The Phantom's Story

There is a man behind a mask

With way to dark of a past

He gets no compassion from anyone

There is no pity for this unique someone

From everyone he gets a glare

Nobody will ever give him a prayer

He lives alone in his darkness

And there is only one person who he will miss

A young lady named Christine

The only one who saw that he wasn't mean

The only one who gave him a chance

To redeem himself from his past

Then a young boy came along

And made Christine sing a different song

A song of love and a song of hope

And with this the phantom just couldn't cope

So he devised an evil plan

To take Christine from her beloved man

He took her away and down to his lair

Where she would have to make a difficult choice there

To live with the phantom or to watch her love die

For her answer all she could do was cry

But eventually her good soul gave in

And with this the phantom did win

Soon after they became bride and groom

But something unusual happened that saved Christine from her doom

She let the phantom kiss her on her forehead

And oh! She did not fall down dead!

Then the phantom began to cry

And so did Christine with her beautiful eyes

And so they wept together

And soon things got a whole lot better

The phantom knew Christine would never love him

And that their future was very dim

He took Christine by the hand and said,

"Christine we do not have to get wed."

And with that Christine gave him a kiss

Then went off to her new found bliss

As for the phantom he died from love

But Christine did not forget their little cove

She buried him in his special place just like he asked

And now Christine too can move on from her past
