For my Seifer/Squall claim at fated(underscore)children at LiveJournal, themes "fear" and "masks".
"You're afraid of me," he whispered, nibbling on Squall's ear. "Aren't you?"
"…No," he said, quietly, but his voice was very soft; fading. He tilted his head, let Seifer touch him as he wanted. He didn't care. Gave himself up to it. Liked it, secretly, enjoyed his lover's dominance.
But if he was being truthful, he was afraid. Seifer could feel it in every tremor and response of Squall's body; the hitched breath, the fluttering pulse beneath his lips. Squall's body couldn't lie. Its controlled responses kept its secrets in every day life, but in Seifer's bed, Squall couldn't hold on to that control of his. He came undone so easily, unravelling, unfolding, in Seifer's arms.
Seifer liked seeing that. And he knew that Squall liked letting go.
Squall was always so fucking untouchable. So high above them all, Commander of life and death, of who went where, of who fought what. He wasn't allowed uncertainty, fear, hesitance…
So, in Seifer's embrace, where he allowed himself to feel, there was fear. There was uncertainty. There was hesitance. And Seifer loved to watch it. Seifer loved Squall, all of him, of course, but he always felt a harsh ache in his chest when he watched the Commander, the mask that hid away his love for days at a time. He couldn't make himself love the Commander.
But his lover wasn't the Commander. Seifer made sure of that. Knew and exploited his knowledge of how to push Squall's buttons. Of how to make him boneless, thoughtless, breathless… How to take him apart and put him back together.
So his lover wasn't that man they all saw. The man they called Commander, never even thinking that he might hate it. The man who was their Lion, their Lionhearted one, their hero. His lover was simply Squall, insecure, and sometimes, just plain afraid. He didn't know the Commander. But he knew exactly how to make him come undone.
"You're afraid of me," he whispered again.
Squall nodded. He hated it, feared it, but at the same time loved it. Coming undone, in Seifer's arms, in Seifer's bed, in Seifer's heart…
