Hi everyone, how's it going, I'm back with another badass chapter in this badass story, and I've written out a plan for where I want this story to go. I've decided to take a few elements from the games so if you're a fan of the mainline series you might notice a few things here and there, also for all you Adventures fans I've added a few things from the comic books too as I was practically obsessed with them when I was younger. That's all for now, on with the show!

"Shit indeed." Gary said.

"So, what's this got to do with me?" Ash asked.

"Well, I figured since you helped put an end to Team Magma, Team Aqua, Team Galactic, Team Plasma and Team Flare you might be able to help us out now." Gary told him.

"Listen Gary, I'd love to help, but look at me, I can barely even fit out my front door." Ash sighed.

"You're not listening Ash, the whole world is in danger, hell, even those alternate dimensions you told me about could be in danger!" Gary yelled.

"And what?" Ash asked. "What's the world ever done for me? I've spent years of my life trying to do the right thing, I've saved the planet countless times, yet here I am, a loner in a jail cell with about 5 years left to live."

There was a long silence between the two men. "No balls if you don't." Gary said.

"I'm not 10 Gary." Ash snapped back.

"No balls then?" Gary smirked.

"Get a grip."

"If you don't have any balls just say that, there's no shame in it."

Ash was pretty pissed off at this point.

"No balls huh? I'll tell you what, I'll spend the next three months losing weight, and once I'm built like Sylvester Stallone I'll go over to that asshole's secret base or whatever, and I'll rip that Sonic the hedgehog hair right off his head yeah? Then we'll see who has no balls." Ash yelled.

"That's the spirit." Gary laughed. "Once you're let outta here I'll send a few gifts to your flat." He said.

It was settled, Ash was ready to get his ass back in gear and become the badass, athletic legend he once was. To get started he headed to the prison's gym to see what they had in store, he could see a large cabinet full of weights, a couple treadmills, a pull up bar, a box of gym balls and a water fountain.

"Well buddy, get ready for three months of bodybuilding." Ash said forgetting Pikachu wasn't with him, this took Ash a while to get used to as Pikachu had always been with him since he was 10, but obviously for security purposes Pokémon are kept in their Pokéballs until their trainers have been released, which isn't so fun for Pokémon whose trainers have been given life sentences. "How do they manage to get Pikachu in his Pokéball?" You ask? Because Pikachu is a lazy git nowadays and he can't be bothered fighting back.

After Ash's 90 days were up, he'd lost quite a bit of weight, he was still fat of course, but he looked more like a heavyweight boxer rather than a Reddit moderator.

"Hey buddy, sorry about that, it won't happen again." Ash said as he released Pikachu from his Pokéball.

"Gary sent me a letter a few hours ago, he told me to meet him at his lab." He said.

When he arrived the lab looked a lot different to what he remembered, the windmill had been replaced with a large satellite, the roof was just one big solar panel, and it was swarmed with Pokémon.

"Hey Ash!" A voice from the entrance called. "You should have told me your flat was so small, the delivery guys couldn't even fit the treadmill through the door." It was Gary.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Ash called. "I thought you'd only be sending me a few weights." He laughed.

"Oh yeah few weights are going to stop Cyrus, I'm sure he'll abandon his whole operation after seeing you lift that 5kg dumbbell!" Gary joked.

They both laughed. "Alright, get up here, I've got a few people in here who've been desperate to see you." Gary said.

When they entered the lab Ash saw four of his old friends waiting inside, Brock, Misty, Goh and Dawn.

"Oh my god." Ash said. "Is it really you?"

"I think so!" Dawn laughed as she pretended to check her body.

"Man, where did all the time go?" Brock asked.

"It's crazy, isn't it? It feels like just yesterday I was chasing Ash down for a new bike." Misty laughed.

"You've really grown Ash." Goh said as he gave Ash a pat on the stomach.

