CHAPTER 1; MID AFTERNOON

It was mid afternoon. The sun was beginning to retreat from it's hard work of keeping the plant warm, it slowly sunk behind the clouds. Vast forest surrounded us yet there was no food to track or hunt, and in a wolf's mind that was all that mattered. Just then as I began to turn my gaze to the setting sun yet again someone called. I stopped suddenly and was nipped in the heels by the wolves running behind me.

Move it, Rottura!

C-Can't you hear it?

they all stopped yelling and listened as soon as i said that.

Zala, you here it, right?

I said to my elder brother.

No, i here nothing

But just as he finished his sentence his large ears shot up. The sound i heard before was calling again. The whole pack stood in surprise at what they heard, but by the way they began to act it was almost like they knew what it was. I suddenly felt very left-out. Then Without warning our leader came charging over to the section of the pack in which we stood.

Who heard it? he yelled

Who is it that brought about the noise?

Every wolf's eyes turned onto me

W-what? I stammered

I turned to Zala with qustioning eyes. He turned away from my gaze as if he were asamed.

Did you call upon Cheza? the leaders voice was calm now

Who?

All of a sudden my ears picked up a new sound, and my nose detected a new sent. Too little too late. My pack parted suddenly and gracefully, but I however, still recovering from the mystery surrounding the first noise, was not so quick. Four wolves came through, they were looking around in curiosity at us all. Expecily me, who was the only one who remained in front of them. There was a pure white wolf, who, as he passed gave me an odd, akward glance. The other three gave much more friendly looks as the passed, at least two did. There was one, a black wolf with an X shaped scare across his chest who didn't look at me at all. As all four passed I noticed that they were all heading in the direction that the strange noise had come from. Almost at once I had this urge to follow, my pack seemed to disappear from around me and all that was left was a feeling of wide openness, and then, with out even thinking about it I took a step toward them. I caught my self, but when i took that first step it felt i had just begun a juroney.

what are you doing, Rottura? It was Zala

I feel like i have to go there

He gave me a blank look. I, began to feel the urge again, the urge gave me a sense of courage. Once again with out thinking I turned to face my leader.

I MUST GO THERE! I screamed

He gave me a blank look

Go where? His voice was very calm and level despite the dis respect i was showing him

Y-yeah, where must you go? That was Zala

U-uh... I wasn't even sure really, but in that instant only one word came to mind

Paradise

I took off...toward a new beginning
