As Ants We Toil

(we) were never made to be as perfect as the Trinity, and even (They) are not perfect when (They) are not united. The Dragon belongs to the Moon belongs to the Night, and dissonance between (Them) for lack of the completing Sun is the only time when (we) can understand the thinnest edges of (Their) god-thoughts and (Their) fragmented blinding brightness.

(we) were made to give pain, and so when (They) are vulnerable in this way (we) give (Them) as much as (we) are able. It is not very much because the Trinity feeds on each other's pain as much as (we) do and yet (They) may change so that what used to be painful to (Them) is no longer so. (we) are not (Them.) (we) do not have this ability. (we) do not find it so easy, learning new ways to bring pain. All too often (we) are easily broken and flung aside that (They) may live, before (we) can.

But resentment is not a part of (our) programming. Loyalty is. There is a tiny ravening beast that hooks its claws into (our no my mine alone only thing that is i/we think) spine and has beaten itself senseless and screaming time after time immemorial; it has not yet broken that. It cannot. The strength of will that feeds it is a weak thing, bred out of (our) cell culture when the Makers saw that it was one of the Trinity's most powerful, dangerous flaws.

(we) run. (we) hide. (we) shoot. (we) fight and kill and scream in (our) conjoined manyone-mind. (we) will follow the power that was stolen from (us) and placed into three that deserved it not, and in that way (we) will live on. For (They) are a part of (us) and (we) are a part of (Them), and in that way which is not fair (All) are each other.

That is the Law, and that is why even (we) with our dull perfection know that one day, (we) will lose the Trinity that makes (us) one and apart, and run (our)selves into the neverending broken of black dead madness. Because (we) who no longer have the minds of (Them) were born to that. (we) hurt them but (All) blame the Makers because they Chose and Made (All.)

(we) look forward to it, and breaking free, and being wholly (i) for the first and last time.

A/N: 400 words. Someone had to do a piece for one of the ordinary unnamed URTVs sooner or later. Hope this particular piece wasn't too confusing, but with all those weird pronouns you never know...based entirely on a handful of XenoII's cutscenes, so please forgive any errors. Thanks to those who reviewed the first one, too:)
