Hey it's me again listen one thing that I forgot to say or actually a few things that I forgot to say in the last chapter is that. First off I have a part-time job so I don't think I'll be able to update as often as I'd like to and also I'm more of a visual writer, if I can't picture something it's hard to put it into words so some details may be vague.

Also there will be constant plot changes and twists along the way. Also my goal it to get between 1-5k words per chapter, what can I say I like to be lengthy.

Oh, and also this story takes place Post season 4 so yes Evie is back to being a land girl again. Welian went back to her pod and Ondina has returned also, so has Sirena I'm not racist or culturally biased but I just feel that Sirena was better suited also I'll be bringing back Aquata as well she seriously didn't get enough screen time. And she still won't but she'll return…eventually, still working out the details. I just make this up as I go along.

Also the chapter would have been more detailed and longer but I want to get this posted before I lose my motivation. So sorry.

Please read notes at the bottom.

The first thought that comes to Ryan as his eyes flutter opened and his blurry vision comes into focus is…

"What the hell happened?!"

He doesn't even realize he says it out loud. Although there isn't anyone there to hear him.

He sits up propping himself on his elbows and notices that he's on the beach, and from the looks of his surroundings he's still on Mako Island.

He rubs his head with a slight headache starting to form as his entire body has this tingly feeling that wasn't there before. He ain't exactly sure what it is but he knows that it's something different.

A part of him is wondering how the hell did her get here, one minute he's climbing up the side of the volcano, then he sees a weird-ass pool at the bottom of the funnel, next he falls in and hits the water, and then the next…..

He's here?…On the beach?!

That's when it suddenly hits him, he must've blacked out after falling in after taking a dive, and if that's the case then why isn't he drowned and dead, and how did he get here?

The question keeps circling Ryan's mind, consuming his thoughts racing about a hundred miles an hour.

Goddamn it! What's going on?

However he's soon brought back out of his thoughts and down to earth again by the sound of a faint voice that seems to be calling out his name that is getting stronger and stronger.

"Ryan? Ryan?" A voice that belongs to his mom calls out.

The older woman comes stumbling out of the jungle through the trees and right out onto the sand of the beach. Her eyes skimming all around the sandy plane. Eventually they lock onto what they were looking for.

"Ryan?!" Julia scream out of relief at the sight of her son laid out on the beach covered in dry sand.

She instantly rushes over to his side and bends down to him kneeling on the sand.

"Where have you been, why weren't you in your tent, have you been out here all night?" The bombardment of questions Julia asks him manage to go in but no words come out at first seeing as Ryan is still feeling a little light headed from last night's crazy experience. That's sure as hell the last time he goes snooping around or climbing on top of that without any climbing gear or equipment.

Ryan finally brings his gaze to his mother as their eyes meet. The young man opens his mouth to speak in an attempt to provide a quick and shitty explanation, but hopefully one that he could manage to sell under the circumstances of the situation.

However, before he can make so much as even a sound. Both him and his mom hear the voice of an older man yelling through the dense green palm trees.

They see the only other person on this island besides them. Kurt who stumbles out of the tree and his eyes scan the beach until they find his wife and son who he's just spent the last hour combing this entire island for.

He rushes towards him the welcoming feeling of relief at seeing his son flow through him.

He slows down once he's only just a few feet away and kneels on the sand and embraces Ryan into a quick yet warm hug.

"Oh Ryan, where have you been your mom and I have been looking for you for almost an hour now." Kurt chastises, his tone going from relieved to strict and serious just like that in a heartbeat. "We thought about letting you sleep in just in case you weren't able to sleep well last night

Ryan sees this immediately, as that sinking feeling returns back to him again.

Quickly trying to remember what his shitty excuse was he almost blurts it out.

"I-I…I had to go the bathroom this morning and went off into the jungle, and then I wound up out here I guess I just was a little more exhausted than I thought I was…" Ryan jokes with a chuckle to match.

Although his parents don't seem to share his sense of humor. As they both give him stern looks.

"Okay, I'm sorry for not telling you where I was but can you blame me I mean it's an island where the hell am I going to go?" Ryan rhetorically remarks.

They both help him up as they walk back to their campsite.

They decided it was best just to pack up and go in case Ryan wasn't feeling very good.

Despite his pleas to the contrary he still didn't bother trying to argue and went along with it.

After packing up and getting on the boat they headed back for he mainland.

As predicted Mr. McLaren or Doug as his dad called him was already waiting at the docks as they pulled in along with a girl with dark brown hair loosely hanging down her shoulders and back that looks around his age.

After tying off the the boat the passengers jump back onto the dock. As Julia is passing her son the luggage and bags they brought with them.

