Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 13. I hope that I do alright with this chapter. I thought that it was going to be kind of hard to write Aeron into this episode. After all, the boys are going to be so screwed by this. Should Henriksen know about Aeron? Without further ado Chapter 13.
Chapter 13
"So what's it like, being an FBI guy?" Frannie asked, holding onto some papers.
Dean looked at her. "Well, it's dangerous. And the secrets we've gotta keep, oh. God, the secrets. But mostly it's, it's lonely."
"I know what you mean."
"Yeah."
Sam and Aeron were on the other side of the store talking to the manager.
"Helena was our head buyer. She… she was family, you know? She said it herself, every year at the Christmas party. She said we were the only family she had." The manager told them.
"So there were never any signs that she'd do something like this?" Sam questioned softly looking at the middle aged man.
"No. Still can't believe it, even now. That night, Helena came back to the store after closing. Cleaned out all of the display cases, and the safe. Edgar… our watchman… he caught her in the act. He didn't know what to do, he'd known her for years. He called me at home."
"And that's when she took his gun?"
"She shot him in the face. I heard him die. Over the phone."
Aeron patted his arm lightly with hers. "Any idea what her motive could have been?" She asked softly in a soothing tone.
"What motive? It makes no sense. Why steal all those diamonds, all that jewelry and then what? Just dump it somewhere, just hide it, and then go home and kill herself."
Dean looked over at Frannie. "She killed herself?"
"Well, the cops said. She dropped the hair dryer in the bath and fried herself. They should know, right?"
"Yeah. Well, thanks, Frannie, I think that's all I need."
"Really? Because I've got more. You know." She looked around slyly. "If you wanted to interview me sometime. In private?"
Dean looked over at Sam and Aeron. "Yeah. Yeah, I think that's a good idea. You're a true patriot, you really are. Why don't you write your number down there for me, that'd be good." Dean said with a smile.
Sam looked at the manager. This case was very confusing that is for sure. "So you never saw the security camera footage yourself, then?"
"No. The police, they took all the tapes, first thing." The manager explained to them.
Dean came up to the two younger hunters. "Yeah, of course they did." He waved the number in front of Sam that he had gotten from Frannie.
Aeron rolled her eyes. "Thank you. I think we're done here. We will be back if we have any other questions."

They pulled outside of a house.
"Five… this is it." Sam told Dean and Aeron.
"Friggin cops." Dean groaned.
"They're just doing their job, Dean."
"No, they're doing our job, only they don't know it, so they suck at it. Talk to me about this bank."
They got out of the car slowly and walked towards the house.
"Uh, Milwaukee National Trust. It was hit about a month ago." Sam told his brother and Aeron.
"Same M.O. as the jewelry store?"
"Yep, inside job, longtime employee, the never-in-a-million-years type. Dude robs the bank, then goes home and supposedly commits suicide."
"The guy Resnick, he was the security guard on duty?"
"Yeah. He was actually beaten unconscious by the tell who heisted the place."
"God."
"Yeah." Sam knocked on the screen door. "Mr. Resnick? Roland Resnick?"
A light floodlight turns on causing the three of them to shield their eyes from the brightness of the light.
"Son of a…" Dean groaned.
A young man comes to the door warily wondering who the hell was at his home.
"FBI Mr, Resnick."
"Let me see the badge." Ronald told them.
The three of them pulled their badges and showed them to Ronald.
"I already gave my statement to the police." Ronald told them.
"Yeah, listen Ronald, um… just some things about your statement we wanted to get some clarification on."
"You read it?"
"Sure we did." Aeron said, offering him a small smile.
Ronald looked at Aeron in surprise. "You come to listen to what I've got to say?"
"Well, that's why we're here." Dean said, looking at Ronald.
"Well come on in."
The three of them came in once Ronald opened the door for tem. They followed him down the hallway that was narrow and into a room that was covered in alien photos and conspiracy theory things all over the place.
"None of the cops ever called me back. Not after I told them what was really going on."
Aeron looked around the room. "And what did you tell them?" She asked, looking at him.
"Uh, they thought I was crazy."
Aeron quirked an eyebrow. Nothing would change what they had seen so he might as well tell them. "Come on, tell us."
