He sleeps so calmly. I can hardly believe that just a few hours ago he was running in the forest, with the full moon high above him in the sky. The only proof he has of the wolf now is the scratch marks on his shoulder. He stirs in his sleep and turns to lie on his side. I take a seat on the bedside and keep looking at him. He's beautiful when he sleeps. I lean down and kiss him softly on his cheekbone. I can feel his lips turn into a smile, but he doesn't wake up. I kiss him once more and then rise and leave the room. He needs his rest and I don't want to bother him. I'll tell him about it later.

It's later in the evening and I'm sitting in the sofa in our living room, staring at the crackling fire in the big hearth. I've always loved staring at the fire, ever since I was a small child. I love how the flames entrance you. I hear the floorboards creek quietly behind me, so I turn my face to see what caused it. Remus. I smile lovingly at him, and he returns the smile. He walks around the sofa and sits down by my side, pulling me into a hug as he does. I snuggled close to him, burying my face in his chest and take a deep breath, taking in his scent.

"You're awake," I say to him slowly. "Did you sleep well?"

"Very well," he replies and his hand strokes over my hair gently.

"Remus?"

"Yes?"

"I'm pregnant," I tell him.

He tightens his grip around me. He laughs quietly and kisses me on my forehead. I smile and a tear escapes my eye.

"That's wonderful, Ginny," he says happily. "When did you find out?"

"This morning, when you were sleeping. I still can't believe it really."

"It's wonderful," Remus repeats. "We should tell your parents, Molly will be thrilled."

"I know," I say and laugh. "We'll visit them tomorrow. Right now I just want to stay like this; with you."

"We have to start fixing the baby's room soon, then."

"Yes," I say in a whisper. I lift my head from his chest and look at him. He's smiling widely and his eyes are glistening like diamonds. "You know I love you, right?"

"Of course I do. And I love you, too, more than anything in this world."
