"Are you a 100% sure that Batman hasn't been replaced by some alien clone?" Beast Boy incredulously asked, tapping the temple of his head as if to emphasize how staggering the statement he heard was.
"No, that really was Batman." said Cyborg, with a face not too different from his friend's. "And I think the stress finally got to him."
"But how do we know it's really him?" Beast Boy continued. "Maybe-"
"Maybe you can ask the one person on the team who works with him?" Robin interjected with a huff. "Cause believe me, that's the genuine article."
"So what happened to all the paranoia and shadowy assassin schtick?" Beast Boy pondered aloud, collapsing on a couch not too far from the other heroes. "Think the Flash and Superman got him to lighten up?"
"Hah, I'd have better luck at beating Superman in arm wrestling." A new lively voice joined the conversation, causing the three young men to nearly break their necks to look at the entrance of the room.
And there standing at the open door was the fastest man alive along with the person that began the debate, a young man their age with auburn hair peppered with golden strands. His eyes were of differing color, one red and another golden-brown. He stood behind the Flash, looking around the room with a curious gaze.
"This right here is Shriou Emiya, that new prospect Batman called you about earlier. "The Flash said with a huge grin. "He's got the green light from both Batman and the Martian Manhunter so try to be nice."
And in a blink of an eye, it was like he was never there. Shirou started at the sudden disappearance while the others simply moved on.
"He could have at least stayed to watch." Beast Boy grumbled.
"So Shirou, you have a name you want us to call you?" Cyborg began, pointing at himself before the others. "You can call me Cyborg, over there is Robin, one of Batman's protegees, and that one on the couch is Beast Boy. The rest of the team in on patrol so we'll introduce them later."
Taking a moment to recollect himself, Shirou faced them with a resolute face and bowed.
"Hello, pardon my intrusion." Shriou answered. "You can call me Shirou, please take care of me."
"Take care of us and we got your back." Beast Boy responded with a smile.
"Hold onto your horses, he's gotta pass our test first." Cyborg said to his friend before addressing Shirou. " I know you passed the League's tests and you held up against me when we first met, but the Titans have a process y'know. We gotta be absolutely sure you can work with our team."
"When do we start?" Shirou responded.
Robin smirked at that response.
Shirou couldn't help but be envious of the resources the heroes of this world had at their disposal: Various nodes throughout the nation to station their teams, technology that could teleport them across vast difference, armor and tools that would require extravagant amounts of money to purchase. It was a mystery why any crime would exist when the heroes of this world were so well equipped.
As he stood in the training grounds of the Titan Tower, he was baffled by how many different types of equipment these young heroes used. Using Structural Grasp on a peculiar piece of equipment, the amount of information that assaulted his brain was staggering. There were so many different parts and pieces that he nearly lost count but he learned what it was- a bench-press... one that could exceed twenty tons of force with ease.
"Okay, all you have to do is beat these androids alongside Beast Boy and Robin." Cyborg announced from the observation desk. "The faster you beat them as a team, the better it is."
"I'm sorry, did you say androi-" Shirou began only to be interrupted by a large mechanism opening up the ground ahead of him to reveal a platform filled with about a dozen tall, mechanical beings of various heights with the largest one being nearly fifteen meters tall.
"Don't worry about keeping score." Robin told the startled teen. "Not everyone is a glory hound."
"Speak for yourself, I'm going for a new personal record." Beast Boy proudly claimed, pumping his fists.
Without any cue, the androids began their attack. Two headed for Shirou instantly while the rest focused on the two other young heroes. Shirou Reinforced his legs and leaped...
"WWWWWWOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHH!"
...only to leap far higher than he had ever done his entire life. He was so high up that all the others looked miniscule pinpricks on the ground. Quickly gaining his bearings, he Reinforced his eyes to improve his aim and reached out his arms.

In his hand, a simple longbow formed, ready for use. In his other hand, a basic longsword formed and twisted into a fine point. With no hesitation, he began firing at five of the androids that had been attacking Beast Boy, of which three went down and two remained standing with critical damage.
As if in retaliation, two other androids rummaged through the wreckage and began throwing debris at Shirou with blinding speed and pinpoint accuracy.

The copy of the legendary Noble Phantasm shielded Shriou from the barrage of debris with ease as he continued to fall. As the ground approached, Shirou prepared to brace himself- only to be caught by a large green pterodactyl?
"What are you waiting for?" Beast Boy's voice came from the pterodactyl's mouth. "Get those androids!"
Shirou rolled with the punches and continued to fire as Robin skillfully climbed the largest android and popped open a panel. Within seconds, Robin leapt off and glided away while that large android began to savagely attack its brethren until none were left standing. Aiming on last time, Shirou shot an unstable Projection into the singular eye of the android, causing the head to explode.
"Wow, a minute and twenty seconds." Cyborg announced. "Nice work."
"Man, if Raven was here we would have been done in seconds." Beast Boy moaned as he dropped of Shirou onto the ground safely and transformed back. "Not too shabby though, Shirou flying off like that was a hoot."
"We'd have to work on our calls but I think he'd gell well with the team." Robin said with a grin. "He's in by my books."
"Welcome to the Teen Titans, Shirou." Cyborg gave the boy a thumbs up. "We gotta work on a codename though."
Shirou grinned as well. "I'll think of one."
"Until then, let's introduce you to the rest of the team."

Patrol had been uneventful so far, every criminal in the city knew that the Teen Titans was quick to respond to any incident so it got boring pretty fast. So when Raven fell to the ground midflight, Wonder Girl's shock couldn't be understated.
"Raven, you okay?" Cassie Sandsmark landed next to her friend, anxiously rubbing the other girl's shoulder to rouse her. "Talk to me!"
"There are so many of them!" Raven said to no one in particular, writhing on the ground. "So many souls, corrupted, pure, starved, content... I can't keep track."
Wonder Girl was quick to take out her communicator, she had to call this in!
"Wonder Girl to Tower. We have a situation."
Sorry for keeping you all waiting for so long. The past couple of years have been hectic to say the least, but I'm back with another chapter. I hope you all enjoy it and I think you if you've stuck around for so long
See you next time
