Disclaimer: Tolkien owns all the rights to the Lord of the Rings (the book anyway, I don't know about the film).
Author notes: Drabble written for hpsauce (sorry, it's probably not as slashy as you'd like. I've always had trouble with hobbitslash.)
Pairing: Sam/Frodo
Warnings: Implied slash. And angst. About the aforementioned implied slash.
Summary: Sometimes duty must overcome love.

As a good Hobbit should
It's good to be home again, days spent working in the garden and drinking in the Green Dragon. I love my children, and I know Mister Frodo does too, yet it feels as if something is wrong.
On the quest, no-one noticed if we were a little closer than was normal. Perhaps no-one really cared. They were days filled with pain and horror, but Mister Frodo was always there at the end. We could be together then.
We survived. We came back. And I married Rosie as a good Hobbit should. We aren't that way now.
Mister Frodo and Me.
