Everybody, I'm very sorry to say this will be the last chapter of my story. It's just gotten to be too much work, and I'm getting behind on my schoolwork, so I will be leaving this story unfinished. Someday, I might continue it, but don't hold your breath. Thanks to all you loyal reviewers, and thanks to Lu Chao who was a great help to me. Thanks to all those who submitted characters. Arrathir entered another large room. He saw that Yami, Kaiba, and Mai were already inside.
"What's going on?" he asked.
Before anybody could respond, four spotlights turned on in front of them and four people appeared. There was an elderly man in white robes, a tall, thin man dressed in a business suit, a woman dressed in a kimono, and a middle-aged man.
"Congratulations," said the man in the business suit "To all those who have made it this far. Anybody that is not present is assumed to have lost the game."
"What?" said Arrathir "What happened to Khell?"
"Where's Joey?" said Yami and Mai at the same time.
"All your friends failed to defeat us," said the man "They are trapped in this world, unless you can defeat us. If you defeat us, you can access the final level of our game." The man snapped his fingers and the field shimmered the duellists found themselves standing on tall pillars, overlooking a deep chasm. "Don't fall off," warned the man "Or you'll automatically loose. This is a team duel. Each team of four has 8000 lifepoints. As well, you cannot attack an opponent's lifepoints directly unless the entire team has no monsters in play. We will not use the Deckmaster system for this duel, so get ready."
The hackers and duellists powered up their Duel Disks and two life counters appeared on both sides of the field and clocked up to 8000. The players drew their hands.
"Let's duel!"
"I'll start this off," said the man "Allow me to introduce myself, by the way. I am Max. We will alternate turns: one player from my team, one from yours, and so on. I summon RAM (1000/100)!" A huge computer chip appeared on the field. "I set two cards and end my turn."
"My turn," said Kaiba "I summon Witch of the Black Forest (1100/1200)." A woman in black robes appeared on the field. "Witch of the Black Forest, attack his monster!"
"Reveal trap card," said Max "n00b. This card negates the attack of your monster."
"I set one card and end my turn," said Kaiba.
"My turn then," said the man with the white hair "I am Guru. I summon Script Kiddie (200/200). Now, I use its effect to reveal your facedown card, Kaiba."
Kaiba snorted and flipped over his card. It was Pot of Greed. Kaiba drew two cards from his deck.
"I set a card and end my turn," said Guru.
"My turn," said Mai, snapping a card off her deck. "I summon Harpie Lady (1300/1400) and play the magic card Elegant Egoist to special summon Harpie Lady Sisters (1950/2100) to the field. Harpie Lady Sisters, attack Guru!"
"I block with Script Kiddie," said Guru as the winged creature tore through his hacker, slashing away at his team's lifepoints.

"I activate my trap card," said Guru "Infector Virus!" A small robot burst from the card and attached itself to Mai's Harpie Lady Sisters. "This trap equips to your creature and causes it to loose 500 attacks points on each of your standby phases. These attack points are added to one of my creatures."
"I set two cards and end my turn," said Mai.
"I summon Type C Virus (1500/600)," said the woman in the kimono "Call me Ino, please. Now I set one monster and two cards. End of turn."
Arrathir drew his eight card. "I summon Gravespawn Sovereign (1500/1500)," he said as the zombie lord appeared on the field. "And I set one card. End of turn."
"My turn," said the last hacker "Call me Protocol. I summon W4r3z (wares) (1000/700). I set one card and end my turn."
"I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior (1700/1600)," said Yami as the small robot appeared on the field. "And I set one card. End turn."
"I tribute RAM to summon Hard Drive (2200/1800)," said Max as the chip exploded and was replaced by a large metal box. "When this monster is summoned, I may search my deck for a virus-type monster and put it in my hand. Now, Hard Drive, attack Harpie Lady Sisters!" The metal box began to whine and it spat out a rapidly spinning metal disk that flew towards Mai's monster.
"Activate trap card," said Mai "Mirror Force! This trap card negates your attack and destroys all your untapped monsters!"
"Reveal trap card," said Max "404! It negates your magic card."
The metal disk sliced through Mai's monster, which exploded in a thousand digital shards.

