Quark watched Ezri. She sat by herself in the corner of the bar, looking uncomfortable.

"She's cute," Bashir said absently from a barstool.

"What?" Quark blustered, rounding on Bashir with his best 'what gold-pressed latinum?' expression on his face, then gave up. "Yes, she is. And she's hurting. Maybe I can help."

"You?" Bashir scoffed. "What could you give her?"

Quark tapped his fingers on the counter. Worf moved back to Ezri's table, nodded stiffly to her, and sat. Ezri made an effort to talk – Quark couldn't hear what she said, exactly – but Worf responded only in grunts. Ezri toyed disconsolately with the barely-touched bowl of gagh in front of her, then went green, a hand clapped to her mouth.

"I know exactly what I can give her," Quark declared. He poured a glass of water from the decorative pitcher behind him, picked up a tiny packet, and made his way to the table.

"Doctor Bashir would like to speak to you at the bar, Commander," Quark said smoothly. Worf cast a glance at his communicator pin, shrugged, and stood. He headed for the bar. Quark wondered for a moment what Bashir would say, then put it out of his mind.

"Are you all right?"

Ezri looked miserable. "I don't seem to have Jadzia's digestive system. How did she eat this stuff!"

"Water," he said, placing the glass on the table. He leaned closer and dropped the packet into her lap. "And antacid."

Her face brightened in gratitude. "Exactly what I need. Thank you."

Quark grinned.

Bashir didn't stand a chance.
