Author's Note: This is just a small Jekyll/Skinner fluff drabble. I don't own LXG or any literary character, please don't sue me.

Rodney Skinner wandered about the dark corridors of the Nautilus, invisible. He was on his way to get himself a late night drink of scotch from the kitchens. As he quietly marched, his bare feet touching the cold floor, Skinner caught sight of something. Ahead of him was a figure pacing around in the dark. It was Henry Jekyll, pacing and muttering to himself.

Curious what was on the lanky doctor's mind, Skinner approached Henry. "You all right Doc?" he asked.

Henry's blue-grey eyes widened. "Skinner?"

"Course it is, who else on this boat can speak without being seen? I was just on my way to get a drink until I saw you out here in the dark."

Saying nothing, the doctor wrapped his night robe around his skinny form and shuddered in the chill.

"So..." Skinner continued speaking, "why are you pacing around and muttering to yourself?"

"It's just..." Henry started, staring at the floor, "I can't sleep. Hyde... he always teases me, gives me a hard time. Sometimes he keeps reminding me of all the horrible things he did..."

"Try to ignore him then."

"I try, Skinner, I really do try... It does not always work. There are times when I began wishing that I was... dead." There was a glint of tears appearing in Henry's eyes.

"Why would you wish something like that?"

"Maybe I just want my life to end so I may finally have peace, away from Edward tormenting me. He's been getting bigger over the years, soon he'll take control of me completely!"

"It's alright," said Skinner placing his hands gently on Henry's shoulders, "you don't have to worry when I'm here."

Henry gave Skinner a small, but accepting smile. The two embraced, knowing that no matter how difficult things are, they would be there for each other.