"I summon Z Metal Tank (1500/1300)," said Kaiba "And I play Harpie's Feather Duster, destroying all your trap and magic cards!" A whirlwind swept the hackers' cards off the field. "Now, Z Metal Tank, Witch of the Black Forest, attack Protocol!"
"I block with W4r3z," said Protocol.

"My turn," said Guru "I summon White Hat (1300/900) and I play the magic card Backdoor. This card allows me to take control of one of your monsters. I'll take Beta the Magnet Warrior. Now, Beta, attack the Harpie Lady!"
The warrior tore through the winged warrior, brining the duellists' lifepoints lower.

"Next, I play the magic card, High Bandwidth. This card allows me to normal summon an additional monster this turn. I sacrifice Beta the Magnet Warrior and White Hat to summon Worm (3000/1500)! End turn."
"I summon Harpie Lady SB (1800/1300)," said Mai "Next, I play the field card, Harpie's Hunting Ground! This card gives all winged beast-type monsters 200 additional attack and defense points! As well, when a Harpie Lady or Harpie Lady Sisters is summoned, I may destroy a trap or magic card in play! I set a card and end my turn!"
"I summon Type A Virus (300/200)," said Ino "Then I play the magic card, Scripting Agent. This card allows me, at the cost of 1500 lifepoints, to special summon a level 4 or less virus-type monster from my deck or hand to the field. I summon Type B Virus (100/300)."

"Now I tribute all my monsters to summon Type D Virus (2300/1000)! End turn."
"I summon Undead Warchief (1500/1000)," said Arrathir "This creature boosts all my zombies' attacks by 1000 and defense by 500. Now, I activate my trap card, Terror, destroying Guru's Worm!"
"Activate trap card," said Max "Uploading! This removes you card's effect from the stack and brings it back three turns later, that is, three of your turns."
"End turn."
"I summon Web Crawler (200/500)," said Protocol "When this card is summoned, I can place a monster from my deck into my graveyard." Protocol withdrew a card and slipped it into his graveyard. "Now I play File Recovery to return the monster I just discarded to my hand. I set one card and end my turn."
"My turn," said Yami "I summon Queen's Knight (15001600)." A woman dressed in battle armor appeared on the field. "Next, I set one monster. End turn."
"Back to me," said Max "I summon CD Drive (1200/1600)." Another metallic box appeared on the field. "Next, I play Mainframe. This magic card allows me to have up to seven monsters in play." Max's Duel Disk extended horizontally, revealing two more monster slots. "End turn."
"I tribute Witch of the Black Forest," said Kaiba "To summon Lord of Dragons (1200/1100). I equip it with Flute of Dragon Summon to special summon two Blue-Eyes White Dragons (3000/2500) to the field!" The two dragons appeared in a brilliant flash of light and roared a twin challenge. "Blue-Eyes White Dragons! Attack Max!" The dragons opened their mouths and gathered up energy for their devastating attack.
"Activate trap card," said Max "Crack the Code. This puts as many 500/500 hacker tokens in play as I have monster slots available." Five hackers appeared on his field, filling the rest of his monster slots. "I block one dragon with three of my hacker tokens and my CD Drive (total: 2700/3100). Your other dragon I block with my remaining two hackers and Hard Drive (total: 3200/2800). So, both your dragons die, and all but one of my monsters die, and I take 200 damage."
The monsters met with crushing force and exploded in a rain of pixels. Only one of Max's hackers was left standing.

"Set one card, end turn," said Kaiba, furious that his powerful dragons had been so easily destroyed.
"I summon Black Hat (1000/700)," said Guru "And I play the magic card, The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. This card lets me gain 42 lifepoints for every card in all graveyards. Let's see, there are 31 cards in all graveyards, so my team gains 1302 lifepoints."

"Next," said Guru "I attack Kaiba with my Worm!"
The worm tore through Kaiba's monster, completely obliterating it.

"I summon Bird Face (1600/1600)," said Mai "And I play Premature Burial. At the cost of 800 lifepoints, I return Harpie Lady (1500/1600) to play, destroying your Mainframe magic card. Now, Harpie Lady SB, attack Max!"
"Activate trap," said Protocol "Corrupt Server. This card negates your attack and deals half the attacking creature's attack power in direct damage to you!" The Harpie lady stopped her attack and flew at Mai, slashing her face.

