"Come on Daniel," Janet pleaded. "Please?"
"I already said I wanted to go, Janet."
"No," Jack objected. "You said, and I quote, 'Mayan ruins!'"
"Yeah, so? That's what the Garrafón brochure mentioned."
"No offense, Daniel." Sam spoke up. "But we had in mind snorkeling, not archaeology."
Daniel gave his fellow workaholic a Look. "Traitor."
"Besides," Janet cut in. "You've never been snorkeling before, have you?"
"Well, you've never seen Mayan ruins before, have you?"
"Does Hathor count?" Jack asked teasingly.
"Definitely not." Daniel said with a shudder. "I said I wanted to see the ruins in Mexico, not the sluts. Besides, she was Egyptian, not Mayan."
"Po-TAY-to, po-TA-to."
"Let's put it this way," Janet said. "What did you do the last time you were in Central America?"
"Uh…got kidnapped and tortured."
"While exploring…" Janet prompted.
"…a Mayan temple."
"Hmm, sounds to me like you should stay away from that stuff." Jack said with a sparkle in his eyes.
"Oh yes, because I'm sure there are so many anti-Honduran rebels hanging around a Mexican tourist attraction just waiting to nab me."
"Oh, come on, Daniel." Sam said. "General Hammond was nice enough to send us all to Cancun for R&R. The least we could do is…"
"Rest and relax." Jack interrupted. "Besides…open bar by the beach!"
"And I'll bet you look cute in swim-fins." Janet said, snuggling up next to Daniel.
Daniel grinned despite himself. Looking down at Janet, he could feel his resolve weaken.
"Alright, fine." Daniel conceded, planting a kiss on Janet's head.
"Wait a minute," Janet said skeptically. "Why was that so easy?"
"I just realized it'd be worth it to see you in that new bathing suit of yours."
Sam and Jack watched in amusement as Daniel took off running down the beach, Janet not far behind.
"Daniel Jackson! You get back here!" Janet called out as she nearly caught up to him.
In response Daniel stopped running and scooped her into his arms. She let out a shriek as he swung her around until they fell in a heap onto the sand.
"You were right." Daniel said after he'd caught his breath.
"About what?"
"This is much better than archaeology."
