Angel Amung Us

She knew the minute he walked in the door. She didn't see him but she knew he was there. He had aura about him that raidiated something that Seajae couldn't put a finger on. But when you're almost two hundred years old you can carry yourself any way you want. She felt his hand on her shoulder before it landed there. She felt his warm breath agaist her neck. He grabbed her wrist before she could reach for the weapon no one but him knew she kept hidden.

"You never did like to play fair."

"Me play fair? I think you got it turned around their mister." He released her hand. She turned around and looked at him. He looked like crap. She'd never seen him look anything but neat and tidy even after a fight. "God Angel what the hell happened to you?"

"Hell is what happened. Christ Seajae you know what happened."

"I know…but…. When was the last time you slept…or ate." He looked at her. She knew the answer. "Where's Conner?"

"I left him back in LA to clean up the mess." She took his hand and slid off the barstool and guided him though the crowded bar. She led him up the back steps into the apartment above. She locked the door behind her and headed to the refrigirator. Taking out a bottle she opened it and handed it to him.

"You keep blood in your refrigirator. What must you husband think?" He took a drink. It was fresh.

"I don't tell Bosco everything…. At least I haven't yet." She looked at the man she had knowen most of her life. A man until fifteen years ago had been evil to the core. "Is everything in LA taken care of?"

"Yeah." He took a long drink of his lifeline. "But it's moving east."

"I figured you didn't just come to say hi." Boosting herself on the stool across from him she looked him in the eye. "It's going to be bad isn't it?"

"Yeah. Real bad." Angel never lied to her. Even when he was evil.

"Well I can get the help we need. I can't promise they all will believe but…"

"As long as the know this isn't an ordinary fight."

"When has anything with me been ordinary?" He knew she was right. Seajae Marie Boscorelli led an extrodany life.

"Nothing as I recall."

"We can be ready in a heartbeat." Angel knew she was right. She would have an army at her beck and call. She's been like that as a child. The group homes she grew up in were hard and cold but she brought warmth to them all. She made them each a family. Even if it just for her. Now she could put together an army with the snap of her fingers. This one had grown up strong. Stronger then he could of imagined.

"Thank you for not thinking twice about this."

"Even Angelus wouldn't lie to me about the end of the world as we know it." Seajae looked at Angel's expressive dark eyes.

"You never doubted what was in me."

"Angel was always there even if Angelus didn't let him show though." The phone rang just then. Seajae reached for her cell phone clipped on her waist. "Boscorelli."

"You're going to be late." Bosco's voice broke Seajae out of her thoughts of the past.

"How late?" She was supposed to make dinner tonight. Dinner for the whole family and then some.

"There do in twenty minutes."

"Sorry I got lost in some work." Bosco knew she did that a lot.

"Bring it home with you." Seajea smiled. She would bring this work home with her. Bosco needed to meet Angel. Everyone would need to be brought up to speed.

"I'm on my way." She put her phone back on her waist and looked at Angel. "You ready to meet the family?"

"Now?" Angel wasn't sure dinner was the right time to tell a bunch of New York cops and fire fighters that the city is going to be attacked by demons and be destroyed.

"No better time then the present." Seajae took her coat and purse and headed toward the door. "You coming?" Angel looked sceptical but he followed behind her. He knew she was getting in over her head again but her learned a long time ago not to argue with her.
