Disclaimer: I do not own Golden Sun.
This fic is dedicated to Joker's Specter, who has been very supportive of me in my writing.
"So, you really have to go?" Isaac asked for the umpteenth time as he walked Mia down from his house to the plaza where their other friends were waiting.
"Yes, Isaac, I really have to go," She said, trying to hide a smile. He was so persistent.
"You'll come back to visit, though," he said.
"Yes, Isaac. I'll come back to visit." He was really very persistent. It was cute, in a way, how he didn't want her to leave. For a second, Mia allowed herself to wonder if it might mean anything more. 'No,' she thought. 'Isaac is just over protective. After all, he was like this when Sheba, Ivan, and Piers left, too.' Mia was the only one of the four foreign Adepts who was still in Vale. The other three had left soon after the rebuilding was done. Mia had decided to stay an extra month. It had been fun, but she could no longer put off going home.
"What're you thinking?" Isaac's voice broke into her thoughts. He peered at her curiously. "You've been standing there for almost two minutes, just staring into space."
"Oh! I was just thinking about how I'm the last one of our group to leave. Sorry," she said, embarrassed.
Isaac shrugged, and they began walking again. "Things are going to be boring once you leave."
"Oh, come on. I can't be that exciting, can I?"
"Well, what about when you and Jenna took over my roof and spent the afternoon throwing snowballs at whoever came near?"
Mia laughed. "Yes, there was that. That was so much fun. Well, at least until Jenna knocked Garet out."
"Yeah," said Isaac. "I had no idea a snowball could do that much damage."
By that time, the two were nearly at the plaza. Mia was about to start down the stairs, but Isaac caught her arm.
"Isaac? What is it?" she asked. He blushed and stared at the ground.
"There's something I want to tell you before you go, Mia," he said. "I, uh, well, I like you. A lot." He took her hands in his. "So, I decided that before you left, I had to do this." Isaac bent over and kissed Mia on the lips. After a moment, he broke away and looked at her somewhat anxiously. "Mia?" She was blushing, too.
"Isaac, I like you, too." She brought her face up towards his, and they kissed again. When they broke apart, they were both smiling.
"I know you still have to leave, but at least now you'll want to come back soon," Isaac chuckled. Mia smiled at him and put her hand in his, and they walked down to the plaza together.
This is my first Golden Sun fanfic, and only my second piece of fanfiction ever. Constructive criticism is welcome, flames are not. Thank you for reading.
