Part II: A New Life
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Daja looking down on me. I was chained to a bed. My arms were chained together above my head to the headboard. My legs were spread-eagled to the bed posts and my head was chained just below my chin facing upwards allowing no movement. Daja had a cup in his hand. He opened my mouth, as I tried to refuse, and poured the liquid down my throat. As I swallowed, I felt myself transform, painfully. My teeth grew into fangs and I started trashing around on the bed. I realized that it was Daja's blood I was drinking. After I emptied the cup, he grinned at me.
I became drowsy and awoke to see myself standing upright while two women were dressing me in an elegant periwinkle blue dress. They escorted me, still handcuffed in front, to a huge ballroom where Daja, Briar, and some other lady were standing on a dias. Briar looked lost and confused. I ran up to Briar and tried to wake him up, while the two ladies were trying to drag me away. Daja stepped between us and said that Briar wouldn't respond until I marry Daja. I didn't know it at the time, but Daja had put aspell on Briar to make him unresponsive to all except Libbie. I agreed, only because I wanted to talk to him about where we were, what had happened, and what was going on.
After the ceremony, Daja took off my handcuffs and escorted me to a different room. I kept on begging him to let me see by brother. He would either change the subject or say that he was busy. After that, I never saw my brother again.