"Well hopefully you lot had a splendid trip out there." Doug offers.

Kurt looks at him with a chuckle followed by a few nods. "It was interested, Doug. I can't thank you enough for lending us your boat." He praises.

Doug just chuckles, "Think nothing of it, Kurt. I'm glad that you all enjoyed yourselves."

"Oh by the way I'd like you all to meet my daughter, Evie?" Doug gestures to the brunette with the water bottle in her hand standing next to him.

The girl now named, Evie. Gives each of them a nice wave with a enthusiastic smile to match.

"Evie, this is Kurt, and his wife Julia, who's going to be your new principle starting Monday, and their son Ryan."

"It's nice to meet you all, I hope you've enjoyed this place so far?" Evie quires.

"Oh, thank you Evie. It's been great I can already see that we're going to be getting along just fine at school." Julia tells the girl.

"Yeah, I'll say. Everyone's really excited about you going to be running things at Suncoast High." Evie tells her soon-to-be new principal.

"Well we better get going, hey Doug would you mind giving me a hand with some of these because, Ryan isn't feeling too well this morning?" Kurt requests.

Doug nods in reply picking up a few of the bag as the adults went ahead of the kids.

Ryan and Evie were behind a few steps.

They just gave blank stares at each other for a moment.

Ryan was the first to break the awkward silence by giving a nod followed by a sheepish smile.

"Hey, how you doin? I'm Ryan Halvers." He greets putting out the standard handshake.

Evie accepts immediately returning the handshake. "Evie McLaren, it's nice to meet you Ryan."

"Yeah well, truth is I ain't really good at making first impressions," he admits. " How am I doing so far?"

Evie manages a small laugh, "You're doing rather exceptional, if I do say so myself."

"So you just got here?"

Ryan nods with a 'Mmm-Hmm'.

"So I was wondering, how did you find Mako?" Evie questions.

This earns her a strange look from Ryan, "What do you mean by that?"

Evie shrugs innocently. "I was just wondering I mean. I've lived here in Gold Coast all my life. If there's one thing I know is that a lot of people tend to talk about that island." She explains.

Ryan arches an eyebrow at this. "Why, is it one of those places where kids from around her go to have those secret parties, or go and get drunk when the parents aren't around or something like that?" He says both half joking and with a hint of sarcasm for good measure.

Evie laughed at that, "Are you always this much of a joker, or is it just trying to make that good impression you claim you aren't so good at?"

"Bit of both actually."

"But seriously though have you…seen anything strange while you were out there?" She asks almost demanding from a certain perspective.

Ryan gives a sheepish look making sure that all then were out of hearing range.

"You know what aside from the fact that we don't know each other, I bet it wouldn't you wouldn't really care if I told you that I climbed that little volcano out there at Mako like Jack did to that old beanstalk everyone's telling their kids these days, and I may have…" Ryan trails off but stops himself, last thing he needs is to tell one of his…possible new friends all about a crazy-ass story.

Evie looks at him warily, "You may have…what?" She quires for him to finish being truly intrigued.

Ryan shakes his head dismissing the thought. "Never mind, just trust me you wouldn't believe me if I told ya, anyways."

"Hey, uh you mind if I have a few swigs, I'm a little parched?" Ryan asks as nicely as he can cause his throat is starting to feel dryer than the Sahara desert right now.

"Sure." Evie replies.

Ryan reaches out with his hand towards the water bottle until his hand is only a few inches away from it.

Out of the blue that's when he notices the water bottle in Evie's hand suddenly bursts. The cap goes flying off and the water from the bottle is blasted right in her face, some slightly soaking the top of her shirt.

Ryan jumps back as his eyes go wide at this as he jumps back the water from the bottle barely missing him.

The adults hear this and turn their heads to see the top part of Evie now soaked as is part of her hair.

Ryan who now finds his thoughts, not knowing what the hell just happened or how to respond.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry!" Ryan almost blurts out in a panic.

Doug then drops the backs and jogs over, "Evie, you alright. What happened?" The older man asks. Turning to Ryan who looks like a deer caught in headlights and is unable to say anything.

"He asked for a drink, and I forgot to put the cap back on the bottle when he grabbed it splashed me by accident, dad. It's fine." Evie assures her father, and in Ryan's defense.

Ryan how clings to ever word that comes out of her mouth is both shocked and confused. Shocked, for her helping keep his ass from being thrown in the fire. Confused, at why she's lying to cover his ass in the first place?

"Is that the way of it?" Doug asks seriousness clear in his tone.

Ryan pulls himself together. "Yeah, sorry about that, guess I just got a stronger grip than I realized?" He guesses sheepishly at the older man.

"Well that's alright, accidents happen I guess."

