A/N: Thank You for nearly 260+ views, 4 favs and 3 follows so far. Some important reveals await Shaun and Buffy in this chapter. As usual Thank You DBZFAN45 you are awesome. I know I told it might take some time for this chapter to come out but turns out I was feeling more creative than ever. Plus, some clarifications. The BDSM thing was just an offhanded reference. Shaun and Buffy are absolutely platonic. With that cleared, here we go.

"waah waah waah" I was unable to speak as I had a gag over my mouth.

"Right.." Buffy removed the gag from my mouth.

"Ok. So Buffy, Giles what are you guys up to?" I asked them as I started feeling my mouth free without the gag limiting my speaking capabilities.

"How long have you been lying to me? Is this some sort of a game between you and the monk I visited earlier?" Buffy was teary-eyed.

"Buffy, what monk? What are you talking about?" My not being honest with Buffy had caught up to me but I tried to read what exactly was going on and how long I could keep my ruse.

"You are not my brother. You are just a thing inserted into my life by them. And you remember that you're not my brother too. Come on! Out with it!" Buffy was crying in a full high pitched voice now and full-on sobbing as well.

"Buffy, please please I'll explain everything I know honestly just please don't cry" Although the things Buffy said hurt me, it hurt me even more seeing her cry.

"Ok, Buffy before I explain can you please remove the ropes that you've tied on both of my hands and my legs" I gestured my head towards both my hands which were each tied to a hand each of the legs of the chair and my legs which was each tied to the front legs of the same chair.

Buffy and Giles gave each other a look.

"Come on. You know I don't have anywhere else to go. Anyone else to go to" I tried to appeal to her sentimental nature which did work luckily and I was out of the ropes in both my hands and legs.

I opened and closed my palms and wagged both my legs to take in the fact that I am free.

"Ok. What do you want to know?" I asked her.

"Who are you? What are you? What do you want?" Ouch. Straight to the point.

My head started showing a black screen to my face as the feeling of getting choked under water and the irritated lungs came back. It was my turn to cry as tears now started streaming out from my face.

Buffy's concern started to show on her face but she steeled back up.

"Right. My name was Matthew. I am an Indian" Suddenly Buffy and Giles stood in front of me with crossbows. How the hell did they manage to take crossbows quickly?

"Woah! Woah! Not the native American Indian. Like an actual Indian. You know from the country India. You must have heard of Gandhi surely" I raised up my hand in defence and rambled about anything that might not get me killed. Being academically studious and listening to history classes saved my life.

Turns out Buffy was previously attacked by some native Americans. Turns out, Buffy learned a lot about native Americans being suppressed by Europeans but the worst thing that happened was finally, the native Americans tried to kill Buffy. I guess there must have been some trauma left there.

"Gandhi. Oh yes. A very respectable non-violent fighter" Giles dropped his crossbow.

Buffy's eyes were still trained on me but she resigned and dropped the crossbow as well.

I let out a breath of relief which I didn't know that I was holding.

"With that out of the way, let me tell you everything I know. First off, I don't know any monk that you just referred to" I just looked pointedly at Buffy but continued "Second, I don't remember anything beyond the last 5-6 weeks in this life"

"What do you mean this life?" Buffy quizzed me.

"Oh, how do I explain this. This is going to be wild" I chuckled

"I just have this theory. Please bear with me. All that I remember is this: I was born in Chennai. Exactly in the year 2015..." I was interrupted by Giles this time

"Are you from the future? If yes, stop before you give us any more information that could possibly damage the space-time continuum" Giles is an intelligent man I'll give him that.

"Giles I'll keep it as vague as possible to ensure minimal damage to the continuum or universe or whatever" I reassured him.

"Yes. So what happened was there was this huge flood in my city" I started sniffling as mom and dad from my previous life flashed in front of my eyes.

Surprisingly, I found a strong hug from Buffy.

"If this is too much for you, you don't have to do this" She caressed my head slowly.

I chuckled.

"Despite what you said to me multiple times today, you are still my sister" I returned her hug.

"I have to say this. I don't know how long I can keep this from you. So, I'll go ahead and rip it like a band-aid"

I controlled my tears and steeled myself to continue.

"I was worried but my mom and dad assured me that things would be fine. That was the last time I saw them before I felt water enter my lungs and I felt this burning sensation and a choking feeling. I am pretty sure I died. The next thing I remember was waking up in your house to your voice"

I was uncontrollably sobbing now. Buffy hugged me again.

Giles meanwhile took his specs and wiped the lenses with a cloth and wore them back.

"Oh dear!" was all he could say.

After we finished our brother-sister hugging time, I decided to question Buffy about the monk.

Buffy refused but my puppy dog eyes and my sharing my trauma with my sis did convince her to open up.

Buffy's POV, Roughly one hour ago

I found myself in this weird abandoned factory where I found the weird golden ball, the Dagon Sphere used to ward off an ancient evil.

My mind was already spinning after my spell to find out any magic that could be infecting mom showed me that Shaun did not exist and is not an actual person. I don't know what his motivations are but I did not feel safe leaving him alone with mom so I left him with Giles. I was confused when the sphere did not work on Shaun.

I found the factory lot closed with a chain which I easily shattered. Being a Slayer sure does have its perks.

Eventually, I climbed across the stairs and went through a door which was painted blue.

I used my flashlights and explored the many corridors of the factory when I found this tremendous gaping hole. I looked up. It almost looked like an 11-foot monster smashed through the steel door whose twisted remains lay below.

