Notes: I didn't know the real genders of Buyo nor Kirara, so let's just say Buyo is a dude and Kirara is female. Enjoy!
Kirara would always smell it when she hopped on Kagome's lap. It was faint, but she could smell another being, similar to her, yet different. The scent seemed freshest when Kagome returned from the well, so Kirara would try to smell her as much as she could.
It was another feline creature, yet not youkai, and Kirara always wondered who it was. However, Kirara wished to know this creature, and so she rubbed against Kagome as much as she could to send a message.
Buyo hopped on Kagome's lap when she finally returned from that other world. Buyo rolled his eyes at the idea, thinking it was silly, but his thoughts were disrupted when he spotted the scent of a female cat on Kagome. First he thought that Kagome was cheating on him, but Kagome stroked him as she had always done.
He smelt her lap. It was another cat, yet very different. Buyo wondered what it was. All cats smelt to what he thought "normal", but this scent was an exception. It was "not normal". Buyo wished to send a threatening message back, but when he rubbed against Kagome, he was in a happy lazy mood, and didn't want to bother. Instead, he rubbed against Kagome in a way to send his nicest scent, so he could simply say "hello".
Kirara rushed to Kagome in greeting. She jumped onto her lap when she sat at the side of the well, and smelt her knees. Kirara smelt the feline creature and smiled in her own kitty way. She knew that the cat had gotten her message, and she was glad for the start of a new friendship.
