The strain of being the only saviour
As Kite looked up at the statues face at Delta Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground, he couldn't help but feel depressed from not only the event happening in 'The World', but also from incidents that happened from over the past week.
Things had been bad, his parents arguing along with his siblings, who were the cause to his parents quarrelling. After escaping to 'The World' he had gone on a side quest with Sanjuro and Blackrose and then a different one with Balmung and Wiseman.
Even though being in 'The World' with his friends, he was still depressed and couldn't cheer up even after meeting his long time friend Elk and meeting for the first time A-20 and Bear.
The Heavy Blades and Wavemasters didn't notice the miserable look on Kite's face but Balmung did. The Blade Master couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with the normally cheerful Twin Blade.
As the aqua haired boy sighed and lowered his head so that it was resting on his arms over the rail, he didn't hear or notice the approaching footsteps from behind him,
"Kite," the voice spoke softly, startling the Twin Blade slightly, "are you alright?"
Kite turned round to find Balmung stood a few yards away,
"Oh, hi Balmung … I'm ok," he answered before looking away,
"No you're not. You've been like this since you invited me this afternoon, what's wrong?"
Kits sighed again as he leaned against the railings and slid down them so that he was sat on the floor,
"You really want to know?" he asked with defeated eyes. All Balmung could do was nod his head slowly. Seeing the young hacker looking depressed and alone, despite him being there made his heart sink.
"Ok then," Kite took a deep breath, "I can't remember when it all started but I know that I've been alone. Even though my family have been there, I've felt as if nobody could help me. Then Orca told me about 'The World' and I though 'yes, somewhere where I won't be alone!'
"But after Skeith Data Drained Orca, I somehow knew that I was alone again." Kita pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his head on his knees before continuing, "Even though I've got you guys on here, I can't help but feel like this,"
"Maybe its because you were thrown into this when you first started this game," Balmung suggested as he walked over to the teenager,
"No, I don't think that's it,"
"Then what is it?" the winged man asked,
"It might be …" Kite trailed off,
"It might be what?" Balmung asked as he sat down next to him,
"It might be because … I'm scared …"
"Of what?"
"Losing everyone," Kite whispered before hiding his face in his arms,
"I don't understand," the white haired man said, confused,
"Its like this, whenever I make friends or get close to someone, they leave or hurt me and it gets me down … and I'm afraid that you're going to leave me too … all of you," he explained, his voice cracking while tears threatened to fall.
The next thing Balmung did shocked him, he turned round and hugged the small hacker while Kite caved in and cried in the elders chest, "I'm not going to leave you Kite, no matter what ok," the Blade Master whispered to the younger of the two while rubbing his back in a circular motion, softly but slowly.
