Clothes were ripped off and lips and tongues clashed as Sadie and Emmett released passions that they had been holding back for so long.
So fucking long, Sadie thought, letting out a low moan as Emmett entered her. I've been away from him for so fucking long…and I need this…I need him…
Red eyes tried to burn into her mind's eye and Sadie stared right into them as Emmett pounded into her, taking her from one high point into the next without stop. Sadie sneered into the face of the pale beauty.
You can come for me, bitch. But in the end, I've got my man and I'm going to kick your ass if you even try to take me away from him!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jane blinked as she returned to her own mind and made a face as she brushed aside the mental images that she had had to endure. Her own libido, long subdued, did not need to be aroused by such a scene. She breathed softly, slowly, through her nose and out through her mouth, calming herself.
It appeared that this Sadie had a bit of fight in her after all. It would be fun taking her apart piece by piece in front of the Cullen family so that the rest of the Volturi could send a message that they were not to be messed with.
After all, she did like playing with her victims for a bit before sending them to their makers.
"Decisions,, decisions...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
A/N: I do apologize for the chapters being so short, but I've slowly been winding down interest in this story and running out of ideas. It happens sometimes. I do have news. The decision has been made to end this story sometime soon. I have no exact chapter number in mind, but you will know when it happens. I hope that you understand. This story has gone on for several years and has run its course, run wild and I've done my best to guide it back. Thank you for your support and blessed be. -Scarlet
