A Tale of Two Hobbits

A hobbit by name of Peregrin Took
Had no patience for learning from books
He preferred making mischief with his cousin Merry
Stealing both carrot, mushroom, and berry
Setting off fireworks at old Bilbo's party
These two young hobbits acted quite hearty
When Frodo set off to destroy the One Ring
They gathered their courage and started to sing
They fought their way through many a trouble
From the Mines of Moria to Isengard's rubble
But the hardest was when these two had to part
Although both knew they'd be together in heart
Pippin rescued the crazed Steward's son
Merry fought with Eowyn till the Witch King was done
The battle was over; the Ring was no more
And yet soon, poor Frodo left for the Gray Shores
Around both hobbits, true love started its' tight weave
Estella for Merry, and for Pip, Diamond of Long Cleeve
They lived out their lives full of honor and glory
And throughout all of hist'ry has passed down their story

I wrote this in the beautiful woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. That may have had an influence on me.
