He turns from me and goes to her.

As always.

That this is in his faithful nature to do does not ease my pain. Though, I do understand . . .

He has obligations to her he must fulfill. But it is my fervent hope that once those are through, he will keep that promise he made to me the moment he took my hand, gazed into my eyes even under her watchful glare, and asked,

"Will you bear my children?"

This is the first of many bite-sized pieces I plan to post in the (distant) future. I'm not new to the fandom, but I've been forcibly dragged out of my haitus from writing, and I'm retesting the waters.