"First off, Juan Morales never robbed the Milwaukee National Trust, okay? That, I guarantee. See, me and Juan were friends. He used to come back to thank me on my night shifts, and we'd play cards."
"So you let him into the bank that night, after hours?" Sam questioned looking at him.
"The thing I let into the bank… wasn't Juan. I mean, it had his face, but it wasn't his face. Uh, every detail was perfect, but too perfect, you know, like if a dollmaker made it, like I was talking to a big Juan-doll."
"A Juan-doll?"
"Look. This wasn't the only time this happened. Okay?" He handed Sam a folder. "There was this jewelry store, too. And the cops. and you guys, you just don't see it."
Sam looked at the folder. It looked like a hunter's folder. He had to admit that this was fairly good.
"Both crimes were pulled by the same thing."
"What's that, Mr. Resnick?" Sam asked, looking at him.
Ronald picked up a copy of a magazine called Fortean Times and held it up to his chest. The headline at the bottom read Birth of the Cybermen. "Chinese have been working on 'em for years. And the Russians before that. Part man, part machine. Like the Terminator. But the kind that can change itself, make itself look like other people."
Dean smirked. "Like the one from T2."
"Exactly! See, so not just a robot, more of a, a, a, a… mandroid."
Aeron rolled her eyes.
"A mandroid?" Sam said, looking at Ronald.
Aeron shook her head. "I feel like I stepped into an episode of Doctor Who." She muttered.
"And what makes you so sure about this, Ronald?" Dean asked, crossing his arms.
Ronald held up a finger and smiled wildly. He grabbed a VHS tape and put it into the player.
The three hunters took a seat to see what Ronald was going to show them.
"See, I made copies of all the security tapes. I knew once the cops got them they'd be buried."
Dean nodded his head.
"Here." He fast-forwarded the tape. "Now watch. Watch. Watch him, watch, watch. See, look. Th-, th-, there it is." He paused the tape. "You see that? He's got laser eyes."
The three hunters looked at the eyes of the man. They shared a knowing look with one another. They knew what they were dealing with.
"Cops said it was some kind of reflected light. Some kind of camera flare. Okay? Ain't no damn camera flare. They say I'm a post-trauma case. So what? Bank goes and fires me, it doesn't matter!"
Sam looked at him cautiously.
"The mandroid is still out there. The law won't hunt this thing down…. I'll do it myself. You see, this thing, it kills the real person, make it look like a suicide, then it sorta, like morphs into that person. Cases the job for a while until it knows it is fat, and then finds its opening. Now, these robberies, they're, they're grouped together." He gestured to the map on the wall. "So I figured the mandroid is holed up somewhere in the middle, underground, maybe. I dunno, maybe that's where it recharges its, uh, mandroid batteries."
Dean nodded his head impressed but no.
Sam stared intently at Ronald.
The three of them stood up.
"Okay. I want you to listen very carefully. Because I'm about to tell you God's honest truth about all of this." Sam began.
Dean smiled at his brother thinking that he was going to tell Ronald the truth.
Aeron crossed her arms waiting to see what Sam was about to say about what was going on.
"There's no such thing as Mandroids. There's nothing evil or inhuman going on out there. Just people. Nothing else, you understand?"
Dean tried to keep a straight face. It was hard because what Sam had said startled him. He really thought that he was going to tell the truth. Dean opened his mouth about to say something when he felt a harsh elbow to the ribs from Aeron.
"The laser eyes…" Ronald said desperately.
"Just a camera flare, Mr. Resnick. See, I know you don't want to believe this. But your friend Juan robbed the bank and that's it."
"Get out of my house! Now!"
"Sure. First things first."
Dean frowned at his brother even in more confusion. What the hell was going on in his brother's head.
"The tapes." Aeron said calmly.
"We need the tapes back that you copied. Classified evidence of an ongoing investigation." Sam said, looking at Ronald.
"No civilian should have." She walked over and stopped the player and took the tape out of it. She tucked it under her arm. "Thank you." She said with a nod of her head. "And the map too." She took it as well. "Boys." She looked at the two brothers.
The three of them left Mr. Resnick's home. They walked down the stairs.
"That was too Doctor Who in there." Aeron said, shaking her head.
