Dear Reader,

I was going through all of my old stuff when I found this little gem. It was during my LOTR fanatism phase. I still love LOTR, but not with such a passion that it keeps me awake at night. I wrote this because I had read in the appendices that Galadriel had written to Elrond a lot. So I tried to figure out what Galadriel was thinking by writing a letter myself. If you've read either "Forgotten" or "Fascination" I think you'll kind of understand where I'm coming from. To tell you the truth this letter also came from the one and ONLY Mary Sue fic I wrote. I'm never gonna post it, but I wanted to take a look at the world of LOTR from a different angle. It was also to help me find connections between LOTR and Sailor Moon. So I needed an Avatar to go exploring for me. It worked. I found my connections and it helped me get my "Book Of Days" fic off the ground. I hope you enjoy this.

Disclaimer:

I do not own Lord of the Rings

Thanks to:

The Protectors of the Plot Continuum who gave me the frightening truth about Mary Sues. Thank you for keeping me from making a BAD mistake. I still don't regret my under-the-cover fic to there. But Don't worry. It will NEVER see the light of day again.

Stay safe
Stay healthy

Sincerely,

Starr Bryte

2942 The Third Age.

Change is coming.

I feel it in the water.

I feel it in the Earth.

I taste it on the air.

I hear it in the thunder

Much that once was is no longer, for they who remember it have long since faded into the mists of time...

The mists of forgotten time.

And the knowledge that once brought the power of salvation...

Has long since faded into those self-same mists.

Truth becomes legend.

Legend becomes myth, and myth finally becomes little more than a passing memory.

The stories that should never have been forgotten, were.

The knowledge that should not be forgotten is.

The songs that should not be lost are.

The truth quickly fades from sight and paths once clear as day become dim and forsaken.

The paths that were once trod to truth have long been forgotten.

Change is coming, and with change come questions that burn in the heart and soul and lead into doubt...

And doubt as we know it, can be a poisonous thing, even to the immortal.

Change is coming.

And even the mirror that shows what was, what is and what has not yet come to pass is clouded.

My questions remain unanswered.

Change is coming…

Who will go?

Who will stay?

Who will fight?

Who will flee?

Who will stand?

Who will fail?

The darkness of despair and doubt falls upon the lands once fair.

The light of hope swiftly fades.

And with it's passing come more questions:

Who will rekindle that flame?

Who will come in the time of greatest need to finish the unfinished and complete the uncompleted?

Who will push back the darkness with the guiding light of truth?

Who will make clear the paths long forsaken?

Who will bring myth back into truth once again?

That is the question...

The question that cannot be answered.

Who will answer it?

Change is coming...

And the light that once shone upon the lands most fair, fades into the night...

A night with no end.

The darkest hour is the hour before the dawn.

Will the dawn ever return?

When our time comes, and soon it is fast approaching, who will remember us?

Who will sing our songs?

Who will speak our tongue?

Who will tell our story?

Who will remember when the world forgets?

Who will remember us?

That is the Question...

The Question that cannot be answered.

Who will answer it?

Change is coming.

It is already here.