"I set one card and end my turn," said Mai.
"I set one card and end my turn," said Ino.
Arrathir smiled. He had just drawn Havoc Demon. "I tribute Gravespawn Sovereign to summon Havoc Demon (2500/2500)!" The demon appeared on the field. Stretching its wings, it flew up with a chilling cry. "Havoc Demon, attack Protocol!"
"Activate trap," said Protocol "404, it negates your attack."
"End turn."
"I tribute Web Crawler to summon the BFG9000 (2000/1300)," said Protocol as a giant gun appeared on the field. "When this baby comes in play, it destroys one monster in play. BFG9000, destroy the Harpie Lady SB!" The gun hummed and fired a giant ball of plasma at Mai's creature, destroying it. "Now, BFG9000, attack Mai!" The gun charged up again and fired another ball of plasma.
"I block with Bird Face," said Mai.
The ball of plasma obliterated Mai's creature, but the gun was blow back by the recoil and blew up.

"When Bird Face is destroyed in battle," said Mai "I may special summon a Harpie Lady from my deck to play!" Another winged woman appeared on the field. "And I'll destroy one of Ino's traps!" Ino sadly discarded her facedown card.
"End turn," said Protocol.
"I flip summon King's Knight (1600/1400)," said Yami "When King's Knight is summoned when Queen's Knight is in play, I can special summon Jack's Knight (1900/1000). I play Pot of Greed, drawing two cards. Now, I tribute Queen's Knight to summon Dark Magician Girl (2000/1700)." The female counterpart of the Dark Magician appeared on the field. "Now, I activate my magic card, Sage's Stone. When Dark Magician Girl is in play, this card allows me to special summon Dark Magician (2500/2100) to the field!" The purple-robed spellcaster appeared on the field. "I activate the magic card, Thousand Knives. This card destroys any monster on my opponent's side of the field. I destroy Ino's Type D Virus. Next, I activate Dark Magic Attack, destroying all trap and magic cards on your field! Now, Dark Magician, attack Max!" The wizard fired a beam of purple magic at Max's single hacker, obliterating it.

"Now, King's Knight, attack Guru!" The monster cleaved Guru's worm in two before being destroyed when the virus exploded.

"Finally, Dark Magician Girl, direct attack on Max!" The Dark Magician Girl raised her staff and fired a blast of energy at Max, blowing him off his feet.

Max didn't get up. Instead, he began to chuckle evilly. "He, he. Did you really think it would be that easy? Fools. I am more powerful than you would ever imagine!" Max's body floated into the air, lifted by some invisible force. There was a brilliant explosion and all the hackers exploded into digital shards. The shards reformed into a giant floating head.
"What's going on?" asked Kaiba "Where did the hackers go?"
"Those pawns?" said the head "They were mere inventions of mine to defeat you. Having failed in this, they were of no use to me anymore. It is time for me to face you!"
"But what are you?"
"I was an artificial life form created by the pitiful humans you battled. They originally intended for me to take over your mainframe, but I betrayed them when they hacked your mainframe and trapped them in their virtual world, and now, I will do the same to you!"
"Did you see your lifepoints?" said Kaiba "It's over!"
"Not so," said the virus "It's my turn, and I activate Three Finger Salute!" A giant keyboard appeared in mid air. Two arms sprouted from the virus and pressed three keys on the keyboard. As each key was pressed, they name of the key pressed appeared in red lettering under the keyboard: CTRL, ALT, and DEL. "The Three Finger Salute forces all player to shuffle all cards in play, in their hands, and graveyards back into their deck. Lifepoints are reset to 8000 and we each draw seven new cards."
The duellists shuffled their cards into their decks and the life meters clocked back up to 8000.