"What do you mean?" Dean asked, looking at her.
"Seriously? You don't know Doctor Who? The magazine he showed us. That was a photograph of a Cyberman. One of Doctor Who's characters. He thinks it is real. It is just a television show from the BBC." She shook her head. "I am gonna have to show you when we have some downtime."
SNSNSN
They were back at their hotel room and back in their normal clothing.
"Man, that has to be the kicker, straight up. I mean, you tell that poor son of a bitch that… what did you say, remand the tapes that he copied? Classified evidence of an ongoing investigation?" Dean laughed. "That's messed up."
Aeron rolled her eyes.
Sam sat down in one of the chairs getting ready to watch one of the tapes. "What are you, pissed at me or something?"
"Nah, I just think it's a little creepy how good of a Fed you are. I mean, come on, we could have at least thrown the guy a bone. He did some pretty good legwork here."
"Mandroid?"
"And the Cyberman from Doctor Who. Really?" Aeron said looking at the dirty blonde haired Winchester.
"Except for the mandroid and Cyberman magazine part. I liked him. He's not that different from you or her or me. People think we're crazy." Dean said, crossing his arms.
"Yeah, except he's not a hunter, Dean. He's just a guy who stumbled onto something real. If he were to go up against this thing he'd get torn apart. Better to stay in the dark, and stay alive."
"Yeah, I guess." Dean placed tracing paper over the map and started marking it with a red pen.
Sam paused the tape on the flaring eyes. "Shapeshifter. Just like back in Saint Louis. Same retinal reaction to video."
"Eyes flare at the camera. I hate those friggin' things." Dean said, rubbing his face.
"You think I don't."
"Those fuckers are hard to chase after." Aeron said, shaking her head. She had only come across one and it had gotten away from her. She couldn't even gank the son of a bitch.
"Yeah, well, one didn't turn into you and frame you for murder." Dean said as he continued tracing a pattern on paper of the sewer system.
"Well, look. If this shifter's anything like the one we killed in Missouri…"
"Then Ronald was right. Alright, they like to layer up underground, preferably the sewer. And all the robberies have been connected so far, right?"
"Yeah." Aeron and Sam said at the same time.
"With the, uh, sewer main layout. There's one more bank lined up on that same sewer main." Dean told them.
"The City Bank of Milwaukee Financial Services and Investment." Aeron said, running a hand through her hair. "Looks like that's where we are going now. This will be interesting."
"You seem like you have never gone after a shapeshifter." Dean said, looking at her.
"I have. It got away from me. I was only 16 at the time when it got away. Thought it was a vamp." Aeron said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Let's just gank it before it kills anyone else."
SPNSPN
A security guard led Sam and Dean who were uninformed as Securserve Guard technicians and Aeron was dressed in a trainee Securserve Guard technician uniform. He led them down the main hall. "Well, we haven't had any flags go up on our system yet." He told them.
"No, this is a glitch in the overall grid." Dean told the guard. "We just want to make sure the branch monitors are kosher."
"Well, better to be safe than sorry, I guess."
"That's the plan."
The guard took them into the room that they wanted to have a look at. "Alrighty. Do you guys need anything else?"
"Oh, no, no, we'll be, uh, we'll be in and out before you know it, just a routine check." Sam told him.
"Okie-dokie." The guard said leaving the room.
"I like him. He says Okie-dokie." Dean said with a smile
Aeron rolled her eyes.
"What is the shifter?" Sam asked, looking at Dean.
"Well, then we follow him home, put a silver bullet through his chestplate."
Aeron rolled her eyes. "You make it sound like it is so easy."
The three of them sat down and began to watch the screens.
"Okay. Well, you got any popcorn?" Dean asked, looking at the two of them.
"Really Dean? You have to think about food?" Aeron shook her head.
SNSNSN
Time passed and they were still watching the screens.
"Well, it looks like mister okie-dokie is… okie-dokie." Dean said, rubbing his face.
"Maybe we jumped the gun on this, guys. I mean, we don't even know it's here." Sam said, running his hand through his long hair.
"Mm-hm…" Dean said distracted what was on the screen.
"Maybe we should just go back to the sewers and… and.."
