It is ludicrous to say that Zoro can be afraid. They don't settle for death, unless they do.
And the swordsman takes pride in not straining to believe in his captain - any time. The word 'first' hovers warmly somewhere far enough not to bother assessing it. He will not get lost or misled.
It's only in the moments when the wind swishes through the dark flames of hair, there is a fleeting longing on the edge of envy: he doesn't have to die to hear pulse of things in existence. He doesn't have to, and it's not even faith.
