It was 3 o'clock and Miss Strubin was rattling on about history and the importance of slavery. Everyone seemed to be listening except for one blonde boy with freckles. He was daydreaming….again.

'I wonder if she's ever thought about being more than friends.' Ron thought as he stared at Kim. He knew he had feelings for her, but just never told her. Suddenly, the bell rang and the class stampeded out of the room, leaving Miss Strubin to stand there and scratch her head.

"Ron are you alright?" Kim said with a worried expression on her face. "I'm fine, just really thinking hard, that's all."

"Well, I would quit before you hurt yourself." She giggled. Ron knew she was joking. She had always been his best friend no matter what he had said to possibly hurt her.

"Hey Ron, are we still on for Bueno Nacho?" Monique called out. Ron nodded and then joined his other friend. "See ya later, KP." He stated not noticing the hurt expression on Kim's face. "Bye Ron." She said quietly.

Monique and Ron reached Bueno Nacho and ordered. After retrieving their food, they sat down at the table that was normally reserved for Ron and Kim.

Rufus jumped out of Ron's pocket and dug into his part of the Naco. Monique smiled and then began to talk to Ron.

"So how long have you been hiding it?" she said with a smirk. "Hiding what?" Ron tried to act like he had no idea what she was talking about. "How long have you been hiding feelings for Kim? And don't lie because I saw you staring in History today and yesterday." He looked at her surprised and then hung his head.

"Since Pre-K….but I haven't really realized it until now." He looked up to see Monique's wide eyes. "THAT LONG!" she said quite loudly, making Ron look around to see if anyone was looking at them.

"Yes, that long." He stated. "Ron, you really need to tell her, or else she'll never know."

"But, how?" he said in his usual voice. "She'd never go for a guy like me. And if she said no, what would it do to our friendship?" He looked depressed again.

"And what if she said yes?" A smile creeping onto Monique's face. "Then what would you do? Just leave her there wondering what happened?"

Ron perked up at the thought of Kim saying yes. "You're right. I'm going to tell her and I'm not going to worry about the consequences."

"That's right. Now it's time to boost your confidence. You need more self esteem. Now, say this with me…'I think I'm gorgeous'"

Ron, catching on to the famous line from Miss Congeniality, started to say it. "I think I'm gorgeous." He blushed at the statement.

"Good." Monique replied. "Now, 'She'll want to kiss me."

"She'll want to kiss me." Ron stated this time with more enthusiasm.

"Now say it like you mean it!" Monique yelled. It was a good thing they were the only customers in the restaurant.

Ron, with a new boost of confidence, used the movie's jingle to the words to sing out loud, "I think I'm gorgeous, she'll want to kiss me, she'll want to date me, she'll want to…" Not knowing he had stood up on the table while saying this, Ron fell on his back onto the floor.

"Don't we feel better about ourselves, Ron?" Monique chimed in.

"Much better." Ron smiled. "In fact, I'll tell Kim tomorrow. I'll ask her to go to the mall with me, and at the right moment I'll ask her the question that may change my social status forever."

Monique just thought to herself, 'I knew you could do it Ron.'

"Bye, Monique see you tomorrow."

"Bye, Ron" she yelled as the newly confident teen walked out the door.

"And you may want to zip up your jeans."
