A/N: I wrote this pretty much right after watching the movie. If there are errors, please politely point them out. If there are mistakes in storylines or whatever, it is because I have only seen the movie once. The story's timeline kinda runs together, sorry. I hope you like it anyway. Disclaimer: I don't own anything, and the song at the end is "Saikai Story" by Camui Gackt.
Le Ciel
I opened my eyes and found myself staring up at the bright blue sky. I quickly sat up and looked around.
"Van?... Van, where are you?" I called out. But as I took in the scenery, I realized just as quickly that I had returned to my own time and place. I reached to grasp my necklace in my hands and found it not there. Of course it's gone. I began to wonder if Gaia ... and Van and Folken...if it were all just a dream. I closed my eyes and laid back. Once again I was lying on top of the school roof.
I had thought life had no direction. That I was alone...that all I ever did was hurt the people I loved. But I know now. I am not alone. I have Van. We will never be alone again. Even if he is not right here with me...he is still in my heart. And nothing could ever make me forget him. Nothing could ever make me forget Gaia and what happened.
I heard light footsteps and a shadow fell over me.
"Hitomi, why are you up here? I haven't talked to you since yesterday. Your parents didn't even know where you were."
"I've...been around." I sat up again and looked away from her.
"Well, let's go. They're really worried about you."
Silently, I put on my shoes and stood up. "Just tell them I was at your house or something."
"Alright, Hitomi. You are my friend after all."
I smiled. "Yes. You're my friend." We began to walk to the door leading downstairs.
"Wow! You smiled. Isn't that rare?"
"Shut up!" I said, still smiling.
She just smiled back as we ran down the steps.

We were sitting on the school steps drinking ramune, when she asked me again.
"Are you sure you want to leave the track team?"
I stared at her for a moment. 'Track team? What track team?' I thought.
"I'm sorry ..." she looked down at her soda and played with it nervously. "I guess I shouldn't have asked again."
"Ohhh ... no no it's ok. Maybe I will." I smiled. "Maybe ..."
She grinned happily. "Good! And on that note, I'll race you to your house!"
"Alright! Ready ... set ..."
She took off, laughing.
"No fair!" I yelled, chasing her. I knew I was not alone anymore. I knew life had meaning. I knew I could live for these moments, when everything seemed perfect. When I could laugh, when my heart didn't feel so heavy with sorrow and hatred.
Nothing would ever make me forget Gaia. I would never forget the feel of Van's arms around me ... the warmth of his body ... the air around me when we flew through the sky ... the way the ground looked rushing beneath us. The way he smiled, and the look in his eyes when they met mine. Yes, I am never going to be alone again.

I was called by a dim light ...
It was a fleeting remembrance of my dream,
and I heard the voice of whispers.
The stirring of past is now fading,
and it shows the image of scenery which I could no longer see in a present time.
The image is you, smiling... here beside me.
Yes ... I remember it like it was only yesterday.
You looked into my eyes and touched my heart
deeper inside than anyone ever could.
The joy of sharing,
and that fateful encounter with you,
even those tender memories you and I have made,
everything leaves me behind and vanishes into the light.
I realized that I want to protect you,
in this whole world ... no one else above you.
I will vanish in a moment, but still I craved,
that anything but you... I never want to let go from my hands.
Almost sad and painful,
every precious day your love comforted me and saved my soul,
... I'll never forget that.