"Yeah, but you still look like a girl." Ash joked. "So, what's actually going on?" He asked. "I've just been told Cyrus is back and that he's gone off the rails." He said.

"Well, it all started 4 months ago when Team Galactic took control of Jubilife City for a few days, I'm sure you saw that on the news." Gary explained.

"Oh yeah I remember." Ash said, this was a lie.

"Well, while Team Galactic were in control, they managed something many scientists have only dreamed of, they entered the void." Gary told him.

"What's that?" Ash asked. "It's an alternate dimension where laws of time and physics don't apply, and anything is possible." Gary said.

Ash was still confused.

"It's like the Upside Down from Stranger Things." Dawn told him.

"Oh Ok." Ash said with a much better understanding of the situation.

"So, what does this mean for us?" he asked.

"We don't know anything for certain, but many scientists have theorised that anyone who enters the void can enter any location in any universe at any time, meaning as long as they know the location, they can take anything or anyone they want." Gary explained.

"Hold on!" Goh butted in. "Doesn't that mean if they found Arceus they could force him to create a whole new world for them?"

"Or maybe they could find Dialga and make it send them back in time to prevent us from stopping them in the past." Dawn exclaimed.

"Or he could make Celebi send him to the beginning of time so he can prevent humans from existing in the first place!" Brock said.

"Or steal all the money they need so they can fund a project to do whatever you guys said their goal was!" Misty remarked.

"That's what I'm telling you, one wrong move could cost us the whole planet." Gary yelled.

Nobody said anything for the next few minutes. "So, what should we do?" Goh asked.

"I guess we just need to find out as much about the void as we can and see if there's any way to stop them." Gary told them quietly.

"Say Ash, you've got a lot of connections, haven't you? Maybe you can contact a few of your old pals to help us out." Brock said.

"I dunno Brock, I haven't talked to a lot of my old friends in years, I'd be surprised if they still remembered me." Ash told him.

"Of course they do Ash! Me and May talk about you all the time, and that kid Max is practically obsessed with you the amount he talks about you!" Dawn informed him.

"And Iris always tells me about how she'd like to see you again." Goh told him. "Actually, now that I think about it, she told me to tell you next time I see you that she'd caught the legendary Pokémon Zekrom, can you believe it!"

Although he tried to hide it Ask was really flattered by this, for he spent years thinking he was just a forgotten old twit.

"That's great! I'm glad she's doing well." Ash said, he was feeing incredibly nostalgic at this point.

"Alright! I'll see who I can find to help us out, and I'll get back to you next week." Ash remarked.

"Me too, I know a few people who might know a bit about this subject." Dawn said.

"So do I." Goh told them. "

As do I." Brock announced.

"Me too!" Misty said raising her hand.

"Great! I'll meet you all here this time next week." Said Gary, who was a little more optimistic about the future.

When Ash made it back to his flat, he felt on top of the world, he had friends again, he was healthier, and he was about to talk to people he thought he'd never see again. But we know enough about Ash now, I'm sure you'll want to hear about some of the other characters in this story, which brings us to our next hero, Gold. Gold is a man who has similar troubles to Ash, once Pokémon battles were abolished, he had nothing to do with his life, and to make matters worse he never had much luck making friends either. However, the two handled their situations very differently, while Ash became a depressed, lonely alcoholic, Gold dedicated his life to righting the worlds wrongs, so that children in the future may lead a better life than him. Kind of like Batman, but instead of Batarangs and a Batcave he has a Billiard Cue and a Man Shed.

"Damn it!" Gold yelled. He had accidentally pierced his radio with a dart while trying to hit bullseye. When he checked to see if it still worked, he heard a voice come from the radio, multiple voices actually. The first one was a radio DJ.

"Hello! Hello! Hello!" She said. The next one was a snippet from a song by Spandau Ballet, "Gold! Gold!" It said. Which was followed by Eminem saying "My name is." "Rotom!" Said the voice of a professor.

