Chapter 10: Home Again
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"I really don't think going back to your place is the safest place to hide," Kai said skeptically. Him and Amara were walking back to the Hiwatari Mansion to talk with Lady Catherine about leaving Russia. Jules had stayed at her place and Tala chose to walk home.
"We're not going to my place," Amara replied. "We're just landing at the same airport that you would go to if we were going to my house and we have a few things to pick up at my house."
"Oh really? And what exactly would that be?" Kai eyed her curiously.
"The Lucky Sevens and the Bladebreakers." Amara waited for a response but when none came she knew she would have to pry his feelings out of him. "You don't seem to excited about that. I know you want me all to yourself…" Amara let the joking fall when she realized Kai was not smiling with her.
"I don't know if I want to face them yet," Kai answered honestly. "Kiki's gonna try to kill me I know it."
"Probably but I'll save you," Amara leaned over and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "They want to see you. They missed you too." Amara told him seriously. Kai nodded but said nothing.
They continued the rest of their walk in silence. Kai punched the code to open the gates and they journeyed up the driveway together. Amara stopped halfway up the driveway pulling Kai to a stop as well since she was holding tightly onto his hand.
Kai turned and faced her. His silver eyes raked over her expression. "You okay?" His gray blue eye browns shot up in question.
Her eyes were staring vacantly at the house over Kai's shoulder. "I think I should stay out here." She replied, sounding very far away.
"You don't want to run into my grandfather?" Amara snapped her attention back to Kai and nodded. "Alright. You can wander around the grounds if you like. Just don't go too far." Kai kissed her forehead. "I want to be able to find you again."
"Don't be long," Amara said biting her lip nervously, still unwilling to let go of his hand.
"He's probably not even home okay?" Amara nodded, her eyes focused on the mansion, fearing that Voltaire was watching them. She shuddered, suddenly feeling frozen under her thick jacket and two shirts. Kai pulled her to him wrapping his arms around her waist. He lifted up one hand and brushed a few red strands out of her face. Her long red hair was down instead of up in its usual buns. He looked into her eyes and realized that they were now staring at his lips. He smirked and lowered them willingly to hers. She kissed him hungrily. Her fingers dived into his hair making it even more disheveled then it already was.
"Don't kiss me as if you're never going to see me again," Kai said almost warningly. "I'll be right back." He kissed her quickly one more time and then turned away to walk to the house alone.

Lady Catherine watched the couple from her spot by the rose bushes. She watched her great grandson leave his red head companion and reluctantly walk to the house. The girl had an expression of utter abandonment, which made Lady Catherine's heart break. She knew this had to be the girl that Voltaire was trying to keep Kai away from.
The girl left her spot on the driveway and began to walk aimlessly in the direction of where Lady Catherine was trimming the rose bushes. Convinced the young girl hadn't seen her Lady Catherine spoke up. "You and young master Kai seem awfully close."
Amara jumped in surprise. She hadn't seen the elderly lady until she spoke. Amara could feel her cheeks heating up. She only nodded in response.
"But you are not the fiancé?"
"No," Amara shook her head.
"But you should be." Amara looked up. The elderly lady was smiling at her. She had the same silver eyes as Kai. "You obviously adore him."
Amara nodded. A small smile played on her lips. "I love him." The confession was more to herself then to the lady.
"Have you told him that?"
"No." Amara replied sheepishly.
"Well you should." Amara fiddled nervously with her fingers. She had never really said that she loved Kai out loud before. It would take a lot of guts to tell him. "Not even Voltaire can stop true love." Amara's eyes shot up. Lady Catherine smiled at her.
"True love?" Amara questioned. How could this lady know anything about her and Kai's relationship?
Lady Catherine nodded. Amara waited for more of an answer but the older lady's eyes weren't focused on her anymore. "Kai, my dear, you shouldn't leave such a lovely girl all alone." Amara turned her head to see Kai walking over to them.
"I'm sorry Lady Catherine," he kissed his great grandmother in greeting. Amara's mouth fell open. She had no idea that she had been talking to Kai's great grandmother the whole time. "It won't happen again I promise." Kai stood beside Amara and placed one arm around her waist. "I should have known you would be outside."
"Was there something you needed to talk to me about?"
"Yes, I want to leave as soon as I can," Kai replied.
Lady Catherine nodded. "Of course dear, I'll arrange anything you want. Voltaire doesn't have to know a thing."
"Thank you." Kai kissed her cheek again.
"Now where is it that you will be going?" Kai nudged Amara to answer the question since she hadn't even told him where they would be going.
"Uh…" She found it a lot harder to speak now that she found out she had been talking to Lady Catherine the lady who was the cause of Kai marrying Jules. "We need to get to the Vancouver airport. I can take care of the rest from there."
"Done," Lady Catherine smiled at them. "But I didn't catch your name my dear."
"Amara," she answered. As much as Amara wanted to hate her for causing Kai to marry someone else, she had a feeling that Lady Catherine didn't want to tear her and Kai apart.
"It was lovely chatting with you Amara and we will have to do it again sometime." Amara smiled and nodded. "I'll arrange it for you to leave tomorrow."

