Whose hair was red and black
And similar to fire.
Rockna Hiragi,
A white girl from Japan,
Whose hair and eyes were emerald green,
And whose voice was pleasant and soothing.
Among the multitude of students
In a school district in New York,
These two had found each other,
Standing out from all people.
Then again,
Both had been boyfriend and girlfriend
Since their lives in Japan
As little kids.
Neither would have sought a black student.
