We start off with Dwayne Junior narrating.

The school system, the way it is set up, is useful for helping young kids achieve their goals. And, a school sporting event, can bring out the best and worst of the students that are playing. This is the competitive Junior year.

The tugs theme then plays

Junior's POV

Shortly after the camping trip, I told my parents that I said yes to the proposal, and they were so pleased. They never thought they would see the day, that their son found a woman to spend his life with. Grandma Alice and Grandpa Norbert were also impressed by the news they were hearing. The next person I told about the engagement, was Uncle Harold.

Reader's POV

Junior and Harold were sitting on the couch, and Junior decided to tell his uncle about the exciting news. "Uncle Harold, I would like to invite you" said Junior. "What am I being invited to?" asked Harold. "To my wedding, me and Bertha are engaged" said Junior. Harold immediately froze up upon hearing this news. "Oh, well, I didn't see this coming in the slightest" he said. "I didn't know you loved her so much, to the point where you would propose at an early age." "I didn't propose to her, it was the other way around" said Junior. "Holy crap, it sounds like this is happening sooner than you expected" said Harold. "Yeah, if I was the one asking for it to happen, it may have taken me a couple of years" said Junior. "But there was no way in hell I was saying no to her, I really think we belong together." "Now listen Uncle Harold, i'm going to have to ask you to bear with me, I do plan on inviting everyone that I competed with on the Ridongculous race." Harold frowned upon hearing this. He knew that three of those people that Junior was referring to, were three people that he wasn't on very good terms with at the moment. "Okay, I understand, but don't expect me to make eye contact with them" said Harold.

Junior's POV

He was still incredibly pissed over not being recognized as a hero. He did tell me however, that he wasn't angry at me for receiving the medal of honor, and that I 100% earned it. When I told Izzy about this news, she asked me when me and Bertha were going to have sex, and wether or not she and Uncle Harold could join us. I'll come out and say it, Izzy is kind of a pervert, but at least she doesn't peek at people, and force them to do things with her. On one of the days we were working on the seaplane, me and Bertha informed the bfffl's about our engagement. The two of them were going to have the cameras ready, in time to capture the kiss at the wedding. The ones I haven't told yet, were my classmates at Bronzestone. Me and Bertha planned on telling our friends, Tuesday at lunch.

Reader's POV

"Guys, we have some exciting news to share" said Bertha. Junior then set his hand on the table, to show the ring on his index finger. "Ah, good choice Junior, proposing early means you have a whole year to prepare" said Terrence. "He didn't propose to me, it was the other way around" said Bertha. "Plus, this wedding is happening a lot sooner than you think, we aren't sure, but we are aiming for the second of February" said Junior. "Wow, I didn't think i'd have Junior as a cousin in law so soon" said Wilson. "Bertha, are you positive you don't want to wait until you turn 18?" asked Hudson. "Don't you think that you're rushing it?" "Sounds more like you're concerned about the prospect of a married couple being too focused on their relationship, rather than the championship" said Bertha. "Okay, now i'm confused" said Hudson. "Wait a minute, nobody told you?" said a voice. Oscar Star then walked up to them. "I just spoke to the coach, she's on the baseball team as a pitcher." "How?" asked Terrence. "She was never at tryouts?" "Yeah, I didn't even attempt to take part in trying out for the women's league" said Bertha. "The coach made this decision, when he saw how fast I threw a football when I was playing catch with my dad." Hudson then began slapping himself in the face. "Why are you inflicting harm upon yourself?" asked Seth. "I'm trying to resist making a perverted comment" said Hudson.

Junior's POV

It took Hudson a lot of willpower to not make a comment about Bertha's small boobs, and how they severely reduce drag when running from base to base. In terms of the wedding plans, they were all set. Me and Bertha were inviting everyone from the ridongculous race, along with everyone that was on Total drama. The obvious exceptions were Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet. The reason why we were choosing the second of February, was because it was Bertha's seventeenth birthday. I think it's really special to get married on your birthday.

Finally, the day came, it was the first baseball game of the season, Bronzestone vs Emeraldstone. Nobody else knew about Bertha being on the team, until it was the day of the game. The coach wanted to hit Emeraldstone with the element of surprise. Obviously, there aren't that many female players in baseball, so this was a huge deal. But while we were in the dugout awaiting the start of the game, Emeraldstone's Principal Zero, was trying to give me an offer.

Reader's POV

"First of all, i'd like to say congrats on the engagement" said Principal Zero. "Second, there is a major offer i'm willing to give you." "If you ever flunk out of Bronzestone, you are more than welcome in Emeraldstone." "You can even drop out early, our school will welcome you with open arms." "I'm not as dumb as you think I am" said Junior. "You're just trying to make your school look good, by having a national hero as a student." The coach then walked up. "Get out of here, this isn't your dugout" he snapped. "You could say the same thing about that flat chested slut" said Principal Zero, as he pointed at Bertha. "A girl does not belong in a man's sport." Bertha was fuming as she covered up her chest. "Shut the fuck up, my fiancé happens to be very self conscious about her boobs, and I will not tolerate you insulting her" said Junior. "Plus, I know somebody who used to have sexist beliefs, and it led to him becoming drugged, so be careful what you say." "Okay then, i'll leave, but my offer does not expire if you wish to change your mind" said Principal Zero. "You can leave that school full of retards, anytime you please." He then walked away. "Oh that's it, using slurs that mock disabled people is where I draw the line" said Hudson. "We are not losing this game, under any circumstances."