When Ryan looks back to Evie she looks almost scared. That the kind of scared you'd see in 'Friday the 13th' or 'Nightmare on Elm Street' right before a serial killer is about to kill their next victim.

She turns to her dad, "Um dad, I have to go I just remembered something I have to do." Evie quickly claims.

Doug looks at his daughter slightly concerned, but she's had these sort of things before.

"Sure alright, but make sure to call me later if your going to be a while." He requests.

Evie smiles and quickly takes off, a little too, quickly as a matter of fact.

Later on after helping unpack Ryan got dressed in suitable clothing that is until he reached for another water bottle he left out from the day before that he forgot to put back in the fridge.

Once he reaches for it he notices the water in the bottle starting to…move?

Ryan then draws his hand back as the water returns to normal, then he repeats the process as the water keeps moving away from him like magnets with the same ends facing each other.

In one quick and swift motion he tries to grab the bottle only for it to fall to the ground and his frustration is starting to get the better of him as the water bottle keeps running away from him.

After a moment letting his anger start to seep through suddenly the bottle starts to steam which makes Ryan's eyes go wide in shock.

Next thing he knows the bottle literally explodes and he's splashed with water right in the chest and let's out a frustrated grunt he moves to the closet only to feel this weird sensation running throughout his entire body and immediately he feels his feet give out under him.

He falls to the floor but it feels very different this time. He feels his bare chest against the cold wood.

To confirm his feelings he looks down at his chest an sees that it is in fact bare. He didn't take his shirt off though. He scratches his head only to find that his hair feels like it usually does when he comes out of the shower wet and slick.

However when Ryan tries to get to his feet he realizes he can't for some reason he then looks down and his eyes pop right out of their sockets at what they see, believe it or not.

His muscular and slightly hairy legs are gone and have been replaced by a singular muscle that comes in the form of that of a giant aqua blue…TAIL!!!!

And it's not just any tail he has a goddamn FISH TAIL!!!

What the fuck??!!

He honestly doesn't give a shit if this is a dream or a nightmare but it better be one of them because this better not be really happening.

Ryan slaps himself across the face silently praying that this ain't real.

With a shaking hand he reaches out and touches the blue scales trailing from his waist to his lower half and feel exactly almost like fish.

"Jesus Christ, this is real!" Ryan confirms almost in horror.

He then try's to find anything to cover it up and sees a towel that he was going to use for his shower later tonight, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

He tries reaching for it over by the counter of his small table. But to no avail. So he tries crawling over feeling the weight of his tail dragging behind.

Eventually he reaches it and grabs the towel and immediately starts trying to dry it out or something just anything that'll convince him that this is nothing but an illusion that'll disappear.

After a solid minute of drying off the sleek wetness of his tail the sensation returns again and watches as his tail turns back into legs wearing the same shorts and shirt that he was before.

Ryan's heart begins racing as the line between reality and crazy started to seemingly disappear.

He even runs his hands through his hair to find that it is now dry as sandpaper.

He stands up tossing the towel away and just doesn't know what to think and heads straight for the Ocean Cafe to meet up with David like he said yesterday.

Of course when he gets there the cafe is closed but for some reason somehow David is sitting there waiting almost for someone.

Of course, unexpectedly David was actually really insisting on hiring him for some reason. He could tell because about a minute after Ryan sat down he was going on and on about how he's had time to consider and could really use the extra hands around the cafe and didn't even take so much as one look at his resume.

Ryan was about halfway towards the door about to leave, when suddenly he feels a tap on his shoulder from behind.

He turns around to see Zac standing there less than a foot away from him with a big smile plastered all over his face.

Ryan gives that tanned skin Aussie a weird look, the reason why being because…isn't this place supposed to be closed until 10AM.

The boy quickly shakes off that looks and puts on his best fake surprised looks. "Hey Zac, what's up?" He greets.

Zac casually shrugs, "Oh nothing really, I just wanted to swing by for a nice smoothie, that's all."

Ryan gives a weird chuckle, "You do know that this place doesn't open until 10 today, right?"

Zac almost chokes on the question. "Well, thing is David and I are close mates so he's able to pull a few strings since he's the boss." He explains.

Ryan still isn't biting. "Isn't that against the rules or law and regulations, I mean I know this is a different country but I know that some countries have similar laws."

What Zac is about to say next is history, as both boys turn towards the door where they see 3 girls walk in, 3 very…gorgeous girls walk in. Ryan notes.

They all appear to be similar in height and in age as well. Also he sees that they are all wearing the same kind of ring which is silver with a round aqua blue gem in the center. One of them has olive tan skin and dark brown hair, while the second one has a much paler skin with shiny blonde hair with tresses, and the third really catches his attention she has sun kissed tan skin and golden blonde hair with curls going past her shoulders.

