Summery: Sitting down and analysing the relationship you have with someone is never easy, and seldom painless. Manipulation always makes it harder. (one-shot)
A/N: Guess who.
With you, it was never quite right.
There was always this creeping feeling there was something wrong. But you never seemed to notice. Then again, you never did notice much. Only everything but how oblivious you were.
There lines were always skewed, and a tiny bit blurred. Just enough that I didn't know where to step. And if I didn't know where to step, I couldn't move, and you kept your control. Could I call it that? That was what it was. But I could have had a crueller master. As long as I didn't stray from your boundaries, you were benevolent, at the least. But it got to a point where I wasn't sure who was in control- me or you. Clever, that. It was an illusion, though, wasn't it? You were always pulling my strings.
I thought I was holding all the cards. I thought I was holding them close to my chest, too. Yet every once in a while, you'd smile and call my bluff, even if I wasn't bluffing, and I'd freeze. Then you'd gently set me back on square one, and watch while I screamed and raged and cried at the injustice of what you did, and laugh. And once you were tired of seeing my pretty little emotions on display, you'd yank on a string, and make me be quiet.
It never was fair, or right, amd it's my fault as much as it is yours.
End-
