Chapter 6
The next day was a school day. On the way to school, Riku kept staring at Sora. Sora didn't see him staring, but he could feel his eyes crawling up and down his spine. Kia was walking right next to Sora. She glanced back at Riku. Looking into his dead eyes gave her the chills. 'Sigh… I wish he didn't go to the same school as us.' She thought. Riku stopped to tie his shoelaces. The two teens stopped to wait for him. Riku looked up. "It's okay, you don't have to wait up for me. I know you want to go." Kia and Sora looked at each other, then back at Riku. "Nah, we'll wait." Sora said. Riku looked down. He expected them to leave, but they stayed. "You… you're not… leaving?" He asked. "Nope!" Kia said. "T-thank you." Riku said. After Riku finished, they started off again. Instead of staring at Sora, he looked down. He knew he didn't deserve their kindness. Riku had a sudden urge to take a load off his heart, to tell about what he did to Sora. But he couldn't.
Once they reached school, Riku walked away from Kia and Sora. "Huh? What?" Sora said bewildered. "Why do you think he walked away?" Kia asked. Sora shrugged. The two teens stood there for a few seconds then headed off to class.
Kia and Sora took their seats. "Uh… isn't Riku here today, Sora?" Mr. Akimore asked. "Yes, Sir, but I don't know where he is right now." Sora replied. The students looked at each other, murmuring.
Sora didn't know what was going on, so he volunteered to search for Riku and raised his hand. "Mr. Akimore, um, can I help search for Riku?" He asked. Mr. Akimore nodded. "Go ahead, Sora, but try to make it quick." He said. "Thank you, sir." Sora said as he ran out of the classroom. Kia looked worried. 'Oh, Sora, I really hope you find Riku, but… what if… he trys to… r-rape you again? I'm afraid. Sora, please stay safe…' She thought.
Sora walked all around campus trying to find Riku. So far, he had no luck. He was so confused. Where WOULD Riku go? Would he go home? Sora shook his head, but then he thought, 'Hey… I haven't checked the bathrooms yet. I'll check there first.' The first bathroom he tried was the only one he had to, because he finally found Riku!
Riku was sitting in a gray-blue, open bathroom stall, crying. Imagine this. Imagine a tough, sixteen year old boy crying. The first you'd think is, how pitiful, right?
Sora was worried. "R-Riku? A-are you okay?" He asked as he peeked into the stall. Riku gasped as he quickly looked up from his fetal position. Sora quietly and slowly opened the stall door. The door squeaked open as he walked into the stall. Riku use his shaky hands to wipe his tears. "I-I'm fine…" He whispered. Sora knelt down to look at Riku in the eyes and placed his hands on Riku's shoulders. "Please, tell me what's wrong." He said in a caring tone. "Are you really that concerned?" Riku asked. Sora nodded. This was unexpected. Why would Sora care about Riku?
More tears ran down Riku's face. "I-I'm really s-sorry, Sora! I don't know what came over me! I c-can't believe I did t-that to you! And now, here you are treating my like a normal person, being so forgiving! I r-really don't deserve it!" He sobbed. Sora started to tremble. "R-Riku… you deserve my forgiveness. I know you do! I don't know why, but I feel so different about you! I have different feelings now." Sora said. "After that day… something came over me. And the only reason looked at Kia was to get my mind off of you!" Riku was surprised. He knelt down next to Sora and took Sora's hands in his. "Y-you really, really did? You have feelings for me?" He asked. Sora looked down. "If you really do, then… I want you to… k-kiss me." Riku said.