Zac looks at the girls who have unreadable expressions and chuckles nervously.

"Hey, what are you lot doing here?" Zac asks the three of them almost as if he were chastising them.

"Uh…Ryan this is my sister Mimmi," gesturing to the olive skinned brunette, "And her friends Sirena," pointing to the shiny blonde, "and Ondina" pointing to the golden blonde.

"Girls, this is Ryan Halvers, he's just moved here from the United States of America, with his parents." Zac introduces.

Ryan who feels completely oblivious right about now decides to cut the awkward tension.

He holds out his hand and greets Mimmi and Sirena with a handshake. He's about to do the same to Ondina but instead of a hand he gets splashed in the face by water, from a cup she was holding.

"What the hell was that for?" Ryan yells out angrily.

Seeing that there's still quite a bit of water left in the cup he smirks and then tries to repeat what happened with the water bottle earlier only this time on purpose rising a hand swiping it up and the water from the cup blasts right into Ondina's face.

The blonde lets out a gasp and looks at Ryan menacingly.

However he feels a familiar sensation, oh shit!

He transforms and falls onto his back as his bare chest and

Not a moment later he hears something hit the ground and looks up to see…another tail belonging to the girl he just soaked out of revenge. Only hers is orange instead of blue and unlike him her chest is covered by some kind of weird orange-ish bikini top thing covering her breasts, damn oh well kinda typical when it comes to women.

Her blonde hair is slick and wet same as his and glares at him.

Well Ryan may not know much about the kinda weird shit that goes on around here, but he does know enough that after discovering that he's related to Nemo after growing a tail and just happening to run into a bunch of girls and one who he gets a little wet happens to grow one herself, ain't a coincidence…no way in hell.

Both the mermaid and the merman prop themselves up on their elbows.

Ryan looks to the others for their reactions, he's waiting for them to yell, scream, drop their jaws.

But instead there's just….nothing!

That strikes something with him as he notices the strange calmness to the situation.

Zac let's out a stressful sigh, "Well this certain complicated things."

"No shit!" Ryan agrees practically exasperating almost.

That's when Ryan's eyes snap back at the realization that he's definitely missing something.

"Aaaaand you guys aren't freaked out by this?" Ryan questions.

Zac puts a hand to his head, seeing that his plan has gone to hell. "This wasn't how it was supposed to go you guys we agreed that we'd get him alone and then talk to him." Looking to the girls.

The one with the dark hair perks up, "We were, only we didn't know that Ondina was intending to put her own plans into motion." She chastises the golden blonde with the fish tail flopping on the ground.

"Your plan was taking too long, and the longer we wait the worse the situation gets for us." The blonde argued.

"And now look what happened, you're lucky it's just us and him otherwise, if someone else walked in on us they'd see your tail but now, Ondina." Mimmi states.

"Well excuse me, but he isn't like Zac he isn't a pure merman like him and the mermaid council will want to know what happened last night, and what do we tell them that we unintentionally neglected our duties, once again and let a land boy fall into the moon pool, is that it?"

Ryan was latching onto every word that was being said around him 'moon pool' and 'mermaid council' really seem to stick with him.

"Yeah, well thing is Ondina sometimes things like this require patience and delicacy." Zac tells her off.

That's when Ryan decides to interject holding up a hand wanting to ask a question. "Hey, sorry to break up this little love-fest ya got going on over there, but I got a quick question….WHO AND WHAT RHE HELL ARE YOU GUYS?!!"

Ryan's sudden outburst seems to render the others quiet. They only spare glances at one another then the shiny blonde, Sirena takes a few steps towards him and holds her hand out.

Ryan looks at Sirena cautiously. The next thing he knows he feels another sensation as his blue tail begins steaming. To confirm his suspicious he looks between Sirena and his smoking tail. He realizes she is doing that to him.

After a few moments the steam dissipates and his tail changes back into legs again. With his normal attire that is once again dry as ever.

Ryan gets up slowly, keeping his eyes on Sirena. Despite the little trick she just did, the fact that she did it still sets off some red flags for him.

Out of the corner of his eye he spares the other blonde, Ondina…a glance and sees her doing the same thing to her own orange tail.

A moment later she's back in her own clothing as well and gets to her feet. Almost immediately she tries to throttle Ryan but Sirena stops her with her arm.

"That's enough Ondina, you tried it your way and look what happened!" Sirena complains. Trying to get her friend to listen to reason.

Ondina just huffs, "Whatever?" She says carelessly backing off.

"Okay Ryan, this is happening this is real, and this is completely fucking insane!" He whispers to himself.