Both teams eventually walked out of their respective dugouts, to get this game going. Junior actually looked out of the corner of his eye, and he actually saw Leonard from the Ridongculous race, sitting in the stands, just behind home plate. He was waving his wand around, trying to cast a good luck spell on the Bronzestone team. If people didn't know he was a former reality show contestant, they would assume he was a baseball mascot.

As Emeraldstone was the visiting team, they were going to be the ones to bat first. Zoltan Parker was the first batter sent out, and he looked incredibly intimidating. He was really tall for someone who was only 17. Bertha threw the ball as hard as she could, and it ended up in the catcher's glove. "STRIKE ONE!" yelled the umpire. This time when she threw it, Zalton attempted to swing, and the ball went right past him. "STRIKE 2!" yelled the umpire. The third pitch was the fastest one yet, and Zalton had no time to react. "STRIKE THREE, YOUR OUT!" yelled the umpire. The next two players that went up to bat, were also thrown out. Bertha was really showing how good she was.

Then it was Bronzestone's turn to bat, and It started off decent enough, with Hudson getting to second, courtesy of a ground rule double. Then Edward Francis hit a fly ball, and it was caught as he ran past first base. Hudson made it to third while all of this was happening. The next batter hit two foul balls outside the park. The third time the ball was thrown to him, he swung and missed. The next one that went up to bat, managed the hit it towards left field. The left fielder picked up the ball, and tossed it to home plate, getting Hudson out. The first inning had just been completed, and neither team had scored a single run.

Over the next seven innings, Bertha really showed how good she was when it came to throwing the ball. Every single time someone went up to bat on the Emeraldstone team, they would end up getting three strikes. The Bronzestone team had much better luck, when it came to being able to hit the ball, and getting to first. But the farthest any of them got, was to third, none of them were able to make it to home plate. Due to the fact that neither team was scoring anything, the score was 0-0 going into the ninth inning. By this point, the sun had completely gone down, and the lights in the stadium were turned on.

The start of the inning, started off the same way as every other inning. Thanks to Bertha's really good pitching, none of the batters on the Emeraldstone team got a single hit. This was it, the bottom of the ninth inning. With neither team having a single run, all Bronzestone had to do in this inning, was score one run, just one. It looked as though they were going to get it, and win the game. They managed get the bases loaded. All they had to do was get the guy on third to home plate, and the game would be over. Junior stepped up to home plate, swung the bat, and managed to hit the ball. It looked as though victory was assured, before Emeraldstone stepped up their game. All three players that were on the bases, were taken out with a triple play. Because they had gone through all nine innings with neither team scoring a single run, they were going into extra innings.

Bertha anticipated that things would keep going the way they were going. She once again threw the ball, anticipating that Zoltan Parker would get a strike. Instead, Zalton swung and was able to hit the ball, and actually made it to first base. The next player that went up to bat, also made it to first base, and Zalton was able to get to second. Then, there was another hit, allowing the bases to be loaded. When the fourth batter on the Emeraldstone team went up to bat, Zalton managed to get to home plate, scoring the first run of the entire game. From that point onward, everything began going downhill for Bronzestone. Bertha wasn't able to strikeout a single batter for the rest of the first half of the inning. In some instances, her aim was incredibly off, and instead of the batter getting a strike, they would instead get a ball. The Bronzestone team had an incredibly difficult time keeping up with Emeraldstone, Emeraldstone was just way too quick for them. By the time Emeraldstone finally got three outs, they had already gotten an absurd, 30 runs. Nobody expected this kind of dominance, considering everything that had happened in the game up to this point.

When the Bronzestone team got back to the dugout, Hudson was quick to criticize. "Bertha, what the hell was that?" he snapped. "You were doing so well until we got to this inning, now we're in danger." "The only thing I agree with Hudson about, is the danger aspect" said the coach. "I can't deny it, things do not look good." "The only way we can still win this game, is if we are able to get a ludicrous 31 runs, in just one inning." "Considering how our score has been zero the entire game, this is not going to be easy in the slightest." "Giving it all we've got is not going be enough, we have got to start playing at one thousand percent." He then looked at his watch, and saw that it was now midnight. "This is going to be harder than I thought."

