Being an independant woman isn't easy.
It means not being stepped on, it means never being ignored, it means never being last.
It means fighting.
She has definitely been fighting her entire life.
Most women could, given a reason, rise above the men that rule their lives, but most aren't given a reason. The other part just aren't intelligent enough or brave enough to challenge the stupid triditions and easy lives laid down for them by their men.
That is what it takes.
She doesn't want to be controlled.
Men clutch, they grab, they desire, they own.
It means the strength to stand alone without crutches.
She won't be owned.
It means the wisdom to know what a woman would do and what a man would do, and how to choose which is best.
She wonders when it comes down to him.
It means the wisdom to know when to back down in a fight.
She's not sure that she can let go of her fierceness right now.
Can she believe that not all men are out to get her?
When he's asking.
It means the strength to beat men at their own game, and not sink to their levels.
It means the ability to control men so that they don't control you.
It means the withholding of the final chasity.
He's asking.
And she remembers the final rule.
It means being true to yourself, always, no matter what.
She says yes,
And she closes her eyes,
And then opens them to see him
Because this is the first man since she hardened herself
He deserves this.
He fufills her final rule,
She needs him.
She doesn't know how he did it, and doesn't need to know, really.
He is her and to be with him is everything.
In the end,
Always be true to yourself.
Even if it means giving up all the other rules for a few moments of ecstasy in the arms of a man
