Chapter 1

(What's going on?) A young man looked around. All he could s was never-ending darkness. (Where am I?) He ran his hand through his spiky red hair. (Why does this place feel familiar?) He looked behind him and noticed three beings. His eyes widened when he saw the shortest one.

It was a hedgehog. Red, wearing a brown vest, green shoes, and baggy blue jeans. (How? That's…me…but how! I've never been hear before!) He looked at the other two.

One was shadowed in darkness. (I sense a great evil from him) thought the man. The last being was a girl. She had black hair and sky blue eyes. (Those eyes…..They're….like Erin's….)Although he couldn't tell why, he felt weird when he saw her. He snapped out of his trance when he heard the girl say "This is for all the pain you have caused!" He ran towards the two yelling "No! You don't stand a chance!"

"AH!" Flare yelled as he shot up. He looked around the empty field. Putting his hand on his forehead, he sighed. "That dream again….What does it mean?" He stood up and noticed the sun was rising. "I better head for the closest town. I may be able to find something there." He picked all his possessions up and began following the path to the Gerudo Fortress.
Gene sat on the top of a building, watching the Gerudos below. "Not much of a reason to stay here much longer" He jumped down. He looked towards the entrance and saw two guards pointing their spears at a young traveler. "Not again"

He ran up and decided to listen to them first. "I'm weaponless….really!" said the traveler. "What's that then?" asked the first guard, pointing at the man's sword. He began drawing the sword but it stopped halfway. "It's broken. I'm searching for someone who can fix it." Gene decided now he should intervene.

He stepped out and walked up to the three. "I don't think this traveler means any harm. Let him through." said Gene. Before either of the guards could say anything, the traveler was climbing the gate to the haunted wasteland.

"Hey!" Gene yelled as he ran up to the gate. "Are you stupid! That place is dangerous!" The traveler jumped down the other side. "I sense a great evil from there. I must check it out." The traveler said as he ran through the desert. "God! Let me through!" he yelled. He waited till the gate was a few feet above him before chasing the man.

Flare stopped as he ran into the Desert Colossus. "Here. A gateway must be here" He started walking but stopped when he heard a "Wait!" He turned to see the man from the fortress. "What are you doing here?" asked Flare, surprised. "You said a great evil, right?" asked the man. "Yes…" answered Flare. "Then let me help you! My name is Gene Hayno. And you are?" said Gene. Flare was silent for a moment but answered "Flare Striker" Gene stared. "Odd," he said, "I knew someone by that name 5 years ago." "No time to think about that! Let's go!" said Flare as he noticed a gateway of pure darkness. Flare jumped in without a moment's hesitation, leaving a confused Gene staring at what seemed like nothing.