They went back onto the field, knowing full well how difficult their situation was. As the inning went on, Bronzestone was slowly but surely, trying to work their way back up. Eventually, they had managed to garner nine runs. But then, they were in even more danger, when Edward Francis was thrown out, while trying to get from second to third. This motivated the team to work harder. Time seemed to tick slower and slower, but eventually Bronzestone got their number of runs, up to 21. Then, one of their batters got struck out. Now they were in trouble, just one more out, and it was all over. Now, Bronzestone was playing a lot more cautiously. Nobody attempted to run farther than one base, and nobody attempted to steal one. They eventually got their number of runs up to 27, and the bases were loaded. It was now Bertha's turn to bat. Before she stepped up to the box, she thought to herself that if they lost this game, Hudson would not shut up. She would be the one that would take the blame, due to not being consistent on her throwing abilities. Then she realized, that ever since the start of the year, Hudson has been a complete dick. Why should she care about his opinion? She felt a major surge of anger. She wasn't going to put up with another one of Hudson's rants, she decided she would take her anger out on the ball. She then stepped into the box. "Batter up" said the umpire. Bertha was red in the face, and was gritting her teeth. She was done being conservative, she was going for it. The ball was then thrown towards her, and she swung the bat, and hit the ball hard. It went high into air at over a hundred miles per hour, and went over the wall while still being in the white lines. "FUCK YEAH, WE DID IT, WE WON!" shouted Bertha. Everyone on the bases began making their way to home plate. Bertha was stepping into home, ready to celebrate, until she heard someone screaming in the audience. "OH SHIT, SOMEBODY CALL 911!"

Junior's POV

This was supposed to be a happy moment. Bertha had just won us the game, with a walk off grand slam. What was supposed to be an amazing comeback story, turned into a complete disaster. The home run ball that Bertha just hit, went into the stands. It flew right into Uncle Harold's chest, at over 115 mph. It bounced right off of his chest, and Uncle Harold began clutching it for dear life. He ended up falling out of his seat, before his throat went completely dry, and he began coughing painfully. He then started puking, but it wasn't vomit that was coming out, it was his own blood. Nobody was paying any attention to the outcome of the game anymore, they were entirely focused on the emergency that was taking place. Every time Uncle Harold tried to breathe, all he ended up doing was hurting his throat. He was unable to say anything, he was too sore. It wasn't long before paramedics eventually arrived on the scene. Now came the difficult part, getting him onto a hospital gurney, without causing him any more damage. By the time he was finally put on one, he was carefully carried out of the stadium, and was then set carefully down in an ambulance. He was then rushed off to the hospital.

Reader's POV

The Bronzestone team was now back in the locker room. Everyone was packing their bags, ready to go home. It was now 4:00 in the morning, and after all of the crap they had gone through, everyone was tired and they wanted to go home. They were ready to go, before Bertha smelled something horrible, and realized that it was her. "Yeah, you guys go on ahead, I really need to take a shower" she said. While nobody was looking, Junior sniffed his armpit. It wasn't stinking up the room like Bertha was, but a shower wouldn't hurt.

The two of them walked into the bathroom, and went into two stalls that were right next to each other. "Are you positive you don't want to take a shower with me?" asked Bertha in a depressed tone. "No, I don't think i'm ready to make that leap yet" said Junior. The two of them then took off their clothes, and turned on the hot water. "I feel like a complete idiot" said Bertha sadly. "You shouldn't be so hard on yourself" said Junior. "I'm surprised your still willing to talk to me, even though i'm the reason your uncle is on his deathbed" said Bertha. "Bertha, this incident isn't changing my mind about the engagement" said Junior. "You didn't mean to hurt Uncle Harold, it was an accident." "Still, I really shouldn't have hit the ball that hard" said Bertha. "I was just really frustrated about the fact that my poor pitching, put us so far behind to begin with." "I wanted to make up for it by being to player that made the winning move." "Well it worked, you just won us the game" said Junior. "Yeah, but I never intended on sacrificing Harold to do so" said Bertha. "Harold's already been through hell as it is, I just made his life even worse." "He already has a record of near death experiences in the hospital." "I think this was the final nail in the coffin, There is no way Harold survives this." "I only hope that when he's gone, people will finally recognize him for who he is." Eventually, the two of them were done showering, and they stepped out of the stalls in towels. They then stepped back into the stalls, and put on dry clothes. By the time they got back to the locker room, it was 4:15 AM.

Junior's POV

Despite how tired Bertha was, she was still able to drive me back to my house, before setting off for hers. I had just had a long day, and I was exhausted. I then saw Izzy coming in through the back door, and she was in tears. She had just gotten back from the hospital, and had the full details on Harold's condition. All of his ribs were badly broken, along with two punctured lungs. Izzy stayed at the hospital long after Harold's operation, but Harold would not wake up. He wasn't dead however. He was currently asleep in a hospital bed, where wearing a respirator. The doctor said that his chance of living was about 25%. Even though he wasn't dead, Bertha was still convinced that she had just committed manslaughter. As crazy as it sounds, something worse would happen in the future, and for Bertha it would be way more emotionally destroying. But that is a story for another day.

Authors note: Me pointing out that I am not a doctor and have never been to medical school, is becoming a running gag. I'm just saying, there are probably some things that I got wrong.

If you ever decide to go to a baseball game, you have to be open to the possibility of being hit by the ball. Watch at your own risk.

Manslaughter is when you kill somebody without having murderous intent. In most cases, the death is because of incompetent recklessness.

Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
