"You fools!" Inspector Nakamori shouted. "After him!"
There was a roar of footsteps as the policemen ran after the dummy, thinking it was Kid.
Kid snickered from behind his corner, before running off to collect the target of tonight's heist.
He maneuvered through the third-rate traps with ease; a tweak here, proper movement here, and he was in.
"Ohayou, Kaitou Kid," A sultry voice said.
1412 froze, quickly regained his composure, and turned suavely to the owner of the voice.
A teenage girl was leaning against the gems case, arms crossed and left leg crossed over her right. Some of her wavy brown hair was pinned back, most of it falling just below her shoulders. The unidentified woman wore a sailor school uniform, giving the rather convincing impression of an innocent young school girl who got lost while visiting the museum.
He grinned bewitchingly at her and crossed his hand across his stomach as he bowed. He righted himself, and spoke to her with a boyish charm. "Ah, and what might I ask is a lovely young lady such as yourself doing here?"
The girl cocked her head to the right, looking cutely at him as if she were a confused puppy. "What do you mean, 'what am I doing here'? You're trying to steal this gem-that's wrong!"
"I have my reasons," The phantom answered.
He moved forward quickly, and once he was in front of her moved as if to gently push her out of his way. She reached up just as he did, and he caught her wrist just as she was about to push him away.
He tried to move her aside, but his push was just a little too much, and it ended up pushing her to the floor, wrist sliding out of his hand.
In her surprise, the brunet screamed as she fell, causing the outraged yells of Nakamori as he found out he'd been duped to stop.
Kid opened the case, and took out the emerald.
"Sorry about that," The thief said, "Please give my respects to Inspector Nakamori." There was a puff of blue smoke, and he disappeared.
The green eyed girl looked at where the boy her own age had just been, and smiled.
"Open the door! Disengage the traps! Someone's in there! Kid could have hurt them!" Nakamori's voice rang out, giving quick orders to the officers abound him.
The girl smirked now, and looked down at the glittering emerald in her hand as the officers rushed in.
What a fool,
Kid's Heist Hindered!
"NANI!" Kaito yelled, staring at the front page of the newspaper in horror.
He'd-how'd-he was sure it wasn't a fake!
"Oh, yeah, didn't you hear? A teenage girl thwarted Kid's heist last night!" Aoko yelled excitedly.
Akako smirked at Kaito. "Blow to the pride, isn't it?"
"What are you talking about, Akako?" Aoko asked confused.
"Nothing, don't listen to her," Kaito said quickly.
"I just wish I could've been the one to stop him-or at least meet the girl who did." Hakuba said, standing over the other boy, hand on his chin.
"Too bad she didn't stick around long enough for the press to get a picture of her, or her account of what happened." Aoko said. "Dad said once they got in the room she stood up and handed the emerald to him. After that she barely stayed around long enough for the press to see her blush and mumble 'can I go now?' before running off."
Hakuba sighed. "Shame," He commented as the door slid open.
