Justified

By Spectra16

I justified my acts

By pretending to save you.

Everyone makes mistakes.

But now the ideas haunt

Wine glasses taunt.

My inferior thoughts are fakes.

My alliance can't change

What I have done.

I could never take it back.

But second thoughts do arrive

When those men drive by,

And remind me of where you are.

I had to confirm you were gone,

So I seek the proof

Of a lone, empty coffin.

But no more is seeing, believing.

For I don't believe what I see.

The fact is, you were not there.

My enemy is the one

Who makes my blood run.

Someone is trying to make me stir.

Only now, I wish to shield my eyes,

And fall away to die.

Emily, where have you gone?