"Actually it isn't." The voice belonging to Mimmi assures him stepping forward.

"Really? Okay then, well I may not be a detective but I've seen a lot of sci-fi, crime, and fantasy dramas to know that whenever there's a big reveal that happens, like the one that just went down about 2 seconds ago usually there's a bigger reaction. If there ain't that can only mean two things. Either you guys are very desensitized to weird shit that goes on around here or two you guys came in here knowing that I'd grow gils the moment, Goldie locks there decided to wash my face off?" Ryan surmises. Pointing to Ondina who looks annoyed at the little nickname he gave her when makes a playful smile tug at his lips at her reaction.

"Okay, here's the deal you all got 60 seconds, to summarize what's happening right now, or in outta here." He tells them.

"We don't have to tell you anything." Ondina claims.

Mimmi gives a sigh, "We're mermaids!" She says straight out.

Ryan really is starting to let those two little words sink in. There's part of him that's laughing inside that's considering this all one big joke. Although, another part of him is actually putting the pieces of the puzzle together. He just can't believe it…Mermaids.

"Mermaids?" He questions to the girls, "Like actual mermaids?" They nod again.

It all makes sense now the oversized tail, the whole new sensitivity to water. All signs pointing to mermaids.

"Sssso…you're saying that I'm a mermaid?" He bluntly asks pointing to himself.

Mimmi, and Sirena let out a fit of girlish giggles, and Zac manages a chuckle. All of them suddenly amused, even the grouchy bitch Ondina is finding this amusing but barely giving something between a scoff and a dead laugh.

"What, did I say something because this is one of those very few times where I'm not trying to be funny?" Ryan says monotoneishly.

Mimmi perks up after quitting her fit of giggles, "Technically, we're mermaids cause we're girls/women. The right term to describe you would be a, Merman."

"Uh…?" Ryan looks lost.

"Perhaps we could explain under much better circumstances, there's a place we can go that's private and discuss this more, Ryan." Mimmi offers.

Ryan hesitates for a moment before accepting and filled them as the group walks out of the cafe down the pier and a few minutes later they are at the old principal's house Rita Santos. Who he finds out is also a mermaid, damn is everyone around her something out of some kind of a fantasy.

What's cool though is the place they call the grotto has some kind of secret entrance that's like something out of Batman's Batcave which is so cool. Where he also finds Evie who he can only guess is also a mermaid.

They basically give Ryan a quick run-down and especially about that little lagoon he stumbled across back at Mako. Ondina in particular seems to be giving him shit for it.

"You fell into the pool which means that you've scorned us more than you can possibly imagine!" The voice belonging to Ondina criticizes.

"Hey, don't give me that shit, it's not like I went diving into that goddamn pool, do I honestly look like a fucking daredevil?!" Ryan yells at the golden blonde.

"It doesn't matter whether you meant to fall into the moon pool or not, the fact remains you've been turned into a merman, and violated one of our most sacred laws." Ondina complains.

That strikes a nerve for Ryan as rage becomes clear as day on his face stepping up to the smaller girl that's only shorter by a foot or two.

Pointing a finger, "Shut up! Now you listen to me, up until a few hours ago I didn't even think that mermaids were real, that you all were just a bunch of bullshit that existed in stories, legends, children's books, and in Disney movies and tv shows. So why don't you just shut your mouth for two fucking seconds and let me have say in this thing will ya!" Ryan says warningly, anger evident in his tones as much as it is his face.

Ondina puts her hands to her sides and starts looking almost as mad as him. But she finally lets out a frustrated breath taking a step back.

"Fine, go on you've only got 60 seconds." Ondina informs and crosses her arms across her chest and begins tapping her foot impatiently.

Geez! Who knew that in real life some mermaids are cranky bitches that just have a thing agents humans or 'land people' especially men.

If that's the case then Ryan makes a mental note to show this bimbo fish-bitch who she's messing with if she gets any ideas.

He turns back to the others, letting out a deep sigh. As they await his side of the story.

"Look, I don't know anything except for the fact that I just moved here less than a day ago, and my folks wanted to take a little camping trip out to that island and I felt restless and my sense of adventure got the better of me when I wanted to take a closer look at the volcano. So I climbed up the side believe it or not and once I made it to the top I looked down inside the tube where I saw this pool at the bottom at first I just thought it was odd cause, what kind of volcano has water in it…anyways but once the moon was right over me the moonlight shined into the tube and then the water at the bottom started bubbling like a damn jacuzzi. I wasn't sure though and tried to get a closer look, but I didn't realize how far I was leaning in and lost my footing and took a big ass dive into the water down below, next thing I know I feel really weird, then I blacked out right after that and the next thing I know I wake up on the beach alone and ain't got a single damn clue as to how I got from one place to another, and how I was even still alive and not sleeping with the fishies, the end." Ryan concludes.

