The midnight blue lake reflected the
full moon, and the tombstones glimmered in the bright moonlight. It
wasn't often Buffy patrolled on nights like this but she had been
doing many things she didn't do normally. Like talk with Spike after
they had sex. That was scaring her. It was almost as if they were
becoming a couple, and he kept pushing her to tell her friends.
However, the way they would look at her...No, it wasn't worth it.
She'd break it off with Spike before she told them.
Her slender
hand griped Mr. Pointy, the stake Kendra gave her that she had just
pulled out of her jacket pocket. A rustle had made her jump, it had
only been a cat, but Buffy wasn't on her guard, and she didn't like
that. Spike was dominating her thoughts; every time she tried to
shake him out, he pushed back in. Maybe a little stop at his crypt
wouldn't hurt..."No, I said I was busy tonight", Buffy
muttered to herself, "He'll know if that I lied..."Spike
always knew when she was lying.
"Yeah, that's right. I will." Almost on cue, the bleach blonde vampire had slid from the shadows of a crypt. A playful grin was on his face, hands in his duster. "I always do..."
Buffy instantly felt like she was being pulled toward him, like a magnet drew her to him." I really can't...Not tonight..." She whispered. Spike was drawing all the strength out of her.
His eyebrows arched, "Is
that right?" He drew closer to her, his nostrils flared slightly
as her scent entered them.
He wrapped a muscular arm around her
waist, and pulled her close. "I think you're wrong...," he
breathed into her neck.
Buffy gasped, about to give herself to him. Then, Dawn flashed though her mind. Dawn expected Buffy for a chick flick night. Grinning, she pushed Spike away. "No, I'm right."
Spike called after her, "You'll be back. You know you will."
"Yeah, I will. But not tonight."
Buffy retorted.
Stake in hand, she walked away for the first time.