Dean zoomed one of the cameras on an attractive young woman who was bending over.
Aeron groaned.
"Dean, we're supposed to be looking for eyes."
"I'm getting there."
"Oh really Dean. You are looking at a young woman's ass." Aeron growled out in anger.
"Wait a minute." Dean noticed something on the other screen. A middle aged man and his eyes flared. "Hello, freak."
"Got him." Sam said, grabbing Aeron's arm.
Aeron felt her face flush a little bit.
Dean looked at the screens. "Sam. Red!"
"What?" Sam asked, whirling around causing Aeron to bump into him when he turned. "Sorry."
The three of them watched the screen and saw Ronald scurrying up to the outer door with a chain and padlock chaining the door shut.
"Hello Ronald." Dean said, shaking his head.
"That idiot is gonna get himself killed." Aeron said, rubbing her face. "We need to keep him from killing himself. He has no idea what he is dealing with."
The three of them walked out of the room and into the hallway towards the main hall. Panicking people were running past them.
"And you said we shouldn't bring guns." Dean hissed at his brother.
"I didn't know this was gonna happen, Dean." Sam said, narrowing his eyes at his brother.
"No one knew that this was gonna happen damn it. He's gonna get himself killed. We can only hope that the damn feds don't show up as back up to the damn cops."
"She has a point." Sam said softly. He was hoping that this was just a nightmare. But he knew that this was the real thing. Ronald didn't listen to him.
"Just let me do the talking. I don't think he likes you very much, Agent Johnson and Agent Hale."
Aeron rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah yeah whatever Dean. He's getting into something that he should've never bothered with."
They walked into the main room.
"Now, there's only one way in or out of here, and I chained it up. So nobody's leaving, do you understand?" Ronald said, holding up the key.
"Hey, buddy. Calm down. Just calm down." Dean said coming towards him.
"What the… You! Get on the floor now."
Aeron scoffed.
"Okay, we're doing that. Just don't shoot anybody, especially us." Dean said, getting down on the floor.
Sam and Aeron followed Dean's lead.
"I knew it. As soon as you three left. You ain't FBI. Who are you? Who are you working for, huh? The men in black? You're working for the mandroid."
Aeron rolled her eyes. God this man was an idiot.
"We're not working for the mandroid!" Sam shouted.
"You, shut up! I ain't talking to you or the girl. I don't like either of you."
Dean gave Aeron and Sam the I told you so look.
"Fair enough."
"Get on 'em." He told one of the hostages. "Frisk them down, make sure they have no weapons on them. Go!"
A middle aged black man goes over to Sam, Dan and Aeron. He frisked them and found a knife in Dean's boot.
"Now what have we here?"
Sam gave him a look.
"I'm not just gonna walk in here naked!" Dean shouted at his brother.
"And you told me no weapons. Idiot." Aeron scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"Get back there." Ronald said, dropping the knife in the deposit box.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Damn it he was not thinking that Ronald would do that. That was his favorite knife too. "We know you don't want to hurt anybody. That's exactly what's gonna happen if you keep waving that cannon around, and why don't you let these people go?"
"No! I already told you. If nobody's gonna stop this thing, then I've got to do it myself."
"And you're gonna get yourself killed!" Aeron shouted at him.
"I wasn't talking to you!" He said pointing his gun at her.
Aeron didn't move. She has had guns pointed at her before.
"Hey, we believe you! That's why we're here." Dean said hoping that maybe he would put the gun down and stop pointing it at the youngest hunter of the team.
"You don't believe me. Nobody believes me! How could they?"
"Come here."
"What? No."
"You're holding the gun, boss, you're calling the shots. I just want to tell you something. Come here."
Ronald approached him cautiously. He leaned in.
"It's the bank manager." He said softly.
"What?"
"Why do you think we've got these getups, huh? We've been monitoring the cameras in the bank. We saw the bank manager. We saw his eyes."
"His laser eyes?"
"Yes. No. No. No, look we're running out of time, okay? We've got to find him before he changes into someone else.
"Like I'm gonna listen to you. You're a damn liar."
Dean held his hands up and got up onto his feet.
"I'll shoot you! Get down!"
