SUMMARY: A double drabble where Draco visits his father one last time.
Mercury Met
"How dare you?" Lucius rasped at his son, his voice hoarse and hateful. Two years in Azkaban has done nothing for him. His hair was tangled, his face gaunt, his clothes in tatters, but his self-possession was still evident.
Draco's lips twitched, as he paced just outside his father's bars, brandishing the snake-headed cane that he has claimed as his own. He cut an elegant figure, slender and tall, trimmed in silver, black and green. "How dare I what, Father? How dare I choose the winning side when you could not?"
"How dare you choose that filthy sodomite, that Potter, over everything? Over your father, your heritage, your own kind, your Master?" Draco's frame became still, and Lucius knew the boy would tell him nothing.
Draco faced his father squarely, and mercury met mercury, chilled and distant. The boy shrugged, tapping on the door for the guard to let him out. He offered his father one last smile, before leaving him to his fate. "Potter goes better with my outfit," he informed the man sweetly.
"Enjoy your time biting pillows, Draco," Lucius snarled, succumbing to his impotent rage.
"Enjoy your time having your soul sucked out, Father," Draco returned, unruffled.
