I Present Question Time

There was something noticeably awkward in the way everyone stopped their conversation and turned to look at me. Yeah, yeah, I got it. I was intruding on their bachelor club. One of the less brain cell-blessed of Gally's lackeys offered me a nice comfy log to sit on as I arrived. Then, finally, someone other than me spoke up.

"Why are you here? You're supposed to be healing right now." Alby reminded. Nearby, the runners' little club began to whisper rapidly between themselves, but something called 'having a social life' told me it wasn't about me for once. See? I wasn't that self-centred to assume.

"Yeah, well. Got bored."

"So are you magic or what?" Someone cut in.

"What magic user allows their arm to get broken?" I fired back, "That would be some pretty lame stuff." Indeed it would have been awesome to be a witch, but unfortunately I was eau-natural, baby.

"Who actually are you? Cos-" One of the runners piped up, his buddies still playing the 'I'm sure she can't hear me' game. Also, I was wrong about the whole conversation topic thing. From now on, I should immediately assume that anyone I hear whispering is actually gossiping about yours truly. Anyway, I interrupted.

"- great question. I'm Bea, if you didn't know." I deadpanned. The kid next to me rolled his eyes so hard I could hear it. If only he could find his brain back there while he was at it.

"Answer it!"

I swallowed thickly. I'd already accomplished the whole 'reputation' bit, even if it was currently 'that one insane bitch'. Now I needed to do the actually difficult part - gain their trust. How to do that? Tread lightly. Don't share too much. Don't freak them out - again. Don't be too vague or they'll think you're lying. Oh, and don't tell them that you're from a different universe. Got it.

"Fine. I came here on my own terms to get you all out. I know how this ends, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to save you from it."

Author's Note: Hi! I'm back. Finished exams, thank fuck. Not much else to say other than I've been trying to get back into the flow of writing again. If any of you have read my Gwen Stacy fic, I'm planning to update by the end of the month I swear. This one only has a few more stockpiled chapters so I might need to refamiliarise myself with whatever this series is again before I continue. It might get weird as hell from here on out, just warning you now. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this little Q and A session with Bea that basically accomplishes nothing, but segues nicely into my favourite chapter...

Have a nice day, week, month and year wherever you happen to be :)