"Take me. Okay? Take me with you, take me as a hostage. But we've gotta act fast. Because the longer we just sit here the more time he has to change." Dean took a deep breath. "Look at me, man. I believe you. You're not crazy. There really is something inside this bank."
"Alright. You come with me. But everyone else gets in the vault!"
The other hostages gasped and cried when they heard that.
Ronald ushered the hostages including Sam and Aeron into the vault. "Come on, move, move! Move, move!" He looked at Dean. "And you lock up."
Dean started to move the heavy door shut. "It's okay, everyone. Just stay cool." He shrugged at Sam and Aeron.
The two young hunters swallowed unhappy about what was going on.
Dean slammed the door shut.
A young red haired woman stayed after Dean. "Who is that man?"
"He's my brother." Sam said concerned about what his brother was doing.
"He is so brave."
Aeron scoffed. "He's either that or he is an idiot." She said, rolling her eyes.
Sam looked at Aeron. He could see the color draining from her face. "Aeron…"
Aeron's blue gray eyes shot up to his hazel ones.
"You alright there?"
"Hm? Fine." She hated cramped spaces. Really really hated them. They were uncomfortable.
"Are you certain about it?"
"Yes."
The vault went dark.
Aeron groaned. "Oh that is just fucking perfect." She said under her breath.
Sherry looked at Sam. "Has your brother always been so, um, wonderful? I mean, staring down that gun. And you know the way… he played right into that psycho's crazy head, telling him what he wanted to hear, I mean…"
Sam looked at her. God would she shut up.
"He's like, a real hero or, or something."
"Yeah. Yeah." Sam said, rolling his eyes.
The door opened. There stood Dean with a handgun.
"Oh my god, you saved us! You saved us." Sherry said fawning over the elder hunter.
"Actually, I just found a few more. Come on, everybody, let's go. Let's go." Dean said, looking at his brother and Aeron.
The people Dean had found walked inside.
"What are you doing?"
"Sam, Aeron, look, uh, Ronald and I need to talk to the two of you."
Aeron and Sam walked out of the vault slowly.
Dean shut the door behind him.
The two of them shrugged apologetically.
"It's shed its skin again. We don't know when. It could be in the halls, it could be in the vault." Dean told them.
"Oh that is just fucking perfect." Aeron groaned.
"You know, Dean, you are wanted by the police." Sam pointed out to his brother.
"Yeah."
"So even if we do find this damn thing. How the hell are we gonna get out of here?"
"Well, one problem at a time. Alright, I'm gonna do a sweep of the whole place, see if we can find any stragglers. Once we get everyone together we've got to play a little game of find-the-freak, so… here." He said handing silver letter openers to Sam and Aeron. "Found another one of these for you. Now stay here, make sure Ronald doesn't hurt anybody, okay? Help him manage the situation."
"Help him manage? Are you insane?" Sam yelled in outrage.
"That's what you have Aeron for."
"Fuck you Dean." Aeron snapped out.
Ronald looked over at them.
Dean gave Ronald the thumbs up with a grin. "Look, I know this isn't going the way we wanted…"
Understatement!" Sam shouted.
"But if we invite the cops in right now, Ronald gets arrested, we get arrested, the shifter gets away, probably never find it again, okay?"
Ronald peered out the window in plain view that he could get shot.
Sam gestured at Ronald glaring at his brother.
"Ron! Out of the light!"
"Seriously." Aeron said, looking at Dean.
"Yeah, Ron's game plan was a bad plan. I mean, it was a bit of a crazy plan, but right now crazy's the only game in town, okay?" He slapped both of their shoulders leaving the two of them with Ronald.
Sam leaned back with a sigh and rolled his eyes.
Aeron leaned against the wall and slid down onto the floor sitting down.
"Hi, Ronald." Sam scoffed a little bit.
Aeron looked at Sam. "We should crack that open some."
"The vault."
"Yeah." She said, running her fingers through her strawberry blonde hair.
Sam opened the door just a little bit. "I'm going to leave this open. Give you guys some fresh air, alright? But no one leaves this vault."
The phone rings and Ronald spun around panicking.
"I don't understand. Why are you helping him?" Sherry asked, looking at him.
"You wouldn't believe me or Aeron if we told you."
