Old moon rising

Summery: Inspired by the line in New moon Rising…Willow: "I feel like some part of me will always be waiting for you. Like if I'm old and blue-haired, and I turn the corner in Istanbul, and there you are, I won't be surprised... because you're with me, you know?"

Prolly sux. Even if it does let me know?

Willow was walking along a crowded lane at a Bazaar. She was in Istanbul trying to help a new slayer that had been detected understand what was happening in her life. The young girl was working her family's booth in the huge market place and Willow had decided to go exploring to try and find something as a gift for Dawn's wedding in 6 weeks.

Willow still had trouble remembering that Dawn was 27 and graduated college with a degree in archeology from Georgetown University and working for a rather prestigious firm based in Washington DC.

Every once and a while a new slayer would be located near where she was digging and she would help to get the girl the information all new slayers needed to know. Dawn had been in Mexico and Willow had called her about one such young lady, and one of the local helpers on the dig happened to be the slayers older brother, who was studying archeology at a university in Mexico City.

Six months later Dawn announced that she and Angelo were getting engaged as soon as he graduated. Angelo graduated 2 months ago and now she were only six weeks away from being the first original scoobies to get married.

Willow was examining a booth full of colorful scarves and bolts of cloth when she felt a familiar tingle at the back of her skill. Looking around for its source she straightened and began walking farther down the lane as the tingle got stronger.

Rounding the corner of a booth selling freshly grilled shish kabobs she came face to face with someone she hadn't seen since Sunnydale. Oz was walking in her direction down the lane she had just turned onto.

The pause in his gate was only a split second as he recognized her. He continued to walk towards her and when he reached her he stopped a respectful distance from her as was dictated by the costumes of the country in which they stood.

"Hey." He said after a moment of silence had passed between the two former lovers/forever friends.

"Hey yourself." She answered with a smile which he returned.

"Fancy seeing you here." She said after another small pause.

"Kinda ironic…don't you think?" He said.

"What do you mean?"

"Well…back in Sunnydale, one of the last things you said to me was about turning a corner in Istanbul and seeing me and not being surprised."

"Wow. I'd forgotten about that…Prophetic much?"

"Kinda fitting though."

"Wanna get a bite to eat?" Willow offered. "We can catch up. I haven't seen you in what…8…9 years?"

"Nine this April." He said. "Yah I could eat."

And the two walked back towards the booth selling kabobs in a companionable silence.