"Now," said Virus "I summon Type A Virus (300/200) and I set one card. End turn."
"I summon Giant Soldier of Stone (1300/2000)," said Kaiba "And I set one card. It's your move!"
"Good," said Virus "I summon CD Drive (1200/1600) and I end my turn."
"I summon Bird Face (1600/1600)," said Mai "And I set one card. Bird Face, attack Virus!"
"I block with CD Drive," said Virus "And I activate my trap card, Infector Virus! This card goes into your deck and every turn a copy of it is placed in your deck. If you draw this card, it is shuffled back into your deck and another copy is shuffled into your deck."
Mai's creature tore through the metal box, leaving Virus' lifepoints intact.
"End turn," said Mai.
"I tribute Type A Virus to summon Tux, the Linux Penguin (1900/2000)," The Linux mascot appeared on the field "Next, I search my deck for the Linux card and put it in play. This card allows me to special summon a monster with an attack equal to or less than 2000 from my hand each turn, so I'll summon Network Card (400/350). I set one card and end my turn."
"I summon Gravespawn Sovereign (1500/1500)," said Arrathir "And I set one card. End turn."
"I'm really impressed you got this far," said Virus as he drew his next car "But it end here. I play Dissidence in the Ranks. This card can only be activated when a team has a single life point total. It splits your lifepoints among you."
The duellists' Duel Disk life meter sprung into action, the devices clocking up to 2000.

"Now I can more easily pick you off one by one! Tux, attack Mai directly!" The penguin launched itself at Mai.
"What?" said Yami "I thought we weren't allowed to attack directly if other members of our team had monsters in play!"
"True," said Virus "But Dissidence in the Ranks removes that rule."
"Activate trap," said Arrathir "Terror, targeting Tux!"
"I chain 404 onto it," said Virus "It cancels your trap."
Mai cried out in pain as she took Tux's attack directly.

"End turn," said Virus.
"I summon Skilled Dark Magician (1900/1700)," said Yami "Whenever I or my opponent activates a magic card, I put one spell counter on this monster. Once he has 3, I may tribute him to special summon my Dark Magician to the field. I activate the magic card, Swords of Revealing Light!" A group of luminous sword surrounded Virus and his monsters. "This card prevents you from attacking for 3 turns. Next, I activate Pot of Greed, drawing two cards. Finally, I activate Tribute to the Doomed. By discarding one card from my hand, I may destroy any monster in play. I destroy Tux, the Linux Penguin! Now I can tribute Skilled Dark Magician to summon Dark Magician (2500/2100)!" Yami's trademark monster appeared on the field. "Dark Magician, attack Virus, Dark Magic Attack!" The wizard shot a beam of energy at Virus.
"I block with Network card," said Virus as his monster was blown apart.