A moment of silence passes by in the grotto as several of the other occupants in the room are sharing looks with each other. Ryan sees this and gives a knowing look to them.

"Why do I get the feeling you all know something I don't?" He puts out there.

Mimmi steps forward climbing down the steps until they are face to face "Because that's only one half of the story, or at least there are parts missing that you wouldn't know about." The olive skinned northern mermaid tells the land boy.

Ryan gives her a curious look, "What are you talking about?"

Mimmi gives a sigh looking down for a moment before looking back up, "We were there that night at Mako, when you and your parents were camping out."

Sirena then speaks up, "Usually it's the one night of the month where the pod gets to celebrate out on the reef in the light of the full moon." Her eyes sparkling at the talks and experiences she heard from her older sister Aquata.

"But it's also the one night where we must be cautious, where if a human falls into the moon pool while the full moon is at its highest they turn into a mermaid or in your case merman."

"If that's true then why the hell didn't you do something to scare me off or something?" Ryan asks Sirena who looks at him with regret.

"We couldn't." the shiny blonde claims.

"Not without revealing ourselves to you." Mimmi finishes for her.

"What do you mean, 'without revealing yourselves'," Ryan air quotes, "I looked right down into that pool there wasn't anyone in there, and I'm pretty sure it's hard to miss three mermaids in a glowing, bubbling, hot spring of a pool?"

Mimmi and Sirena share a look nodding to each other.

With a wave of their hands they both…disappear?!

Ryan's jaw hits the ground. As his head starts scoping all over the place for his eyes roaming all over the room for Sirena and Mimmi.

"Where'd they go?"

Suddenly out of nowhere both Mimmi and Sirena appear on either side of him.

"Holy shit!" Ryan jumps to his feet away from the couch as both girls giggle at his reaction.

"Hahaha." Ryan imitates sarcastically. "Yeah really funny, your both hilarious, laugh it up won't ya." His face turning serious again.

Ryan manages to shake off their stupid attempt at fun, before he becomes actually amazed.

He manages to work up a laugh, smirking impressed. "I gotta admit that's one helluva trick, what was that anyways?" Ryan pries.

Mimmi and Sirena look to each other before they turn to Rita who gives a nod of approval.

"It's a mermaid thing-" Mimmi begins.

"And merman." Zac interjects.

Mimmi shoots her brother a look, "Yes, and merman."

"Through concentration, we have the ability to cloak ourselves

Ryan curiously raises an eyebrow intrigued, "Cloak…you mean like turn invisible?" He inquires.

Mimmi tilts her head, "That's one way of describing it I guess you could say."

That's when an idea pops into his head, "Huh? I wonder?" He says more to himself to the others.

He the raises his hand and swipes it across his face, closing his eyes. But when he opens them but nothing happens.

Mimmi, Sirena, Zac, even Rita all manage a small laugh at Ryan's poor attempt to cloak himself.

Evie and Zac end up chuckling.

"Damnit! And they say first times the charm." Ryan groans out.

"Just give me a minute I'm new to this." He tells the crowd.

Taking a deep breath and closes his eyes exhaling and with all his concentration he visualizes himself turning invisible and then opens his eyes and then in one quick motion he raises his fingers and snaps them together and…Voilà!

He disappears. There are a few gasps that follow after the land boy completely cloaks himself successfully.

Ryan looks down if they could see him right now he'd be showing one big ass shit-eating victory grin.

He looks down feeling his hands and arms and the rest of his body which is invisible.

"Well, who's laughing now, huh?" Ryan chides aimlessly.

The others are too stunned but his prematurely display of control over his cloaking ability.

A mischievous and yet playful smirk makes its way onto his face as he sees the golden blonde, Ondina who seems to be the only one in the room that is unimpressed.

Well we'll see about that. Ryan says mentally.

Carefully and quietly he makes his way over to Ondina until he's only about a few inches away from her in front of her face as she's leaning in the railing.

Ryan then brings his fingers together and quickly snaps as he comes back into the visible spectrum.

"WHAT'S UP?!" Ryan joyously yells taking Ondina by surprise.

The blonde girl let's out scared scream as flings herself away from the railing and against the stone wall.

Ryan bursts out laughing at Ondina's reaction. "Wow…you know the tail may take some getting used to, but I can definitely work with this."

Ondina who currently has her hand over her chest trying to recover from her minor heart attack.

"You know you should be a little more grateful that your alive if it was up to me I would've just let your drown, luckily I'm not that heartless, and we don't do that." Ondina complains.

"What are you talking about?"