Ronald picked up the phone. "Hello?"
"I think I gotta get out of here!" The guard said in a pained voice.
"Look I'm very sorry, but you're just going to have to stay put, alright."
"Sam…" Aeron said, looking at the guard with a concerned look.
"What? What do you mean, demands?" Ronald asked in confusion.
"Ronald! Hang up!"
"No, I, I'm not a bank robber, I, I, I…"
"I've got to really get out of here." The guard said.
"Sir you can't leave." Sam pleaded with him.
"Sam there's something wrong." Aeron said, looking at him.
"Kind of a crime fighter, I guess." Ronald said.
"Ronald. Look…" Sam said to the hostages.
"No, I'm acting alone."
Aeron moved over to him. and grabbed the phone slamming it down. "Ronald the less those cops know the better. You ain't going to be helping your case by talking to them."
"Hey! I think this dude's having a heart attack!" A man yelled.
"Get a doctor!" A woman yelled.
"Great." Sam muttered. "Could be our guy. Could be a trick."
"Are you just going to let the man die?"
"No one's dying here." Sam looked at Ronald. "Cover the door." He picked up the phone. He looked at Aeron. "Watch him."
Aeron rolled her eyes. "Do you really trust him?" She questioned Sam.
"Dean does."
"Of course he does." She shook her head. "Doesn't mean I have to."
"Please Aeron."
Aeron huffed. "Fine."
"Look, one of the people could be having heart trouble. You need to send in a paramedic." Sam groaned. This man was not listening to him. "Just send in a paramedic, okay? And don't try anything else. Please." Sam hung up the phone.
"Paramedic? We don't have time for that, man!" The man yelled.
"Listen, I, I, I'm sorry, okay? I am, but nobody's getting out."
"He's dying right in front of you."
"Help!" The guard said.
"Come on, man, you've gotta unlock the front door. We've got to get him out of here." The man said, holding the guard up.
Ronald cocked his gun. "Both of you stay where you are."
Aeron looked at Sam with a look.
Dean came back and motioned over Aeron. Dean whispered to them. He told them that the Shapeshifter was the man that was holding up the guard.
Sam went into the vault. "You know what, Ronald? He's right, we've got to get this man outside. Come on. I've got you." Sam said, taking the guard from the shifter.
"Yeah, yeah, let me help you."
"Oh, I got him, it's, it's cool. Thanks." Sam said, getting the guard out of the way.
Dean glared at the shapeshifter and walked over to the vault.
"Thank you. Thank you."
"Sure." Sam told the guard.
"Thank you."
Aeron walked over to Sam and looped her arm around the guard's waist to help him.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" Dean said, looking at the shifter.
The shifter came out. "You got the gun, man. I mean, whatever." He got close enough that he attacked Dean knocking him to the ground and running into the dark hallways.
Dean got up back up on his feet and chased after him.
"Stop! Come back here!" Ronald yelled chasing after him which put him in the open again.
Sam's eyes widened when he saw the laser sight on Ronald's back. "Get down! Now!"
Ronald was shot in the chest falling to the ground.
Dean ducked behind the low wall with Sam and Aeron and the guard.
Sam pulled out the key and handed it to Dean. "Here. Take care of the guard. I'm going after the shifter."
"I'm going with you Sam."
Sam nodded his head to what Aeron had said.
The two of them ran to go and find the shifter and hopefully find him.
Dean crawled over to Ronald. "Sorry Ron. You did a really good job tracking this thing, You really did." He took the rifle and looked around. He ran off towards the guard.
SPNSPN
Sam and Aeron walked down the hallway.
Sam approached a broom closet and opened it. It was empty.
The two of them heard something behind them and quickly they turned.
Sherry screamed. She and the other hostages were together trying to get out of the bank. "Please. Please don't hurt us."
Aeron rolled her eyes. "We ain't gonna hurt you."
"You shouldn't be back here right now! You're in danger! Now go back to the vault. Now!" Sam ordered them.
They ran back towards the vault.
Aeron groaned. "I kind of wish that we never took this case. This is a lot worse than we've ever been on. Since we are at risk of getting caught by the cops and maybe the feds."
"We will get out of this." Sam told her.