This was concerning and alarming. My Slayer sense was screaming that something is wrong but I had to find out what caused this. This could all be related to Shaun and my mom.

As I looked deeper into the room, I found a semi-conscious man wearing some brown color ancient robe like he was a monk or something.

I immediately ran and loosened his restraints.

"It was you who planted the Dagon Sphere, right?" I strained but I managed to remove his restraints from his hands which were at the back of his chair.

"I got it." I went to his front and removed the restraints on his legs as I reassured him" Don't worry. I'm stronger than I look. I have had experience with stuff like this before."

I found the man's vision peer to my back and my slayer sense was getting all tingly.

"Best of all.." I whirled around and held this weird blonde woman by the throat and remarked coldly "I'm not stupid"

She gave me a dismissive look and wrenched my hand from her throat like it was nothing. Even worse, she backhanded me with such force that would have flown nearly 50 feet away to crash my back into a wall. I could feel the wall crack at my back and I fell down to the floor.

Goddam the bitch is powerful. I looked at her stunned obviously.

"You sure about that last part?" She smirked.

She then proceeded to slam me into another cement wall face-first. The walls cracked under my impact.

I turned around to look at her.

"And another thing? I just want you to know..." She slams me into a support pillar and pummels me which pained me like a bitch. You get the pun, right?

"The whole 'beat ya to death' thing I'm doing? It's valuable time out of life that I'm never gonna get back."

I tried to fight back but she just grabbed both my arms like it was nothing and wrenched them downward.

I cried in pain as I could feel some bones breaking in my hands.

As I groaned, she droned on with a creepy glee "Wait, I've always wanted to try this. You know that thing with worms where if you have one, you rip it in half, you got two worms? Do you think that'll work with you?"

I used this little distraction and slammed my head onto her face so that I could break free.

"You hit me! What, are you crazy?" She cried out in shock.

I jumped up and hit and kicked her for all it's worth. She was the one who hit me first anyway.

"You can't go around hitting people. What, were you born in a barn?" She seemed offended.

"Fine. Be that way" She now blocked my blow and swung me using my hand into a wall.

She was about to punch my head when I luckily ducked at the last instant and her fist punched through the concrete.

Then she picked me up by the throat and held me there as I was gasping for air.

"I just noticed something. You have superpowers. That is so cool. Can you fly?"

She then hurled me across the room and my face collided with some sort of stone pavement but I found myself back on my foot although a little dazed.

I was furious and agitated and wanted to give it all back to the bitch but when I heard the monk groaning in pain, I realized that he was the priority and I immediately rushed over to him and helped him out of the chair.

"Hey! Hands off my holy man!"

I paid her no attention as I crashed through the window and tumbled to the ground below with my back protecting the monk from injury.

I helped him up and we escaped to the nearby parking lot as we saw a cloud of dust come out through the shattered window.

"Stop, please"

Is he crazy or something?

"No, we have to keep going"

He stumbled and collapsed against the chain-link fence and gasped.

"My journey's done, I think" He breathed out.

"Don't get metaphory on me. We're going." I tried to take him somewhere to treat his wounds but he stopped me.

"You have to... the Key. You must protect the Key" He said.

"Fine. We can protect the Key together, okay, just far, far from here" I replied to him and made him see sense.

"Many more die if you don't keep it safe." That statement from him alarmed me.

"How? What is it?" I needed to know about this key.

"The Key is energy. It's a portal. It opens the door..." I interrupted him as it all clicked.

"The Dagon Sphere?" I guessed my best guess.

"No." That surprised me but I listened "For centuries it had no form at all. My brethren, its only keepers. Then the abomination found us. We had to hide the Key, gave it form, molded it flesh... made it human, fed it with a soul that was about to die and sent it to you."

I could feel my eyes widen as the realization sank in.

"Shaun.."I breathed out.

"He's the key" he replied

"You put that in my house?" I was incredulous.

"We knew the Slayer would protect" He replied casually.

"My memories... my mom's?" I was getting teary-eyed as I started understanding that these monks played hokey-dokey with our memories.

"We built them" He clarified

"Then un-build them! This is my life you're-" I was beyond angry but was interrupted as the monk coughed heavily. He's fading fast.

"You cannot abandon" He said in a stone-cold monotonous voice.

"Human... now human. And helpless. Please... he's an innocent in this. He needs you"

"He's not my brother?" I half-questioned the monk.

The monk was about to say something one last time but he just let out a breath and died.

"Answer me, He is not my brother right?" I tried to stir him awake but to no avail. I was just crying furiously as my life had turned upside down.

Now, Shaun's POV

I was beyond stunned. Buffy was crying. Giles, an unusually stoic man was having tears in his eyes. I was feeling more numb than anything else.

"Huh. so that answers it" I was the first one to talk.

"That answers what exactly?" Buffy was puzzled.

"All my friends in school used to ask me if I was born or made. Now, I can confidently answer them that I was made" I replied with a small smile.

She smacked my arm. A smile slowly crept on her face as well.

"Sis, " I cleared my throat "Sorry, Ms Summers. If it is ok with you, can I call you my sister?"

"I'm sorry Shaun. Screw the monk. You'll always be my brother and I'm your sister. No amount of magic doo-hickey's gonna change that" She hugged me.

"So, he said I'm the key right? Key to what?" I asked her.

"We don't know but we'll get to the bottom of this" Buffy assured me.

A/N: I thought of resuming but ending this chapter here seemed perfect. Plus this was my first time diving into the mind of a character other than my own OC. Please tell me how I did it and what I can do to improve.