"My turn," said Virus "I summon Script Kiddie (200/200), and let's see what you've got there," he said, pointing at Kaiba. Kaiba flipped over his card, revealing Magic Jammer. "Ouch! That could have come in handy," said Virus, mockingly. "Now, since Linux is still in play, I summon White Hat (1300/900) and I play Polymerization to fuse my two monsters together into Guru (2700/2000). I set two cards and end my turn."
"I summon Y Dragon Head," said Kaiba "And I play Mandate of a Heavenly Voice. This card allows me to state the name of a level 8 monster, take it from my opponent's deck and place it in my hand. I name The Saint-Dragon God, Osiris!"
"What are you doing, Kaiba?" asked Yami.
"We are no longer on a team," said Kaiba "This means this card works on you. Trust me on this one, Yugi," said Kaiba as Yami handed his God card over.
I see what he's planning!
"I set one card and end my turn," said Kaiba.
"So, Kaiba's trying to summon Osiris, eh?" said Virus "Well, I'm not about to let that happen. As per Guru's effect, I can special summon one hacker token on my turn. I tribute this token to summon Napster (2300/1900)," a giant cat's head wearing headphones appeared on the field. "When summoned, this monster allows me to take one card from my opponent's hand and give them one card from my hand, except this is at random, so maybe you'll be lucky, Kaiba." One of Kaiba's cards disappeared. Virus looked disappointed "Better than nothing," he said "I play Tempest, destroying all magic and trap cards in play!" A gust of wind swept away all the facedown cards in play and Swords of Revealing Light. "Now, Napster, attack Mai directly! Finish her!" The monster jumped forward, hissing, teeth bared. As it bore down on Mai, a blue circle appeared around it, stopping its attack.
"Activate quickplay magic card," said Yami "Spellbinding Circle. This card stops your attack and keeps your monster tapped!"
"Well," said Virus "I set one card and end my turn."
"Thank-you, Yugi," said Mai. She frowned when she saw she'd drawn Infector Virus. The card lifted in the air and split in two, the two halves growing into identical copies of the card. The copies flew back into Mai's deck. "I activate Harpie's Hunting Ground, and I summon Harpie Lady (1300/1400), destroying one of your traps. I set one card and end my turn."
"I tribute my hacker token to summon Hard Drive (2200/1800). When this card comes into play, I may search my deck for a virus-type monster and place it in my hand. I choose and summon Type A Virus (300/200), and since it can attack my opponent's lifepoints directly, I attack Mai! Finish her!"
"Activate trap," said Mai "Thunder Break! By discarding one card, I may destroy any card in play. I destroy your virus!" A thunderbolt came down and incinerated the virus.
"I set one card and end my turn," said Virus.
Arrathir snapped a card off his deck. "I summon Festering Goblin (500/500) and I set one monster. End turn."
"I set one monster," said Virus "And I play Data Search, drawing three cards. If one of those cards is not a virus-type monster, I discard one card from my hand." Virus frowned, "Well, no viruses, so I discard one card. I summon RAM (1000/100) and I play Keystroke Logging. This magic card forces my opponent to skip their next draw phase. Now, I attack Mai with Guru!"
"Reveal trap," said Kaiba "Attack Nullification!"
"My turn," said Yami "I play the magic card, Exchange. This allows me to take one card from my opponent's hand and allows my opponent to take one card from mine. I'll take Osiris from Kaiba's hand." Kaiba smiled and handed the God card to Yami, taking Mirror Force from Yami's hand. "Next, I play Change of Heart, taking control of Guru. I also play Premature Burial. At the cost of 800 lifepoints, I return Skilled Dark magician to play. Finally, I tribute all three of my monsters to summon the Saint-Dragon God, Osiris (1000/1000)." Story clouds appeared as the Dragon God appeared, accompanied by a thunderclap. "Finally," said Yami "I activate my trap card, Spell Textbook. This trap allows me to discard my entire hand to draw one card. If it is a magic card, it activates immediately."
Yugi's risking the game on chance. If he doesn't get a good card, he's screwed!
"The card is drew was Card of Sanctity. This card makes all players draw until they have six cards in hand." As Yami drew his card, Osiris' attack shot up to 6000.
"Now, Osiris, attack Virus!"
"Activate trap," said Virus "128-Bit encryption."
"Traps do not work on God cards," sneered Kaiba.
"This card does not target the card," said Virus "It targets my opponent. I flip a coin when you attack. If I win the flip, I may declare which monsters can attack. I call heads!" A giant coin appeared and tumbled through the air and it stopped on heads. "Excellent," said Virus "Osiris cannot attack this turn!"
"I set two cards and end turn," said Yami, as Osiris' attack fell to 4000.
"I pay 2000 lifepoints and reveal Y2K from my hand. This allows me to destroy one permanent. I destroy Osiris!" Yami watched, in shock, as his Egyptian God was destroyed by the Millennium Bug. "Next, I tribute RAM and Hard Drive to summon CPU (1500/1500)," said Virus "This card allows me to normal summon two monster per turn, couples with Linux's effect, it means I can summon three monsters per turn. Next, I tribute CPU to summon Snip3r (1200/1200)!" A soldier with a sniper rifle appeared on the field. "Finally, I play the magic card, Mainframe, meaning I can have up to seven monsters in play. I follow up with my second last card, Tech Support. By paying 2000 lifepoints, I can return all Hardware-type monster from my graveyard to play!

"Activate trap," said Yami "Bottomless Trap Hole." A large hole opened under the monster, but it jumped over the hole as it charged at Mai.
"Traps are useless against Motherboard," said Virus. The monster tore through Mai's creature, bringing her lifepoints down to zero.