"Do they even know we're coming?" Jules whispered to Amara. They had just reached Amara's mansion after a full day of traveling. It was about three o'clock in the morning and the house was completely silent.
"Nope, it's a surprise," Amara smirked, unlocking the front door.
"I hope we don't wake them up," Tala yawned. "I just want to get to bed." The four of them stumbled into the entryway with all their luggage.
"Come on I'll find you guys some rooms," Amara found the staircase easily by the moonlight shining through the large glass windows above the front door. Amara went down the right hallway where all the guestrooms were and past the first few doors where she had set up her other friends only days before.
"This room should be empty. Tala and Kai you can sleep in this one," Amara pushed open the heavy oak door. She felt around for the light switch and flicked it on.
"Who's there?" Tyson shrieked sitting up in one of the twin beds.
"Shit," Amara hissed under her breath.
"Don't worry. He's still asleep," Kai chuckled. Amara noticed the glazed look in Tyson's eyes and realized Kai was right.
"It's okay Tyson it's just me. Go back to sleep," Amara answered him in a calm voice. Tyson smiled then flopped back down hard onto his pillow. "Whew that was a close one."
"Who's me?" Tyson was back up staring at the four of them with unseeing eyes.
"Amara. Now go back to sleep," Amara sighed.
"Oh okay." His head smacked the pillow again.
"Well I guess only one of us can sleep in here," Tala shrugged.
"I will since if Tyson wakes up he won't freak because he knows me," Kai offered.
"Everyone's gonna be so happy to see you," Tyson cooed in his sleep. "They missed you two so much." He yawned and then his breathing changed to the steady rhythm of a person who was truly out of it.
"He needs to stop eating meals in the middle of the night," Amara sighed and moved Tyson's covers back over his body.
"How do you know he was eating?" Jules asked standing in the doorway behind Tala.
"Well for one there's a half eaten sandwich on the nightstand," Amara replied motioning to the plate. "And we've had a run in before." Jules nodded. "Well we should get you two rooms too." Amara stood up and walked back to the door. Jules and Tala exited back to the hallway.
"Goodnight," Kai said pulling her to him and kissing her.
"Night," Amara smiled and left the room.

"How dare you show your face around here," Kiki's high-pitched shriek brought Kai out of his dreamy state.
"What the…" Kai opened his eyes to see Kiki standing over him with kill in her eyes.
"Kiki what are you screaming about?" Tyson who was still sleeping in the other bed beside Kai asked just awaking up himself.
"Kai decided to show up now," Kiki growled.
"Nice to see you too Keeks," Kai groaned, rolling onto his back.
"Don't you be friendly with me, you backstabbing bastard," she snapped back, resting her hands on her slender hips.
As always Kiki was dressed in her two favorite colors, which were red and black. Today she wore black board shorts and red halter with black topstitching; there was also a black seven on the right hand side in honor of their beyblading team's name.
"Calm down, babe," Tyson wrapped his arms around his girlfriends waist and spoke softly into her ear. "I'm sure Kai will explain everything."
"Kiki Ling!" Amara screamed suddenly appearing in the doorway. She was still dressed in the navy Dickies and yellow t-shirt she had been traveling in the day before. Her red hair was fly away and matted on the left side of her face. "It's eight in the morning and some of us didn't go to bed till after three. Shut up!"
"Amara!" Kiki squealed pulling away from Tyson and rushing to embrace her best friend.
"Hi Keeks," Amara smiled.
"Oh Ams, I missed you so much."
"I missed you too," Amara replied honestly. "But I really don't like to be welcomed back with you screaming at my boyfriend." Kiki smiled sheepishly. "He'll talk when he's ready. Won't you Kai?" Amara walked over to his bed and sat down on the edge of it. He gave her a slight glare but nodded. "Go back to sleep." Amara kissed his forehead and then dragged Tyson and Kiki out of the room with her.
As they entered the hallway, heads were peaking out of the various open doors staring at their returned hostess.
"Hi guys," Amara grinned at them all. "Get dressed and come downstairs. I'll tell you when all of you are down there." All the heads nodded and then disappeared back into their rooms.

" Morning sleepy," Amara greeted Kai as he shuffled down the stairs four hours later. "We've been waiting for you." Amara wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up at him.
"Where is everybody?" he grunted, his eyes wandering over the entryway.
"Kiki, Tyson, Max, Mico, and Kenny are at the grocery store, Rei, Nicholai, and Tala are outside loading some stuff into Nicholai's jeep, and Cat and Jules in the kitchen making lunch to go for everyone," Amara rattled off. "I told them why you had to leave. They know as much as I know. Is that okay?"
"Yeah that's fine," Kai ran one hand through his hair while the other stayed resting on Amara's hip.
"Alright," Amara leaned up and kissed him softly. "We should be ready to go soon. Grab your bag and take it out to Rei and the other guys." Amara moved to leave him but Kai pulled her back.
"Where are we going?" He hugged her close and whispered the question into her ear.
"Wouldn't you like to know," Amara smirked.
"I would."
"Well you'll just have to wait till we get there." Amara said coyly and then disappeared into the kitchen.
"Cultus Lake here we come!" Tyson whooped as he came in the door with his arms full of grocery bags.
'Tyson you dork! It was suppose to be a surprise," Kiki whacked him in the back of the head with a back full of groceries.
"Whoops," Tyson smiled apologetically at his girlfriend. Kai smiled. Well at least he knew where they were off to even if he had never heard of the place before.
