Summary: Logan had only one question where Alex and max were concrned: Why?
1/1:
He asked himself aquestion as he watched the two transgenics who were once more in another heated arguement. As she was telling him what a screw up he was he could only smile at her. Logan rolled his eyes as Alec managed to turn her insult towards him into a sexual inudendo.
"Oh, yes, Alec, because we all know I want you so much," quipped back Max as sarcastically as possible.
"See that wasn't so hard was it," grinned Alec.
Logan expected her to say something back, to deny it or at least yell at him. But all she did was glare at him. And all Alec did was smirk at her. Logan noticed that they were standing so close that if MAx were to move another inch that their lips would be touching. And when Alec roughly kissed her he couldn't say anything.
He once again asked himself a certain question when Max went into heat. He tried to tell himself that he didn't hold either one of them responsible. After all Max was in heat and Alec could do nothing but react to it. It really wasn't their fault, right? Ofcourse not. But then why did he feel so angry towards both of them?
That night he was supposed to meet Max at the crash. When he walked in he saw Max sitting on Alec's lap as if it were the most natural thing to her in the world. Alec had his arms wrapped around her waist and glared at anyone that so much as gave max a look of interest. He even was afraid to go near them. He watched as Max suddenly grabbed him and they kissed. He didn't even try to make his presence known before they both left because he couldn't say anything.
He watched a few days later as Alex slammed Max into the nearest wall with his body. In his mind Alec seemed desperate as well as upset.
"Say it," demanded Alec in a dangerous whisper.
Logan wondered what the hell the angry transgenic wanted to hear max say so badly. He had Max pinned against the wall that Logan wasn't aware he posessed. But, Max seemed unaffected by how roughly Alec was pushed against her.
"Say what," asked Max with a tone that held a sense of annoyance, though she didn't try to push him away from herself.
"I'm leaving tommorow unless you give me a good reason to say," said Alec with a serious look on his face.
Logan felt his heart break when Alec leaned in to kiss her before leaving her, perhaps forever. What broke his heart was how soft it was. Logan felt tear slip down his cheek as he watched Max after Alec left.
She looked exactly how he felt on the inside. Broken. Gone. Torn in half. Having no idea what she should be doing.
How long had this been going on? Was he not good enough for her? He loved her with all that he was and she had gone and fallen in love with someone else that she swore she couldn't stand. It looked like she could stand him just fine. He realized that none of those questions really mattered. He had only the same question he had been asking himself lately...
Logan really had only one question where Alec and Amx were concerned: Why...