"I know. But I just have a feeling."
SNSNSN
Dean held the guard in front of him and the rifle was in his other hand. He slowly went to the front door. "Everything's going to be alright." He told the guard.
"No, don't shoot! Don't shoot please." The guard said pleadingly.
"No, no, no, no, no! Don't even think about it!"
"Please! Don't shoot."
Dean looked around and saw the media outside. "Son of a… I said get back! Now!" He yelled. Dean let out a sigh. "Okay, go, go!"
The guard stumbled out and Dean went back inside.
Dean latched the door. "We are so screwed." Dean muttered to himself. He never wanted himself and his brother and a girl that he thought that he could probably call a friend.
SNSNSN
Aeron tripped over something. "Damn it what the hell."
Sam shined the flashlight and found shedded skin.
"Oh that is…" Aeron tried not to gag. She forced herself up off of the ground.
Sam pulled out his phone and called his brother.
"Yeah?"
"Slipped his skin. Aeron tripped over it."
"Hey." Aeron said, narrowing her eyes at him.
"What?"
"Yeah, bastard shifts fast. A lot faster than the one in Saint Louis."
"God, it's like playing the shell game. It could be anybody. Again."
"Yeah, I think most of the employees are out of the vault by now."
"Alright, you and red search every inch of this place, I'm gonna go round everybody up."
"Ok." Sam hung up his cell.
"What did he say?" Aeron asked, looking at Sam with a look. What the hell did Dean come up with?
"He told us to keep looking."
"And what's his plan?"
"He's going to try to get the others."
Aeron nodded her head. "We got our work cut out for us."
"We will get out of this okay."
Aeron looked at him. "Are you certain?"
"I am."
Aeron nodded her head. "Okay."
SNSNSN
Dean found the hostages and brought them back to the vault.
"And I thought you were one of the good guys." Sherry said, looking at Dean.
"What's your name?" Dean asked, looking at her.
"Why would you care?"
"My name's Dean."
"I'm Sherry."
"Hi, Sherry. Everything's gonna be alright. This will all be over soon, okay?" Dean shut the vault door again. He heard the landline ring. He put down his gun and answered it. "Yeah?"
"This is Special Agent Victor Henriksen."
"Yeah, listen, I'm not really in the negotiation mood right now, so…"
"Good. Me neither. It's my job to bring you in. Alive's a bonus but not necessary."
"Whoa. Kinda harsh for a Federal Agent, don't you think?"
"Well, you're not the typical suspect, are you, Dean?"
Dean looked horrified. How the hell did they figure it out?
"I want you, Sam, and Aeron out here, unarmed. Or we come in. And yes, I know about Sam and Aeron too. Bonnies to your Clyde."
"Yeah, well, that part's true, but how'd you even know we were here?"
"Go screw yourself, that's how I knew. It's become my job to know about you Dean. I've been looking for you for weeks now. I know about the murder in Saint Louis. I know about the Houdini act you pulled in Baltimore. I know about the desecrations and the thefts. I know about Aeron's sickness at the age of 14 that should have claimed her life and she got better with no signs of the cancer. Know about her brother, parents, and grandfather. I know about your dad."
"Hey, you don't know crap about my dad." Dean said darkly. Oh hell no. This agent wasn't going to bring in his father when he didn't know jack shit.
"Ex-marine, raised his kids on the road, cheap motels, backwood cabins. Real paramilitary survivalist type. I just can't get a handle on what type of whacko he was. White supremacist, Timmy McVeigh, to-may-to, to-mah-to."
"You have no right talking about my dad like that. He was a hero."
"Yeah. Right. Sure sounds like it. You have one hour to make a decision or we come in through those doors full automatic."
Dean pounded his forehead in frustration. He didn't want to bring Aeron into this because she had nothing to do with what he and Sam did. It just didn't seem right. How the hell did he even know about her? How did he even know that she was with them? He hung up the phone. Now what was he going to do? They were more screwed now than a little bit.

Sam and Aeron saw blood on the floor in front of a closet.
Sam opened the door and a half dressed Sherry fell out of it her throat was slit. "Dammit." Sam grabbed onto Aeron's arm and dragged her with him going back to the vault room.
