A Whole New World
I was playing this song on the piano, and I figured that a great song deserved a story to go with it.

I can show you the world,
shining, shimmering, splendid.
Tell me princess, now when did
you last let your heart decide?
It was true. Harry Potter had changed Ginny's life. He had shown her the good in things…and the bad. He never made her do something she didn't want to do. They'd only been married for three months, and he was called to fight Voldemort. She knew he might not return. She knew all of that, but her heart should be able to decide this one.
I can open your eyes,
take you wonder by
wonder. Over sideways,
and under on a magic
carpet ride.
She was wrong. She had a girlish crush on him in the beginning that sort of morphed into a teenage romance…no…not just a romance, it truly was love. The entire time she knew him, he'd taken her heart through a maze. He almost died seven times, she didn't think she could take another one. But, she had never let him down.
A whole new world,
a new fantastic point
of view. No one to tell
us no, or where to go,
or say we're only dreaming.
Together, they could do anything. They were invincible. They were fantastic. It wasn't just a romance, they were a team. Nobody had told them no. Of course, there weren't many people that could. Just her parents…and they had been very accepting. Fred and George…she laughed. Fred and George had made a joke about it…like usual, but they'd changed, too. All her family had. Ron and Hermione had become a team, too. She loved her brother, and Hermione was her best friend. And…no, they weren't just dreaming, either. Their silly crushes had turned into realities, too.
A whole new world,
a dazzling place I
never knew. But
when I'm way up
here, it's crystal
clear that now I'm
in a whole new world with
you.
Ginny never knew Harry's world. He really never understood her world, either. They'd conquered both, to make a new world of their own. It wasn't a bad world…it was just…just a hard world. It was different, but never deceiving. It was their world, their love.
Unbelievable sights,
indescribable feeling.
Soaring, tumbling,
free-wheeling through
an endless diamond sky.
Well, the song she was singing in her head was only half right. She'd seen her brothers, and Harry bleeding, and near death. She'd narrowly escaped Voldemort herself only to save him. To save Harry. On a night like tonight, she was looking up into the glittering diamond sky from her bedroom window. Why did she think he'd be flying on his broomstick towards their house? She shouldn't get her hopes up.
A whole new world, a
hundred thousand things
to see. I'll chase them
anywhere, there's time to
spare. Let me share this
whole new world with you.
He'd almost, almost given up hope for her. In her first year, he saved her…because he had to. Not out of love, not out of friendship. Why then? Why did he save his best friend's little sister? But he loved her deep down, in a different way. That separated him from the rest. The world they'd created, they couldn't just leave it alone…she needed him…he needed her…they shared it together. He'd been almost reluctant at first.
"Harry, I can't do it alone. I can't manage this world alone. But, I'll share it with you."
A whole new world,
that's where we'll be.
A wondrous place…
For you and me.