"Remember when you fell into the moon pool last night?…didn't you wonder how you ended up on the beach?" Ondina pushes further.

Ryan's face turns pale and serious. Honestly that's the one thing so far that hasn't made sense because if he was still in the pool, in the water when he woke up he would've seen his tail sooner. So someone must've seen him or something.

That when the lightbulb goes off.

"It was you guys that bailed me outta there and left me on the beach?" Ryan claims, looking to Sirena and Mimmi who both nod.

"So I have actual powers and magic, and a tail as a bonus. That'll take some getting used to."

"No you won't!" Ondina chimes in spitefully.

"Ondina-" Rita begins but Ondina cuts her off before she can finish.

"The mere fact that he's already discovering his powers is a sign that we need to act fast especially before his reckless leads the pod believes that Mako isn't safe again?" Ondina puts out there.

"Did you know that talking about someone while their in the same room as you in a bad way doesn't exactly put you on their 'nice list'?" Ryan casually checks with the girl.

Ondina just glares at him in return and says nothing.

"Rough crowd over there," jerking his thumb towards Ondina who continues to glare.

Mimmi sniggers amused by her best friend's grouch attitude.

"Yowza, and here I was starting to think I was one of a kind." Ryan nudges Zac playfully with a chuckle that Zac returns.

Ondina doesn't seem fazed much as she walks up to him, "You are nothing but a land boy who thinks he's special just because you got a tail after falling into our sacred place that is forbidden against land people, especially ones like you!" She complains standing up from the couch and coming this close to getting into his face again.

"Is she always this charming or is it just her way of making friends, cause I'll bet big bucks that list ain't that big after what I've seen here?" Ryan asks to the others, jerking his thumb at Ondina. Acting as if he's unaware of her presence. Honestly, he's already had several fuck-ups he doesn't need anything else on top of that load of shit that's he's dragging behind him.

Ondina starts fuming and growls under her breath as Mimmi and Sirena give a small fit of giggles at Ryan's comment.

Ondina notices her friends reactions which only stoke her up that much more.

"You don't know anything about me, so heed my warning when I say that a arrogant land boy with an accidental tail doesn't get to criticize me, you don't know me at all!" Ondina warns grimly.

Ryan turns her way and a tugging smirk at the corner of his mouth starts to form and arches an eyebrow, "Ya got me there, but there are three things that can easily fix that," Ryan the turns his whole body to face the blonde girl holding up his hand and then extends his pointer finger, "First off, you can lose the damn attitude," then he extends his middle finger, "second, maybe you can try being a little more empathetic towards the situation I'm in, rather than offensive cause that is not a good way to make new friends just a heads up," he raises his ring finger, "and third, all you have to do to know each other a little better is pick a time and place where you and I can…socialize." He says suggestively and a little flirtatiously.

Ondina gasps with a scoff followed by a growl, never has anyone…he's such a…who does he think he…

The blonde might as well be considered an active volcano at this point cause Ondina is about ready to blow…big time!

"How dare you be so forward with me!" She yells.

Ryan just throws his hands up in surrender taking a few steps back.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, take it easy their Goldie locks. Who said anything about hitting on ya, all I'm saying is if you wanna get to know me you know where to find me." Ryan corrects. Although, truth is she is kinda hot, short, feisty, but hot. And considering she's a mermaid that's really saying something.

"I don't care what you mean, we're not here to get to know land people at least not ones like you." Ondina says spitefully.

The land boy just gives a cool look, "Seriously is she always this much of an egotistical bitch that full of shit and herself, or is it just her time of the month…actually that's a good question do mermaids even have periods since they don't have…well you know?" Ryan wonders almost genuinely.

That earns him a smack right across the face from a very enraged Ondina who at the moment looks like a pissed off bull seeing red.

Ryan immediately gets another slap on the back of the head from Evie. For obvious reasons…since their natural born land girls, so they know what's it's like to…have the experience.

"Ow!" Ryan complains rubbing the back of his head looking up at Evie who gives a satisfied smirk that says 'serves you right' or something like that.

Ondina reels back and looks about ready to clock him again.

Luckily Rita steps in between the two of them, before things get out of hand. "That's enough, Ondina!" The older woman/mermaid warns.

"WE WORKED SO HARD TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT, AND I'M NOT ABOUT TO LET SOME

RIDICULOUS LAND BOY MAKE THE POD LEAVE AGAIN!!" Ondina just explodes at the older woman.

Rita's expression turns stern and serious having had enough of Ondina's bantering. "That's it, Ondina go…right now!" Rita orders.

Ondina gasps in shock, "But I-" she tries to justify herself.

