I'm a coward

Scared and lost in a web of uncertainty

And like a blanket of doubt, I wrap myself around you

And you're a coward too,

Tumbling helplessly along

Pulled by the current of life

Clinging, trembling, afraid;

Chicken.

Flashing eyes, your eyes, cut through shades of gray haze

The haze of defining terror.

You shine a harsh light

Making everything so clear.

I huddle away

I'm a coward.

Your hand is out

But I can't take it;

Such a coward, so afraid

I watch you move away

Ever forward, the gray coming toward you and your light forces it back

And I'm too scared to follow.

Small, useless, idiot I am;

Call me a coward.