"What?" Gold asked.

"We'll be right with you." Another DJ said before a bolt of electricity exploded from the radio and flew into Gold's computer like a dart. When Gold turned around to his computer, he watched it turn itself on, log in, and open a Word document all by itself.

"Woah woah woah!" Gold yelled as he unplugged the computer, but to his surprise, it didn't shut down. When he ran over to his monitor, he could see things being typed out on the document, despite the keyboard not even being plugged in.

"Yo Gold, sorry if I scared you." The screen said. "Don't worry man I'm just a Rotom."

"Oh thank god, I had a heart attack." Gold said with his hand on his chest.

"I've been jumping from machine to machine for a few years in Johto, and over that time I've learned many people's secrets and the answers to many mysteries."

"Oh yeah, like what?" Gold asked.

"Well, I know that you're the vigilante who's been all over the news recently." Gold felt his heart drop.

"I- a- you won't tell anyone will you?" He gasped,

"No, no, don't worry, I actually need your help." The Rotom wrote.

"I'm listening."

"I'm sure you've heard of Team Rocket, yeah?"

"Yeah."

"I was able to hop into one of their databases last week, they've made a deal with those Sinnoh spuds Team Galactic, and they've agreed that as long as Team Galactic achieve whatever their goal is their leader will pay them with the legendary/mythical Pokémon Shaymin and Darkrai."

"Oh man I know Darkrai, they made a Netflix series about the time Darkrai helped save Alamos Town from disintegrating that one time."

"That's the one, somehow Team Galactic have already captured them and are keeping them captive iin a "Red Ring" whatever that is."

"Damn. Have you got any idea what Team Galactic's goal is?"

"A report from over 3 decades ago says they attempted to "create a new world" at spear pillar by capturing Dialga and Palkia and forcing them to use their powers, so I imagine it might have something to do with that, and Shaymin and Darkrai are both believed to spend a lot of time in the "void" many scientists have theorised, so that could mean Team Galactic have managed to enter the void, which could be disastrous for our dimension, but don't worry, I have a plan."

"Hold on a minute, you're saying the void is real?"

"I'm guessing."

"Oh, ok."

"But that's not important right now, our goal at the moment is to free Darkrai and Shaymin from the captivity, as once we do that Team Rocket should stop working together with Team Galactic, and best-case scenario, start a gang war."

"Great, how do we do that?"

"When Team Galactic tried to create their New World the first-time round, their plans were foiled by a group of trainers, one of them being the Ex-Sinnoh Champion Cynthia, and the other being a Pokémon Master, however the Pokémon Master has unfortunately gone off the radar, so our only hope is to find the old Sinnoh-Champ and ask if she'd be able to help us out now."

"Ok, but how do we find Cynthia? You can't exactly just Google where people live."

"That's true, however you can view the profile of those Instagram stalkers who take pictures of celebrities without telling them, and thanks to our creepy friends, we know that she's currently staying in a campsite in the Scottish Highlands, the only problem is that since there aren't many machines in the Highlands, I won't be able to come with you."

"Hold that thought, I have an old Pokétch you could stay inside while I wear it on my wrist." Gold said as he looked through multiple messy drawers. "Here it is!" He announced as he tied it to his wrist. The Rotom leaped from out of the PC into the watch. When Gold looked at the watch to see if Rotom made it in ok he could see Rotom typing something out.

"It's a bit small in here." The watch said

"Yeah, well life's a bitch." Gold laughed as he grabbed his wallet and walked out the front door, as he began his journey to the Scottish Highlands in hopes of finding Ex-Champ Cynthia.

Alright, that's chapter 2 done. 2 points to you if you understood the void reference from Diamond and Pearl, if not Poketips made a video about it so if you want, you can check him out so you can have a better understanding of what's coming next. If you enjoyed the story, please leave a review so I can see your thoughts and make some improvements over time, thanks!