Rita doesn't give her the chance as she points to the exit. "I don't want to hear it Ondina, either calm down or go swim this temper of your off, either way I don't want you here right now if you aren't going to say anything useful."

Ondina puts her foot down and clenches her fists as she locks eyes with Ryan one last time before letting out a frustrated scream turning on her heel and leaves.

Ryan's eyes follow Ondina out as she stomps your the stairs out of the grotto.

The dark haired boy just huffs to himself in disbelief shortly after her exit. "What the hell is her problem?!" He just has to know.

Rita sighs sadly, "Don't mind Ondina, she's just had a lot of rough and very stressful events to deal with this past year, I assure you Ryan it's not you it's the situation." She clarifies.

"Well as long as she stays far away from me I ain't got no beef with her, unless she's looking for a fight, if that's the case then she's got a lot of trouble heading her way."

Rita looks at him worriedly, "Ryan the thing you have to understand is that every time you touch water or get wet you'll transform into a merman." She explains.

"Well that sure as hell complicates things doesn't it." He comments. "But you know how to fix me right, and I ain't talking like a dog…no I mean the damn fish tail, right?"

"That's even more…complicated I'm afraid." Rita says rather hesitantly.

Ryan starts to feel his heart racing and his anxiety skyrocketing. "W-what do you mean?" He practically stutters out.

Rita shares a knowing look with her fellow mermaids Mimmi and Sirena.

As well as Evie, and Zac.

"From all the research we've done about how the moon pool work is that once you fall in and are transformers into a mermaid or merman… it's very difficult to turn back into a full-human again." Rita confesses with much regret in her tone.

Ryan starts feeling his legs go to sleep as the realization that his is not aquaman's fish cousin starts to really sink in for him.

The others in the room notice, Ryan's current state and Zac who wasn't that far away luckily catches him as the land boy stumbles backwards.

"Whoa…okay so, how are you gonna turn me back, then?" Ryan asks almost desperately as the anxiety and worry creeps into his voice.

Silence fills the room.

"…We can't." Mimmi simply states in all her blunt honesty breaking the silence.

Ryan feels his heart drop at those words. So less than a day of already moving to a different place, now this…he's gonna need therapy. Lots and lots of therapy.

Ryan gets up but keeps his eyes focused on the ground. "I can't…I can't do this right now." He complains, his feet carrying him towards the exit.

"Ryan, wait please." Zac almost begs going after him but stops.

He turns to the merman, "Listen, look I'll keep my mouth shut about all this mermaid/merman/magic Disney bullshit. Okay, but I just need so time to take all this in, alright!" Ryan concludes.

"Wait you can't leave there's still a lot you don't know about your powers and magic, about being a merman." Sirena pleads almost worried more for herself and the other rather than Ryan, since she doesn't have a lot of faith that he'll succeed in keeping their secret from everyone else.

"Oh yeah watch me, and as for all this hocus pocus I'll figure it out on my own at least until you guys decide that you wanna let me in on everything. Also, just a heads up don't try anything with me either just because I won't be your little guinea pig, I've already had my life change course, and I ain't gonna let any of you derail what's left of it all because of something that wasn't my fucking fault, but if you want cross me and you'll see what happens and believe me when I say…I don't need powers for that." Ryan warns them menacingly.

With that he leaves going up the stairs, out of the grotto, and back home.

The walk from Rita's place to his wasn't that far or long less than 10 minutes away…by foot, god knows how fast he could get here by tail.

When he enters and his parents chew his ass out about missing dinner and being late he just tells them that his 'job interview' took a little longer than expected with David. Of course, they bought it, and were even happier to hear that he got the job. Of course that was all total bullshit and he only got hired by David as a favor to the mermaids and his mermaid girlfriend, Sirena. At least that's what he thinks they said her name is.

Well as long as they stay out of his way, don't push it, and he gets a solid paycheck then he thinks he'll be just fine.

Shortly after grabbing something to eat and a drink al though he was very careful with the drink since he knows what will happen if any part of him gets wet.

After that he heads to bed with his first day of work tomorrow. Although, considering the really fucked-up day he's had so far he knows he ain't getting much sleep tonight and prays that tomorrow will be even the tiniest bit better.

I know that this chapter is a bit lengthy but I wanted to make sure to get the intro's out of the way with, well at least most of them or the primary ones.

Also I know that this chapter may be repetitive and have some plot holes or may not seem to connect but truth is I spent hours on this chapter and since it's after the last season it's hard to visualize or come up with anything extra. So that's what I'm still trying to figure out.

Again I apologize if I am butchering anything I really am I'm just trying my best to be authentic.

Just a heads up what motivates me to write is feedback such as (follows, favorites, especially comments). As long as I receive those I think I can be steady but don't take my word for it.
