Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in Miss Saigon.
Author's note: I have never really written any Miss Saigon fics, so this might not be amazing. This is me just writing about Kim's death in depth, so…enjoy!
The Last Night of the World
This is it. This is the point where I decide my fate and my son's too. It's for Tam. Even as scared as I might be, I Know that it will end blissfully…that Tam will be an American. I glance over at him playing with his little soldier doll. He does not realize what is about to happen.
As I walk over to the window, I can't help but think of Chris. I can't help but realize that I may never see him ever again…but this is how it has to be.
I run for the cushion of which I have hidden my destiny under. I shove my hand under it and feel the cold steel touch my weak hand. I pull it out and gaze at it. How much significance it has …and irony.
Chris now has killed me emotionally and physically. I rush over to the window once more… I see Chris. He is not alone…John is with him. Ellen has stayed at the hotel, I think. I glance one last time at the Sunset…and yet I do not recall any sunset before now. I admire its beauty one last time… This is truly it…This is the last night of the world.
I run behind a dark green curtain of which will hide me… I hear footsteps creeping along the hall outside my room. I take the gun in my hands and aim to my heart. My fingers wrap around the trigger, as I shake erratically.
I hear a door slam open and a loud firing of a gun, then feel a pain slowly sneak in my stomach…bad aim I guess. I then hear my name…
"Kim! Kim!" it's Chris.
Chris is then standing over me, concerned and scared. I look at him, my eyes tear-filled and gloomy. He then comes over and starts to cradle me in his strong, amorous arms. I know he is concerned for why else would he be here.
"What have you? Why? Is it me? Please…" he is crying now.
'Shhh…I'm nothing to cry about."
"Kim…' he brakes down and is weeping. John is standing in the other part of the room, watching this scene occur. Tam, still sitting in his spot like before, but no longer playing with his doll. I see a single tear roll down his cheek. He understands, somehow, that I am leaving him.
'Please, Hold me. I'm so cold." I plea, as I gaze into his eyes, his blue eyes now turning grey with sorrow. I pull all my strength together and kiss him on his soft, affectionate lips. He still is silent. He nothing to say physically…he is saying it with his soul, and his eyes.
" I will always be with you…" I barely whisper now, but it doesn't matter because he understood .I give him one last smile and then, finally…

Chris still sat there with the lifeless Kim, crying out her name as John walks over to Tam and takes his tiny hand and leaves the room.
