Quest
Sent to the World of Darkness,
From the Citadel of Light,
The Fortress of the Crafter,
I seek to face the foe,
And free the enslaved.
I once lived here among them,
Chained to my own heart,
I served a master I could not see.
A man came to me then,
No chain could hold Him,
No sword could wound Him,
No arrow could pierce Him.
He placed his hand on mine,
And He took my chains,
Placing them on Himself.
I was free, but He was not.
My master came then,
And started to mock
Him, my Rescuer.
He just smiled brightly,
And master grew angry.
With sword raised, and anger flaring,
My master struck down my Rescuer,
And attempted to chain me again.
I could not escape, and found myself,
Bound to him once again.
Then, happened the unexpected,
Chains fell off, and Rescuer stood,
Pierced on the side, and bloodied brow,
Eyes of love, and voice of care,
He told me 'Go', and so I left.
Travelling, I found the place,
From which my Rescuer came,
There, I found Him again,
Seated on the throne.
Kneeling, I acknowledged the Enthroned One,
Unworthy, I asked what he sought from me,
Humbled, I gladly accepted my task.
Proud, I truly call Him, Master.
Days to months, and months to years,
I've wandered, helping many,
Seeking to rescue the enslaved,
For He who rescued me.
