Sasuke has wings.

They are small now, broken, tattered and torn as the sins of his life pull savagely at the dark bat-like folds, ripping at the delicate tendons and breaking the fragile bones. Once they may have held him, once they may have lifted him up into the bright sky, but now…now he can only stroke them and remember the beautiful things they had once been.

Sakura has wings.

Pretty and shaped just like a butterfly's they are bright and full of colour, almost transparent in the light of the day. They are beautiful, it is true, but are easily broken, frail and flimsy. Up her wings will lift her, fluttering happily along in the warm breeze, but she may only go where the wind will take her, for her wings cannot lift her high enough to escape the path already chosen for her by the winds.

Naruto has wings.

They are large and strong, soft and downy with pure feathers of white left untouched by the hate directed towards him, escaping the pains that mar the rest of his body. His wings are powerful, not weak, not feeble. It is with these wings, that he takes Sasuke and lifts him up into the air, beating his own air current out and allowing Sakura to follow.

They soar over forests and over seas, over fields and over lakes. They whirl and wheel in the air, laughing and smiling as they go. Higher and higher they fly, passing the moon and the stars, for they know their goal, their very destination. Towards the sun they speed, basking in the great warmth and glory as they close in.

It is strange, how no one else can see these wings. They cannot see Sasuke's ragged black shreds of bat-like skin, nor can they see Sakura's delicate yet beautiful butterfly wings or even Naruto's own great feathered structures, sprouting from his shoulder blades. Though their wings go unnoticed, unseen and unknown, they don't care. They know their there, even if no one else does.

And to them, that's all that matters right now.

Fluttering, Flying, Falling

I've done all of those

Because they're easy

But the only times

I've ever really been able to soar

Is every time, when I'm with you

Author's Notes: This was just an idea I got while I was listening to the song 'My World' by SR-71, I don't know why though, because it has nothing to do with any of the lyrics of the song or anything, it just happened. I think it's from the actual music, not the words, meh. –Shrugs- Never aks me where my scary ideas come from, because even I don't know. I don't really like the poem at the end, since I made it up myself (I make most of the poems in 'Sky Blue Eyes' up myself as well, I know they're crap. The ones that aren't mine (the good ones) are the ones at the end of chapter 1, 5 and 6.) None of it really turned out right, and was really, really random and pathetic, but tell me what you all think in you're reviews! –hint hint- .