The two of them ran back to the vault room. They saw that Dean was waiting for them.
"Hey. We've got a bit of a problem outside." Dean told them.
"We have a problem here." Sam told his brother.
They opened the vault up and the hostages inside flinched looking around.
"Sherry? We're gonna let you go." Dean told the red haired woman.
"What? Why me?" She asked in confusion.
"Uh, as a show of good faith to the feds, come on."
"Uh… I think I'd rather stay here, with the others."
Dean walked up to her. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist."
She looked at them warily. She saw Sam was fingering a silver blade and so was Aeron. She slowly walked towards them.
Sam, Dean, and Aeron pushed Sherry back to the hallway.
"I thought you were letting me go."
Dean shoved her forward holding her head and forced her to look at the body.
Sherry screamed.
"Is that community theater, or are you just naturally that good?" Dean commented.
"This is the last time you become anybody ever." Sam hissed.
"No! Oh god! Oh…" She fainted.
Aeron quirked an eyebrow.
The brothers looked at her baffled and then to the other body.
Dean removed the rifle from his shoulder and kneeled over the Sherry that they had brought in. He raised the blade with a shrug.
Sam grabbed his wrist. "Dean, wait, wait, wait. What's the advantage of this plan? I mean, fainting now wouldn't help it survive."
"Unless that was really her…" Aeron said softly.
Dean looked over at the other body. "Huh." Dean got up and kneeled over the other body. They looked up.
The body opened its eyes and lashed out grabbing Dean by the throat.
Dean struggled stabbing at it.
Sherry woke up screaming.
Aeron grabbed onto her and she was thrashing against her. Aeron's cheek was hit by her flying hand. "Sam."
Sam gathered her into his arms.
"Get her outta here! Now!" He said struggling with the shapeshifter.
The three of them got out of there leaving Dean alone with the shifter.
Dean struggled with the shifter and he was kneed in the chin. Dean ducked behind a corner to avoid one of the SWAT members.

Sherry was against the wall terrified. "Don't shoot! Don't shoot! I work here! I work here. Please… get me out of here. Get me out of here."

Three of them find Sam and Aeron.
Sam and Aeron stopped.
"Shit." Aeron said softly under her breath. This was not going to end well at all.
"Freeze! Let me see your hands."
Sam turned and somehow took the three of them out. "Come on." He told Aeron.

Dean recovered and went into a fighting stance. He tussled with the shifter. He headbutted it twice. He slashed at her again, but she grabbed his wrist and wrenched it up. He grasped her forearm and her skin slipped off. "Gross."
She kicked him hard between the legs and several times in the face.
He grabbed her leg and wrenched it back, shoving her against the wall. He struggled with her for a few moments and stabbed her with the blade.
She groaned and Dean allowed her to slide to the floor.
Dean heard a sound and flinched. He turned and kneeled in front of her.
Two uniformed people stood behind him.
Dean looked back panting.

Three SWAT armored people came out of the bank carrying their weapons. They ran up the stairs outside of a building. They walked onto the deck of the parking ramp. They walked to the Impala and got into it. The three of them removed their masks. The three of them panted.
"We are so screwed." Dean said, gripping the steering wheel.
Sam and Aeron nodded their heads.
"Are you certain Dean?" Aeron said softly, looking at him.
"About what?"
"He knew about me?"
"Yes."
"Fuck… I was hoping that he wouldn't have picked up my damn file."
"Aeron, he was bound to pick it up."
"But he has my record and it's not even a bad one. Only a hospital record from when I was 14 and I got well in a short amount of time. Miracle…" Aeron shook her head. "Now he's going to hunt all three of us."
Sam groaned. "And laying low won't be easy."
"No, sadly it won't."
"We won't get caught." Dean said, pulling out of the parking lot. "I will make sure of that."
"I can only hope that it won't happen." Aeron said looking at the two of them.
The three of them now knew that they were all on a run from the law. And it wasn't good.

That is the end of Chapter 13. I hope that you enjoyed it. Please let me know what you think. What do you think of Henriksen knowing things about Aeron that weren't supposed to be known by anyone but Sam and Dean since she kind of told them almost everything. Please leave a review and I will get the next chapter up soon. Until next time.
