A/N-I got this idea from Nichole11 and her story called Silent Love. If you care to read it it's really good.
He had first gotten the letter at breakfast. He read the letter and his breath hitched. He read it a thousand times over and set it to fire when it never changed. It said the same message time and time again. Your mother is dead. It scared him that it could all be over that easily. The Dark Lord had no use for her anymore. He stood up and stormed out of the Great Hall to his first class, forcing himself to believe that this wasn't something he should be crying over, that they weren't really all that close to begin with. He knew it wasn't true, not even a little bit.
He sat through potions and transfigurations. Then there was lunch. He sad very little to anyone. Usually replying to peoples questions with a grunt or a glare. He looked around the hall and saw people laughing and smiling and talking to their friends. He wasn't allowed to laugh or smile and friends were just weaknesses. With a sigh, he stood up and headed to care of magical creatures. He sat through a rather boring lesson on flobberworms and how 'dangerous' they wee when provoked. Your mother is dead. He took notes with the rest of the class and tried to pat as much attention as possible. Your mother is dead. By the end of the lesson he was mumbling the sentence under his breath, making people look at him. Draco Malfoy didn't mumble under his breath, he never had circles under his eyes and he never ever had tears in his eyes.
Deciding to skip History of magic he headed up to the astronomy tower. He walked in and saw someone sitting by the window with her eyes closed. He would have left but he already had tears running down his face and he needed someone, anyone, right now. He slid down the wall startling the person sitting by the window. He tried to force back a sob and ended up hiccupping. The person in the window turned around and gasped softly. Draco had is head in his arms that were resting on to of his knees that were pulled up to his chest. She walked over to him and crouched down by him. She only had to pause for a second to hear his broken muttering. She pulled him into a hug and sat with him as he cried his heart out. She said not a word as that would just make things worse. She rubbed his back and stayed with him for the rest of the day and deep into the night.