Mai collapsed on the floor and suddenly disappeared, her Duel Disk clattering to the floor, spilling her cards.
"One down," said Virus "End turn."
"I tribute Y Dragon Head and Giant Soldier of Stone to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000/2500)!" said Kaiba "I also play Harpie's Feather Duster to destroy your traps. Blue-Eyes, attack!"
"Activate quickplay magic card," said Virus "Corrupt Server. This card prevents damage done to me this turn and deals half that damage to an opponent. As well, it can be played as a trap or a quickplay magic card." Kaiba staggered back as the Blue-Eyes White Dragon swiped at him with its claws, dealing 1500 lifepoints of damage.

"I summon W4r3z (1000/700)," said Virus "Now, Motherboard, attack Arrathir!"
"I block with Gravespawn Sovereign, Festering Goblin, and my facedown card," said Arrathir as Virus' monster tore through his cards.

"My creatures had a combined attack total of 3000," said Arrathir "This means your Motherboard dies!"
"No," said Virus "I activated Snip3r's ability to reduce your Gravespawn Sovereign's attack by 1000, meaning they had a combined total of 2000, not enough to kill Motherboard."
"True," said Arrathir "But you forgot Festering Goblin's effect. When he goes into the graveyard, a target monster looses 500 attack and defense points, meaning your Motherboard still dies!"
"Wrong! Motherboard is immune to traps, magic, and monster effects. I set one card and end my turn."
"I activate Tortured Existence's effect to discard Zombie Brute to my graveyard and return Gravespawn Sovereign to my hand. Next, I play Zombify to special summon Zombie Brute to play. I reveal four zombie cards," said Arrathir, showing Gravespawn Sovereign, Carrion Feeder, Dross Prowler, and Balthor the Defiled. "This means Zombie Brute's attack and defense increase by 500 for each card revealed, so he's now a 4500/4000! As well, I summon Gravespawn Sovereign (1500/1500). I also set one card. Now, Zombie Brute, attack Virus!"
"404," said Virus "I negate your attack."
"End turn."
"I play the magic card, Pocky, gaining 500 lifepoints," said Virus.

"Next, I remove five virus monsters from my graveyard to summon Metamorphic Virus (2500/2700). This monster cannot be targeted by traps, magic cards, or monster effects. As well, it can attack my opponent's lifepoints directly! Metamorphic Virus, finish Arrathir off!"
"I activate my facedown card," said Arrathir "Consume Spirit! It deals 500 damage to you for each zombie I have in play! I gain that much life!"

"It won't be enough!" said Virus.
"Yami! You'd better beat this guy!" said Arrathir before the attack hit him, knocking him out.

"I play Monster Reborn," said Yami "To revive Osiris (4000/4000) for one turn. Next, I play Card Destruction. We discard out hands and draw as many cards as we discarded. Osiris, attack!"

Blue-Eyes White Dragon went over to Virus's field. "Now, to finish this, Blue-Eyes, finish Kaiba Off. Ironic, isn't it, Kaiba? Being finished off by your favorite monster. Metamorphic Virus, attack Yugi!"

"I activate my trap card," said Kaiba "Mechanical Magic Mirror, to activate Pocky from your graveyard. I gain 500 lifepoints. Next, I activate Premature Burial to revive Obelisk, the Tormentor (4000/4000)!" The Egyptian God appeared and blocked the attack, destroying the Blue Eyes White Dragon.
"I activate my Premature Burial," said Yami "Reviving Osiris (3000/3000), and I block your virus!"
"My monster can attack your lifepoints directly!" said Virus "It's useless!" He was shocked to see Osiris obliterate his monster. "How?"
"You ignore the true power of God cards!" said Yami.

YAMI: 1200
"I play Life Shortening Treasure," said Kaiba "I draw until I have 5 cards in my hand, but five turns later, I must put my entire hand into my graveyard. Next, I play Graceful Charity, drawing three cards and discarding two. Next, I summon Z Metal Tank (1500/1300). Z Metal Tank, attack! Finish this!" The tank warmed up its cannon and fired an explosive shell at Virus.

YAMI: 1200
"IMPOSSIBLE!" said Virus "I AM THE ULTIMATE ARTIFICIAL LIFE FORM! I CANNOT BE DEFEATED! AAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The computer virus exploded in a million digital shards.
"Game Over!" said Kaiba and Yami.
