Disclaimer: I do not own the concept of the Babel fish. That and all other Hitchhikers propaganda belongs to the wonderful Douglas Adams.
A/N: I've been wondering what it would be like to be a Babel fish for a while now so I thought I'd write a poem showing what I think it would be like. This is just my interpretation. Enjoy!
Ode to being a Babel fish
I'm small and slim and yellow,
You put me in your ear,
I feed off of your brain waves,
And translate all you hear!
I know your every secret,
But I will keep them well,
Because, you see, I have no voice,
So I can never tell!
I'm really rather useful,
If you're lost in space one day,
For if you met some aliens,
I could tell you what they say!
And I would not complain,
If you asked for nothing more,
Than for me to help you understand,
Because that is what I'm for!
You may think it funny,
To be a Babel fish,
But I am quite contented,
For it fulfils my every wish!
A/N: Hope you enjoyed my little poem if so please review.
