Chapter Seven
The entire way to the Senior Hall, Cordelia ranted on and on about what was cool and what wasn't. Buffy was getting bored and fast, and it wasn't that far from the parking lot to the hall they were heading to. They walked up to the "popular group" with Angel not far behind.
" 'Ello Angel, Cordy, and hello there cutie," Spike says to the three walking up.
"It's Buffy, thanks," Buffy replies dryly.
Spike holds his hands up in mock surrender.
"She's one of the McNarnys who moved in next to Angel," says Cordy.
"Oh," everybody says.
As the guys started looking at Buffy like all they wanted was to get into her pants, she was glad when another girl walked by and got the attention off of her.
"Hey there stick figure," Gunn said to the girl while nearly tripping her but still making her drop all of her books.
As the rest of the group snickered, Buffy shot Gunn a dirty look and bent down to help the girl collect her books.
"Here," Buffy said handing the girl two books.
"Thanks," said the girl. She was kind of surprised that anyone who was hanging out with the "in crowd" would want to help her.
"No problem," Buffy says standing up.
"Well, I should really go find the office now," Buffy says trying to get away from the group.
"I'll show you the way," the girl offers.
"Great, thanks."
"My name is Fred by the way," the girl says as they head towards the office.
"Mine's Buffy. It's nice to meet you." Buffy replies, noticing Freds southern accent for the first time.
"That was really nice what you did for me back there," Fred tells Buffy.
"It was no biggie, those guys must be jerks if they treat you that way," Buffy answers in return.
"Well, here we are," Fred says stopping in front of the office. "You can sit with me and my friens at luch. Ya know, if you want and all."
"Cool, thanks." Buffy says as she walks into the office.
Back by the "popular group" as they watch Buffy and Fred walk away.
"Gee, was I ever wrong about her. She's heading off towards loserville," Cordy says in disgust.
" Yah, well maybe she wouldn't be if you guys hadn't been total jerks," Angel says angrily as he headed off towards first period.
"What's his problem?" Faith askes thinking she must have missed something.
" Beats me," Spike says just as the bell for first period rings and they all go there seperate ways.
